In the little free time I have to play FFXI I would prolly just watch TV or play a different game. Unless of course I had a girlfriend to take up that free time, but that's a lot more expensive.

The only people that realize how much a waste of time FFXI is after quitting are the people who truly had no life and just played everyday 8-10hrs a day. If you have a job and some sort of hobby (like going to the gym) and some sort of weekend social life as well like myself then you just see FFXI as a form of entertainment to use in your free time.
 
orrrrrrr because you camp same nms, spend time farming shit that isnt 100% drop, leave a linkshell, join another and start all over? i guess its fun for awhile, dont see how having a life or not has anything to do with that, since playing 8-10 hours a day, or playing 1-2hours, your doing the same shit

Eh, some people actually care about the group of people they spend their ffxi time with and don't shell hop every couple months. I've made a ton of friends in ffxi that I've been associated with and in the same LS with for two years. We've gone from kiting genbu around that stupid bush, to killing Vrtra in an hour and a half. All with pretty much the same core of people. I love those guys. Without them FFXI would be nothing.

I guess we all have different ffxi experiences though.
