Wii Super Mario Galaxy 2

Wow, that looks awesome. Really makes me wish I had a Wii....

June 11th for EU. Rather surprised at how soon this is coming out. Honestly, I thought they would've wanted to release this during the Holiday line up.

Metroid comes out around the holidays, so they're still pretty well covered.

Other M hits June 27th in the states.

Yeah, Metroid is just one month later for North America. We'll have to see what their season line-up is, but regardless, I'm pleased with this years releases. A Mario and a Metroid game, among other games on every system, is quite satisfying.

Best game EVA :)

Can't believe no one's commented on this yet. Did anyone else pick this up yesterday?

They've made some great improvements in the game so far. Now, player 2 can actually help you out, besides just collecting starbits and getting you killed. Now, they can freeze some enemies, collect coins and 1ups, and freeze some environmental traps.

I'm in the second world, and already I've seen 3 of the new powers you get and all of them are fun and very useful. Level design is absolutely genius, and there's some throwback music for several of the levels.

This is a must buy.

I plan on picking it up on friday (pay day). I might have been able to get it on Sunday night had I not been lazy and gone to my local Hastings and participated in the Brawl tournament they had.

Is it all kiddy like the last one? That possibility all that's keeping me from getting this.

What do you mean kiddy? Yoshi doesn't get eviscerated if that's what you're talking about. The game is enormously fun, being suitable for even young kids to enjoy does not diminish from that fact in the slightest.

They are ramping up the challenge in this game, with the kind code built in, they can make a more challenging game without off putting the casual crowd.

It's been a long time since I played the original, but I remember it being a bit kiddy. I could be wrong. Either way when stuff IS kiddy it's a bit of a put off for me.

Of course I picked this up, it's SUPER MARIO GALAXY! I too am on world two and I like the linear approach of going from level to level until you hit the bowser galaxy at the end of the world. Anyone know what the the comet coins do? I'm assuming it's the same as new super mario for the wii where you collect 3 a level to unlock the secret world at the end of the game.

Not sure, I'm missing two from the first world still. On the puzzle planet I didn't know how to get it, so I'm going to go back later on.

Oh my god, there's no blood, and colours other than shades of green gray and brown are used, it's clearly meant entirely for small children and cannot possibly be enjoyed by adults

Not at all what I meant. I'll just watch a video review or something, none of you seem to have anything constructive to say in response to my question.

What exactly is your question? I don't see how a game can be too kiddy unless it's like Spongebob, Dora the Explorer, or Sesame Street. I don't know of a Mario game that's "too kiddy." Unless there's a 'Mario teaches you your ABC's' game that I don't know about.

It's hard to put it into words. A combination of mannerisms, SFX, and those things thrown in that are clearly there to amuse a demographic younger than I am (like a movie that has a male character get kicked in the crotch, for example). These things generally don't bother me if I'm playing alone, it's the weird looks I get from my parents and the comments I get from my brother that bother me.

Now I get what you mean. If you mean will people ask you "why the fuck are you playing a kiddy game like Mario and not something action-packed like CoD?" then yes it's kiddy in that way. But if you were to put that controller in their hand and let them play it, they'd change their mind because it's not particular kiddy. My friend said why I was playing Super Mario Bros. Wii last week and then when I got her to play it, she completely changed her attitude towards it lol.
