In one of the only times you will ever hear me playing devil's advocate for the TSA, plastic explosives can look like play-doh.

Film at 11.

As much as I'm against stereotyping, this is a typical american family coming back from christmas vacation WITHIN the USA, so it still doesn't really make any sense. I would understand if it was some (insert Islamic nation here) with a few cans of Play-Doh that it would look suspicious, but come on, its ok to practice discretion, but dont go overboard.

Of course its common sense but if you only take the play doh away from the muslim kids then your profiling and god forbid we do that.....

Might hurt someone's "feelings".

See how the political correctness stupidity works?

Nothin wrong with political correctness, as long as its not blown out of proportion. Just like anything out there, its good in moderation, but extremely bad when used in excess. I myself am against racial profiling, but in this case, if it means the lives of some people, it may not totally be a bad thing.

Political correctness is something that people shouldnt indulge in, but it's also not bad to use it under certain circumstances.

No, there is something wrong with political correctness regardless of any factor of moderation.

It inhibits free speech.

Even free speech is only good in moderation, otherwise we have idiots slandering people left and right.

Slander isn't free speech any more than yelling fire in a crowded theater is so I'm not really sure why you would categorize it as such. However, if I say, "Obama is a horrible president" it may be negative but it's not slander because it's the truth. That's free speech.

and even if its not the truth its your opinion which you are free to have... slander is knowingly making falsehoods

Nope. that's an opinion. He's not plunged the world into massive war and debt so he's an improvement atm.
His performance has been kinda meh though. The random things he does that do show some promise are hampered by the same people everyone voted Obama in so that they wouldn't have said people running the USA.

So I guess the fact that he sent 30,000 more soliders to a war he could call off at any time and sinking us $2 trillion more into debt is some kind of improvement to you? Sorry it's really not an opinion he's horrible to anyone except the clueless.

The president doesn't have dictatorial powers and as such isn't as powerful as you're thinking. Bush got away with the shit he did because everyone else in the US government didn't give a shit about what was going on either or wanted the same stuff bush did.
How do you propose that he get out of the war? Senate/congress can cockblock him pretty much anytime they want and a bunch of them are still profiting from Iraq. When/if he leaves he's got a destabilized Country that remembers shit like this guy:

Misc bombings and whatnot. Sure that's not what what all soldiers are like but they're going to remember the bad ones alot easier than the good.

The whole celebration with Iraqis destroying Saddam's statue was faked which makes one wonder if they really gave a shit whether Saddam was around or not since life would be just as shitty the day after.
Then take into Account the fact that the Israeli Lobby WANT America in the middle east and politically it's impossible for Obama to change anything there.

Reported on Kol Yisrael radio, on October 3, 2001, Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, stated bluntly to Shimon Peres, this quote:

"Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it."
here's a link about Jimmy Carter's book where he admits that Going against what Israel wants is political suicide.

So really even if Obama wanted to do anything about withdrawing(I personally cant tell if he's for or against by now but i think that with how big a promise it was(since usually if not following through on stuff you do it with the stuff people wont notice) he must have thought he really could get troop withdrawls) he pretty-much has no actual power to do so.

And as far as the 2 trillion? Well for one he's stuck in some shitty war he cant withdraw from that costs over 720 million each day, his attempt at health care reform had to have so many concessions to special interest groups, lobbies, and general politics(let's vote against Obama if he doesn't agree to our demands or just cause he's in the other party to throw some weight around and act like we're powerful) that the cost multiplied exponentially while loosening effectiveness, and until the economy recovers he doesn't exactly have a way of fixing the debt outside of trying to spend what money he has left on making America profitable.
Obama is certainly a disappointment so far but yes it's an improvement. For another example Obama hasn't pissed off the entire planet, abused the systems Bush setup(yet?), and we've not had any torture scandals outside of his retarded decision to not prosecute anyone.
He's still got 3 years to fuck up though.

War with Iran? Depends on if he wants to go along with it or thinks America can get away with it when so many people are still against the first war which actually did have a decent reason to be started(Afghanistan) until Iraq which was pure bullshit. Flip a coin since there are still Soldiers and Us Citizens that think Iraq was allied with al Qaeda(and had nukes) as of Veterans day from what i saw watching the news at the airport and Obama is a much more charismatic figure than bush ever was.
His strategy this/last year was bipartisanship aka "I'll be your friend so let's work together on this ok?." I personally want to see Obama drop his balls already and start doing what he promised/wants instead of working with people perfectly ok with fucking stuff up as they wont be the ones getting the blame.

It's an opinion. As a statement, it's as factual as "You're full of shit."

And even if it were true, he's still an improvement over Bush. When would Bush have bothered to talk to Americans like they were adults and admit the system was clusterfucked when it came to the attempted taint bombing? I doubt Bushie would've pointed out that no system is foolproof, or reminded people that fears of terrorism aren't supposed to rule our daily lives. You have a much higher chance of being killed by a drunk driver than some religious zealot from the Middle East, but conservatives are pissing their pants because Obama doesn't say "war on terror" enough to satisfy their need to justify their nebulous fears about killer Muslims.

I also rate him a lot higher than The Crypt Keeper and Mooseburger Barbie. If McCain was in office, we'd probably have bombed Tehran by now.

So Isreal actually runs America and the evil Zionist control all our media? lol boy does this sound familier,

and also, you can't say jack shit about republicans when it comes to the health care thing, because the democrats did this ALONE, and made it plainly clear from the getgo they wanted/expected no help from republicans. all the compromises and concessions made in the health care bill were concessions made for their own party.

So presidents and prime minister's of countries(including the USA since you probably didn't even bother reading) are disreputable sources when it comes to the international policies of the countries that they represent?
On the media portion. The Israeli lobby is one of the top two lobbies in Washington and the most powerful of the two depending on whom you ask.
The most recent conflict was Gaza when the peace treaty expired between Israel and Palestine expired. In America the information was presented so that it looked like Palestine had breached he ceasefire by attacking Israel when in fact Israel had attacked no less than 7 times before ANY attacks by Palestinians.

In addition in exchange for the ability to enter Israel the AP(associated press) has articles concerning the middle east screened ahead of time by the Israeli government to choose which are appropriate. In other words the majority of the information you're going to even receive from western media has been pre screened by a government which can and does edit out whatever makes them look bad. They also have a Habit of torturing and killing journalists like the following guy.

And Olympia Snowe, for some reason. I would've liked it better if they'd said "The Republicans aren't going to play ball, so let's stop trying to get one on board so we can say it was a bipartisan bill." I give the Dems credit for trying, but they really should know better at this point.

Loud thumbs-up for Dejavu for this. More people need to realize the difference here.

It's an opinion. As a statement, it's as factual as "You're full of shit."

No persons suffering from constipation were harmed in the formulation of this opinion, I trust?

Exactly. It's something I may think, but not something I'd be interested in proving.

It's a medical fact that everyone is technically full of shit. Just some more than others.

We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.

Not even going to rebut the "It's all the jews fault they are America's puppet masters after all" comment. That kind of liberal radicalism speaks for itself.
