Multi-Plat Tales '09

In the booklet for the PS3 port of the game, Tales of Vesperia developers Namco-Bandai has said thank you to the Xbox 360 owners who bought the original version for being beta trialists in the game.

These are just some of the nuggets from the booklet.

“Xbox 360 players often complained ‘why aren’t these parts voiced?’, so when making the PS3 version we first set about improving the voicing … As a result, the entire main scenario became fully voiced.”

“We’d be delighted if those who played the Xbox 360 version would play the PS3 version too. Of course the same goes for those playing for the first time.”

“We made a lot of changes we think Xbox 360 players would be sure to appreciate.”

“There are a lot of elements from the Xbox 360 version which were improved, so please give it a try.”

“Based on the feedback so kindly provided by Xbox 360 players, we added a lot of additional elements.”

Harsh.

In any case though, I finally managed to find a copy of Vesperia from Japan with the Pre-order dlc card (Fuck yeah Abyss costumes).

Oh and, rumour time, apparently the English voice cast for Vesperia were called back for additional lines.

Not really harsh, it was just pointing out, if anything, why a lot of the changes came to be. Harsh would be like, "Hey, dumb bitches, you smell. Oh, and by the way, we used you for this." It's just them saying that the game has changed and there's new content and they want people to buy it again to re-experience the changes.

Character and battle information:
Spoiler:
As Tales of Graces' release in Japan approaches, Namco Bandai has given out a number of interesting tidbits about the game.

Seven playable characters have been revealed, and it is likely that they compose the full roster of playable characters.

Asbel Lhant: The game's main protagonist, Asbel is a young nobleman who is training as a knight, honing his swordsmanship skills.

Sophie: Sophie is an amnesiac girl, who does not remember her real name. Asbel has named her Sophie after a flower that has significance to his life.

Hubert Ozwell: Hubert is Asbel's younger brother. He is a serious young man who is a member of the military.

Cheria Barnes: Cheria is the granddaughter of Asbel's family's butler. She appears to be a magic user, and secretly has feelings for Asbel.

Pascal: This feisty-looking girl uses a long pole in battle.

Malik Ceasars: The oldest member of the group, Malik wields an oversized weapon that may be a gunblade.

Richard: Richard is a young prince and a good friend of Asbel. Like Asbel, he is a swordsman.

Tales of Graces adds new features to the popular Tales series battle system. While previous games allowed players to attack enemies straight on or use a free movement button to run around the battlefield, Graces adds a "step around" command that can be used to easily flank enemies. It also features a critical hit gauge that fills up when a character hits an enemy and empties when the character is hit. By filling the bar completely, a character gains a critical hit and a "CC Point". CC points are use for executing Artes, which are characters' special attacks.

Finally, character titles in Tales of Graces are more than cosmetic frills. Titles are associated with skills, some of which can only be used with specific titles, and others which can be used permanently once mastered.

Tales of Graces is expected to be released before the end of 2009 in Japan. It has not been officially confirmed for a North American release.

Yeah so still no word on a NA release for vesperia (ps3) or graces (wii) yet. You don't think
Bandai Namco lost faith in the north americans and won't release anymore Tales games here.
Ive noticed there's a few tales games that never made here (couple on the ds).

According to the VA for Yuri in Vesperia, the PS3 version is on the way, albeit unconfirmed by Namco Bandai themselves at this time.

Namco Bandai just really doesn't like releasing "Tales of" games in NA lately, I'm surprised we got Vesperia 360 and the Symphonia spin-off for the Wii.
I hope they plan on releasing Vesperia PS3 and Graces here, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
