Multi-Plat Tales '09

That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said, so why did you bother quoting me?

If you haven't played the 360 version, there's almost no reason to not wait for the PS3 version.

I guess I didn't write it as well as I though. Ok, what I meant to say was the people I spoke to around Uni who were waiting for the 360 version to come out here, upon hearing news that it was coming out on PS3, decided to not get it for 360. I think that makes more sense.

Edit: To further elaborate, this pretty much means the people here in Europe who have both a 360 and PS3 and have heard this news, they will now pretty much wait for the PS3 version now, making the sales of the 360 version potentially lower.

Ok, but it's still completely irrelevant to what I was talking about. You said what you meant just fine(I understood what you meant), it's just completely unrelated to what I had said.

I didn't make any mention of me caring about PS3 sales vs. 360 sales. All I said was that because the game was only released in 2 of the 3 biggest video game markets, that it's sales figure was much lower than it would have been had it been released in all 3 major markets. This was to counter Anglis' stupid idea that they might never make another tales game(when there's always at least 2 in production) just because Vesperia on the 360 wasn't a massive seller; even though it did pull in a great deal of money with only being in 2/3 of the major markets.

The fact that people who have been waiting a while to play the game are willing to wait a little longer to play the same game but with a few more features is irrelevant to the sales at this point. It's the best decision for them though, if I hadn't already played the 360 game all the way through, I definitely would wait and grab the PS3 version over the 360 version. I still probably will buy the PS3 version, since it's by far the best RPG of this generation and easily the best in the series; and I had already been planning to play through the 360 version again.

Somethin' I should have mentioned earlier; I can't believe they aren't releasin' the Tales of that are on the DS. Hell, one of them is a mothership title...

Two on the DS actually that are mothership titles, Tales of Innocence and Tales of Hearts.

Also needs some Tales of the Tempest.

I wasn't sure about Innocence. I can't believe they'd skip us out on one much less two especially if they are on the DS...

Yeah it's shit, but eh what can you do. Namco just thinks "Tales of" and NA doesn't mix.
And on the DS, it should be a no brainer, ah well.

I gotta say, on the console, they really aren't anything, especially in the days of the PS2. However, on the DS they'd be pure hits I'd figure. The play style and graphics are so fittin'.

It's really a shame, since the Tales series isn't guilty of having 5 minutes of gameplay per 10 minutes of cutscene/fmv like most other JRPG series are. Not to mention main characters and supporting casts that are entirely likable, instead of one being loved and the other hated.

Flynn playable - Fuck yeah
Extra content with Flynn playable for large periods of time - Fuck yeah x2
Dual mystic artes with Flynn and Yuri - FUCK yeah.

Graces' combat system looks awesome, too.

Wait..I also never stated that this ONE game would make the series go away. But if the game would continue to sell bad with consecutive titles you never know. And I'm just curious, where do you get these numbers from? What website do you use that showed the budget of this game?

And more controversy:

http://kotaku.com/5210749/traces-of-ps3-tales-of-vesperia-character-in-xbox-360-version#viewcomments

It seems Patty was (Partly) in the original code for the 360 version of Vesperia, but the important parts of the data like battle records (I assume) were cut out of the final release. This was brought to light thanks to Japanese gamers hacking into the game and looking at the code.

In any case though, it seems likely that the PS3 content won't appear on the 360 version as it'd more than likely corrupt save data.

As it stands, it looks as though Namco Bandai intended to give Flynn more screen time and add Patty in as a full character, BUT due to various reasons, it seems they couldn't and had to scrap them out of the final release of the 360 version.

I can think of 2 reasons:

1) Time constraints.
2) DVD's 8.5gb space limitations.

Pretty long bump but Vesperia is coming out in Japan on PS3 in just a few days.

Also, we've heard this:

http://scrawlfx.com/2009/09/tales-of-vesperia-voice-actors-being-called-back-to-studio

This doesn't really guarantee that it's vesperia, it could be radiant mythology 2 or tales of vs. Doesn't really point to that, though, since the spinoff games have NEVER been ported over here in the past, would be a little out of place to do it now, instead of a flagship title.
