I'm convinced that SE does not want me to have gil.

Now PLD is not the most expensive job, and I understand that. I can be well-equiped for a fraction of the cost that is required of my DD and NIN friends.

Even so, we're not the best farming job either, and my other avenues of income are good, but take a long time (gardening/mining/crafting). A windfall every now and then would be nice.

So, after building up 120 beastmen's seals, I was hoping for maybe one good drop out of two BC 60s... nope.

OK, no problem. Stuff happens.

I finally get together my first KS30 run, and after burning my entire career's worth of kindred seals on three orbs... still nothing. Maybe 300k (left over after splitting with BLMs) after nearly a year of collecting seals.

Thanks SE, really. :badwords:

I personally find those splitting with blms run never quite seem to yeild too much money. :banghead3:

There's a rarely done KS30 (unfortunatley I forget the name offhand) that I did quite some time ago that yielded great returns. Since I forget the name, you could probabaly ferret it out by knowing that it mainly drops those lv.70 RSE belts, like the Ocean Rope for Humes, and the rare Jungle Rope for Mithras. Granted, it's not the famed Desert Swarm that everyone tunnel visions as the pinnacle of KS30's for some reason, but the sun dosen't rise and set on the V-Claw.

Point being, we did this KS30 with WHM, RDM, BLM, BLM, and ~>PLD!<~ It was much harder, and quite frankly much funner, than the fast-food thundaga III crutch that is Desert Swarm, but in the end everyone walked away with well over 3-4 million in drops. I don't see any possible way to do this KS without the aide of a PLD. Look it up (sorry I don't remember the name, it was in Fei Yin though) and give this one a whirl!

I always Lawl when people whine bout how they dont get any money from a blm cannon ks30. Just because it's a cookie cutter way, people couldnt imagen any other way to do it. Ive always made mils off doing this with friends, standard exp with 2 sleepers >.>; It's a lot of fun~ But sucks for your lost :/

Not Tyrath, but Celv incase people get confused.

Seriously you dont have hire BLM to do a BLM Cannon for the Desert Swarm, you could have earn well over few mils with the number of orbs you have.

I did the run with 2BLM,RDM,WHM,WAR and THF(me) and we got like 2mil each out of 5 Runs. (No V Claw drop) the mages are not even 75, lowest is lvl 69.

I prefer to do KS30's the "normal" way. I think people use blm cannon's because they're scared of losing. Then again, if you do the "split everything equally" it's actually cheaper with a blm cannon because you only have to split with the 3 or so bml's rather than 5 other people.

The problem with the "blm cannons" are that the user orbs is the only one used. "Split everything equally" is amoung the 5-6 people's orbs. It's a gamble with blm cannon where you get a "1/8" V.claw drop. Where as the standard pt, it's either everyone come out with nothing(5-6 straight runs of No drops) or everyone comes out with something(1-3 runs has good drops such as claw, ignot or cloth).

It's easy to not get "conned" by blms, don't bcnm with cannons lol. You agree to it, stop complaining.

duh... i gotten like 1 ignot or 1 cloth everytime i did this... ._."

your complaining about farming? then, start crafting. you made a few 100k off of that KSNM, you can level most crafts to 60 with that if you do it intelligently.

why the hell people do desert swarm for gil ill never understand.
unless you want an easy fight with the cance of getting one of the unlockable critical+ weapons, that ks30 is a waste of fugging seals.

sure a v.claw is nice, but if you dont get a claw (which is very likely), what else does that bc offer in gil return?

exactly.

if you want another cakewalk ks30 with Much better basic/common gil drops try copycat.

Desert Swarm still drops D. ingot and D. cloth, along with some other items worth decent money. Venomnous claw is just worth the most so that's all people really focus on.

I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit here. Maybe 30, but not 60. I've spent a lot of gil (a lot to me anyways...maybe 1 mil) on my crafts and I have very little to show for it. I still don't have a craft up to the lvl where I can make a decent profit. I was mining like a bastard the whole time I was lvling Smithing and Goldsmithing.

<10 on all others

Crafting can earn you money if you are 30 lvls or so above a recipe that can be HQ for extra units like certain ninja tools. Being able to synth non-stackable mats into stackable mats helps, but the payoff comes at a heavy price. And don't even try mining/harvesting/logging unless you have 4-6 gobbie bags done.

But when you are leveling a craft and you see yourself losing 1/3 of your mats on a synth you were barely breaking even on... Ouch.

Then again, maybe it's one of those things I just don't have the patience to do. Like hunting NMs. I dunno. I just don't recomend starting out a craft for the first time if you have less than a mil (or 10 mil for that matter) and you want to invest it.

i KNOW, for a fact, that you can get to 60 cooking, bone crafting (atleast, most of the way), and alchemy. im sure that you can do it with others too, but i havent cared enough to try it.

Don't forget about guild points. After you hit 40, you'll end up throwing money at guild points once every 8 hours.

Dam cel, as a paladin who is hopping to do the exact same things with my orbs i feel for you man
