For being so considerate that you didn't have the decency to respect the schedule of another shell, who you have in the past, pushed their entry time.
Earlier this month, RidersOfRohan (dynamis) posted our schedule on QCDN as with all to other shells. Before our schedule was posted, I checked the other shells that run prior to us. I made sure that before our schedule was posted, there would be no conflicts to save the headache of having to ask another shell to rework their schedule.
A few days later, DynamisEpitome finally gets around to posting their schedule and a conflict is noted. They're planning to do Beaucedine Glacier 3hrs before our shell is scheduled to enter. If they actually enter on time, and get all extensions, they would be delaying our shell by 30 minutes. (Because we've dealt with these guys before, I knew that they probably wouldn't enter on time and the delay would actually be MORE than 30 minutes)
So, I PM their leader Dalkiel. I ask if they could try and schedule a different zone, so that our shell does not get delayed. They have THREE Beaucedine runs for the month of october, versus our ONE run.
(For those that don't know, our shell runs once a week so we get a total of 4 runs per month versus other shells that get double that)
The response I get is "No, our leaders don't want to get another zone. We will try to exit on time, but we might run late".
Unfortunately, that doesn't sit well with me because a good majority of our shell members are on EST, and because our entry time is midnight, this often has them staying up until 3am. Any delay on our entry time is really bad, because we lose members before the run is finished which ultimately hinders our progress. We try to be very understanding and when members feel that they are reaching their limits, we have no issues with them bowing out before the end of the run, especially if we've entered later than expected.
Anyways, tonight is the night and I decide to wait a little before talking to their leader Dalkiel. But eventually, 20 minutes until our shell is scheduled to enter, I decide to ask him how much time he has left.
Their shell is already 15 minutes into our time slot, and expected to get at least another extension. This is going to delay our shell by 45 minutes.
I ask if they would mind exiting at midnight (which is our entry time) and explain again, that we are limited on our runs for the month in comparison, and would greatly appreciate that.
The answer? "No sorry we can't".
Sorry my ass.
So thank you DynamisEpitome for being so considerate of the other shells, the other 30+ people's time you are wasting because you guys
1)Didn't enter on time obviously (all extensions should make you only 30 minutes late)
2)Even TRYING to resolve the conflict prior to tonight, considering you were PMed both by myself and the moderator for the Dynamis scheduling forum.
I know that in all technicality no shell or player "has" to go by the schedules on QCDN, but the decent and respectable ones do. I guess we know at least one of the leaders for DynamisEpitome doesn't fit that category.:nono:
