i have this question in the back of my head going on.. now that i am 37 on monk which i plan on taking to 75 :P my obvious sub is warrior. is it or is it not a must that i have to level ninja to sub that? mind you i have 0 desire to do this due to the gil for shihei (sp), the low level grind from 9-37, etc.. do many mnks actually sub ninjar? i also cant imagine taking away the benefits of subbing warrior seeing as i am taru to begin with.. oh and one more thing.. i have o. kote, brown belt and juji gi so far for when i hit 40.. what other gear should i plan on getting?

Yeah, at 75 alot of monks do sub ninja anymore. Everyone subs ninja. Ninja would sub ninja given half a chance. Get used to it, or level samurai. Those are about your only options.

Wait...why the hell do mnks sub nin?

Eww...

They didn't do that shit last year.

they sub nin in cannons cause after the first WS the tank never gets hate back. in normal situations, like you're were accustomed to before you left, they would moderate. but cannons have thrown coordinated partying to the winds.

You only have to worry about nin sub once your monk is 73+ and can start participating in cannons. Before then there's no reason for it unless you're an idiot or you're too scared to get hit once or twice.

They sub nin because that's the best way to lessen their status as an MP sponge, so that they can get a significantly larger amount of exp/hour. A 73+ monk who doesn't sub nin and is not gimp would pull hate far too often with just their auto-attack and die a lot or just eat up too much mp and hold back the entire group. The only people who say otherwise are either complete idiots or people who have no idea what they're talking about.

Wear the second pair on your feet?

Or your meat...

Thrust Attacks go!

Seriously though I have a question

I know that the af2 leg armor give kick attacks +5, but I was wondering which is better? Byakko Haidate or the af2 legs? I wont ask about shura haidate because those are just shmexy, and just as rare as B. Haidate. Just a curious Paladin looking into other jobs.

Monk is the only reason I could force myself to level my /NIN to 37. Thankfully, I still have 10-12 levels before I have to worry about ever using it. I'm not looking forward to giving up Berserk and Double Attack, but I'm sure it's better than getting my head pounded into the ground.

You sub ninja at lvl 75 so you can get chain 300+s. If you don't sub nin then you don't get chain 300+s. That's pretty much how it goes.

One makes you kick attack 5% more, the other makes you attack 5% faster in which gives more chances for the kick attack rate you already have to proc, AND has the rather nice DEX boost. I'd say Haidates somewhat better.

Haidates... no contest whatsoever.

level nin so you arent gimp.
