I agree with Vondoom on the whole tunnel-vision-KS30 thing...too many people see it as the only BCNM money-maker. I've done so many of those Desert Swarms with my BLM it's not even funny...and only on one run did I ever get a V.Claw...all the other times I was under 500K in smaller items and in today's economy that's pocket change. I would recommend you try the BCNM60 "Amphibian Assault" in Den of Rancor....it drops Elemental and Enfeebling Torque and I've made between 3 and 5 million each time. Hope it helps.
 
Even had I been able to keep all the proceeds from my obs, it still wouldn't have been much more than 1.5 mil. Actually, I feel kinda sorry for the BLMs who did my orbs... 40% of my drops divided five ways is only about 120k. Though that's a good amount for 30 minutes worth of work, it could have been a LOT more.

And Blaine, I do craft (51 GS). I can and do make money that way, but with the AH as fickle as it is now, it can be risky at times and is almost always slow.
 
Im tired of using BCNMs in general to make money, i used to do worms turn way back in the day and make decent cash, but lately the drops are so rare its not worth all the work to set one up, done Under observations at least 20 times have i ever seen a PCC let alone over 100k of treasure "NO". while some noob ass who gets lucky goes in with 2 other ppl with lvl 40 jobs being there highest walks out with 60m off 3 PCC between the 3 of them WTF. if your gonna make something to make money SE dont make it hit or miss that shit pisses me off, make it a base gil ammount to win i hate fucking gambling i hate it irl and i hate it in this damn game, why cant we just earn our shit and not have to gamble to just make a decent gil income. why do i have to go 0/15 in 2 days as a 61 thf on poisonhand ghadnad while some fucking gil seller comes in and gets lucky once and beats me to claim and gets a ji while i sell these pants and she doesnt even have TH2. sorry but i have to go with my instincts and say that SE gets a share of what gil is sold cause they only make it harder each update they do, leaping lizzy and valkrum emperor was never monopolized by gil sellers it BS to the ppl that used to use them for easy quick money.

I am of the opinion that anyone with access to somepage.com, the auction house and has an hour, should be able to find a way to make money. Sometimes we spend so much time going for the home run, we forget to swing for singles and doubles.

luck has alot to do with it. you could do beechip and you might get 1-5 stacks a hour. you can do treecutting and if lucky get 2-3 stacks. or you can be very unlucky and maybe get 6 treecutting in hour or 4 beechips.
 
i spend countless hours doin farming camping, some times i make some money sometimes make no money sometimes make alot of money.... what i want is not alot of money all the time but just some consistancy and ive noticed its only getting less often of drops just for simple things. im the type of person where i prefer to do stuff alone if possible, i hate having to rely on others to get what i need, so BCNM HNM usually not my fav things to do especially for gil. but i hate the fact that everything is random.... that is my only complaint.
and one other thing SE didnt make treasure hunter effective enough, why lvl thf if a nin/war can camp the same thing and on this random drop system SE made can get the same item. i lvl thf to 61 wasted my time all my thf gear is in storage cause i can get camp and farm the same on random shit on my rng/thf just as effectively.... in shorter terms Luck > Skill in this game lately.
