Anyone played this?

I think this game is the saving grace of the abomination known as Suikoden IV. And the sad thing is you don't even need to play Suikoden IV to get this one. Its only a psuedo sequel.

I love the battle system, a lot of it is like FF Tactics. Theres additional terrain system and mounts and stuff like that.

Only real downers for me are that some characters can permanently die if they get KO'd in battles. And there is no way to raise characters in battle, they withdraw for the whole fight or die. And the main character's voice actor sounds like he's 5 years old.

But either way, this game is much better than Suikoden IV, and worth a try!

ya i did play it and beat .. it was fun but sometime battles take too long

I must be the only one who enjoyed Suikoden IV, albeit not as much as others, but I still enjoyed playing it, plus getting Ted, ah memories.
Anyways, yea Tactics is fun, I wouldn't mind a Suikoden Tactics 2 to be a prequel or sequel to Suikoden V.

Ted was worth trudging through SIV, but that was a lonley.. hard trudge.

I never played Suikoden Tactics, but I think I might pick it up if you liked it this much Tymon. I'm a sucker for these kinds of games.

After playing Suikoden 4, it was wonderful. I enjoyed abusing the elements to destroy everything in my path. But as a SRPG and as a Suikoden game in general it's...nothing special, I think. I played through it because I love the series as a whole, but I never really got that into it like I did 1-3. I finally lost interest at the last dungeon. It was fun enough to go around killing things, but I didn't really care what happened to most of the characters and the fishmen. Those fucking fishmen.... Who the hell thought up that plot anyway?

I'd much sooner replay the first, second...hell every other game in the series than either Suikoden 4 game. As much as I liked Kika and Reinbach, I have no desire to sit through either of those games again.

How many times is it now that you've mistaken Tymon and me?:nono:

But yeah, the story of the game isn't that great. Who the hell comes up with dreadful...fishman monsters?

Oh crap. Sorry man. I see the Ty and I just don't look at the rest.

No story? I probably won't pick it up then. That's the main reason I buy RPGs.

This post gave me a boner, not sure way. I think you talking about fish just led to a visual. /snicker

It has a plot. Perhaps not the best of plots...but it is there atleast. ^^;

Boner from my post? I highly doubt that. You must've been watching Comedy Central before you read it is all.
