SWF files

Because they're flash files and animations are against the guidelines if I remember right.
 
if its a small or short animation, just make it a .gif, Im fairly sure those are allowed, and even if they arent... As long as they arent too large in size, it shouldnt hurt anything
 
it is seriously like 4kb... -_- and i tryed the GIF thing just says "NO ANIMATIONS ALLOWED!"
 
Animated avatars are not allowed by QCDN guidelines.

However I'm guessing vBulleting just doesn't allow .SWF files to be uploaded as avatars, which is an issue that has nothing to do with our guidelines.
 
Animated sigs we're a little more lax on, and address each one individually. That one is... big.

It was originally decided that animated gifs and such weren't allowed as they caused terrible lag on the computers of some (mainly those with 56k or crappier computers). Since animated gifs are sortof an unneeded luxury, they have been removed for now. (Though I was personally against this - as long as people don't constantly clear their cache or change AVs, they should only have a loading issue with avatars the very first time they load...)

Animations in sigs were generally disallowed as well, though some people don't mind it so much anymore - however, you still need to mind the KB limit for your sig.
