Items in Smash

I think its fun to play with items.

For competitive purposes however, it is not good to use items.

Using items is fun and does take skill, no doubt about it.

However, they are distributed randomly. You could get completely shafted if items dont happen to fall the right way.

Randomness takes away from the skill factor of the game. You can win or lose from factors out of your control. therefore tournaments do their best to remove luck as a factor from the game. This involve banning items, and certain levels with strongly random elements. They can remove randomness to a certain extent, so they do.

Playing for fun, however, should be up the players. I tend to have fun playing more competitvely because i know when I lose its because usually because i did something wrong, not because such and such happened and i got screwed over. however, that can be lulzy sometimes too. Same goes for when I win, just the opposite way.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I love playing with items when there are more than two players, but when there's only my opponent and I, I rather have items off with the neutral stages set on random. (Battlefield, Final Destination, Delfino Plaza, Yoshi's Island, Castle Siege, Corneria (Melee), Onett (Melee), Pokemon Stadium (Melee)

Everyone has their own definition of fun. Some people like to play on neutral stages and no items and they think that's fun, and that's fine.
I personally like to brawl on any stage, usually with more than one other person there. I don't mind the random; it keeps things interesting.

All stages but the moving ones, which is like 4 i think. No healing items or hammers.

That's how I roll! :bb:

Hammers are cool with me, Dragoon can burn in a pit of fire.

I also love Mushroomy Kingdom

True smash playahs handle all situations.

Put on items. True skill will determine if you can stop me from using it or vice versa.

You might have the item but you gotta catch me before you can use it on me.

Also: All my friends hate Vassy XD.

I'll play however anyone else wants to play, but always having the items off gets old to me after a while. A play this game for its unpredictable factors like a smart bomb being thrown in the middle of three people in a scuffle and all three getting blown off the screen, I don't care if I get blown off with them. I almost always choose Random for stage select, and I sometimes choose Random for character.
I don't really care if I lose unless I'm just playing against CPU. Yea I like rubbing wins and peoples faces, but then again I also like to do Super Sudden Death on fast speed with only explosives.

My point exactly, Davion & Wes.

I don't wanna hear "I'm the best Smash Player" and then see them turn around and say "No items. Final Destination." XD

how about no items and battlefield?

Couple new pictures.

Olimar is all cheese. Most broken character in the game

id hate me too :)

what do people think of the final smash rainbow circley thing haha.
i personally am not a big fan of it because as a poster before said, it can be pretty random in terms of who it pops for. but it definitely is fun to get >.< haha.

i find the game somewhat less responsive though and now i find that characters flash (temporary invincibility) too often now, which prevents fluid combinations like on N64.

only things I really 'hate' are hammers, ray guns, assist trophies and pokeballs.

You can be at 0%, and someone picks up a ray gun and just keeps shooting you till you KO off the side. Some characters can avoid this, though.

Posted already in the wrong place, but why must people use "High Teirs onry?"

Fucks with the fun of the game.

No offense, but jesus play with who you like. Not because someone tells you to.

Edit: Sorry if that sounds like I'm calling people out, I'm not.

But Olimar is not a god character, nor is R.O.B., by a LONG shot.
If you do happen to like them, more power, but I'm always seeing people say "Why do you use ...? she/he sucks in this game."

Don't get me wrong, Dedede/Olimar/Metaknight are some of my most used, simply because of the games they represent. But Jigglypuff/Kirby/Sonic are the ones I like the most, so I'd use them even more, regardless of "tier"

~Sorry for harsh

Didn't say they were god characters, but Olimar can get some massive dmg off on 3 moves

I know what I'm talking about since me being the best player and all. lulZ

The only thing that really gets me is the pity final smashes. If you fall off for some stupid reason and i get the point, the game should give you a smash ball for free.

Also, lol@Olimar being a broken character.
