Thanks for staying batshit insane, Nintendo.

I haven't seen any of these jokes yet, thanks for your worthwhile contribution.

how about you nintendo fanboy jackasses realize that Nintendo isn't doing anything new.. just better technology with the controller idea.. kthxbai!
Actually, Nintendo is the only one doing something new. Sony and Microsoft are just making stuff look better(not a new idea), while leaving gameplay exactly the same. Nintendo is adding the possibility of new gameplay elements with the features on the controller. All Microsoft and Sony have ever done is copy off the successes in Nintendo's new ideas, and that's hardly "something new."

I'm also going to say that while I am a big Nintendo fan(you'd just flipantly toss the word fanboy at me), I'm also a Sony fan and I will be getting both systems. I'm not expecting the same experience on both systems, like with the 360 and PS3, since there would be no point in getting both if they offered the same kind of material. When I want some super-violent FPS game with jaw dropping graphics, I'll turn to PS3 or my computer. When I want something simpler and just as fun, and that I can play in front of my younger relatives, or if I want to play a great game from a previous system, I'll go Revolution.

Nintendo has historically made consoles and games with multiplayer in mind. On every single top 10 list I've ever seen that covered the top games at parties, Gamecube had at least half the list, and had some of the top games(Smash Brothers Melee was usually #1). Short of RPG's(mainly due to their length to complete), my Gamecube gets far more playtime than my PS2, simply because there are far more and far better games to play with friends than on the other consoles. All of those multiplayer games even have fun single player modes to enjoy, so I still play them even when I'm alone.

There are excellent games on all 3 systems, and anyone who doesn't know/admit that is either lying or purposely ignorant. There is NOTHING wrong with being a Nintendo fan, just like there is nothing wrong with being a Sony or Microsoft fan. Until you can show me how enjoying Nintendo games makes me somehow worse of a person than enjoying Sony/Microsoft games, please stop with spouting "Nintendo Fanboy" like it's some kind of curse. This isn't just to Elemmire, but to everyone who just judges fans of a company based on their bias towards another company. I'm getting tired of hearing people call others Nintendo Fanboys like their a leper or something.

Falsey, while I might go in a post and not post on topic, I do not go in and post rude comments and mean pictures toward people. The only time I've been rude is toward topics about OH and thusly I was on topic stating my opinion (mean/rude it may be) about OH or when people are rude to me first(I.E. Panda).

And Carth.. what the fuck? first you say that Nintendo is so great cause it's doing something brand new!!! (even though it wasn't) And now you are saying "well we recognize that it isn't exactly new.. but they'll make more fun!" Right.. shut up. They are no different than sony.. or microsoft.. nope. Thought.. I guess technically you could say they do something that Nintendo NEVER has done before. YOU CAN PLAY MOVIES ON YOUR SYSTEM D: So I guess Nintendo isn't the ONLY ones bringing new ideas to the gaming system world... now are they? I think not. And in terms of gaming.. again they are not doing something brand new. They are taking what was done before (by sony before too) and improving upon it. And, by the way, Atari is prolly the true revolutionary bunch. As, I believe, Atari came out with the first gaming system + the first basic joysticks + controllers and, of coarse, games. Nintendo made cards before they made gaming systems.

Also.. I'd like to point out that several people in this thread that argue against nintendo at the moment seem to enjoy a variety of systems and games from several companies (myself included) where as the Nintendo diehard fans that seem intent on saying Nintendo is the best and no better.. ALSO own more than just Nintendo.. if Nintendo is indeed so great.. why do you bother buying other systems? That's just a waste of money. So obviously.. the other companies must be making up where Nintendo is failing with you.. or else you wouldn't have EVER bought the other systems. I find it rather amusing that everyone who is opposing the nintendo seems to find enjoyment on all systems and will recognize where they all succeed and where they fail (even I do. I recognize PS2 is inferior compared to GC and X-Box in terms of technology but that they are superior in their gaming library but that X-Box and Gamecube have good games as well) yet those that are saying Nintendo is the best.. happen to own other systems that they are mocking.

And, Baja, I have said several times I recognize where Nintendo does well.. but I also recognize they aren't the greatest force on the planet. I'm getting rather sick of the same people coming in and saying the same things that Nintendo is the best and the rest are shitty.. even though they own the other systems.

i didn't read this, but i bet it's crap

Edit: Read it, and confirming that it's crap.

I didn't submit an official edict knocking the other systems. Well, ok, I said "XBox 360 is trash" or something, but it was just to draw spite. What pisses me off is the "Ha ha! My PS3 controller that I've never tried is much better than the Nintendo one I don't understand!" attitude.

With your abrasive personality, I'll be surprised if you make it past your 14th birthday.

Hey Elem,

Would you like to know something fun???

Some of the people arguing Nintendo's case enjoy a wide variety of systems and games, not just Nintendo . . .

thanks for painting with a broad brush you fucking retard . . .

allow me to illustrate my point . . .

games.jpg

the collection of a nintendo fan boy for sure . . .

And if you need a legend:
Blue=Sony
Green=MS
Red=Nintendo

all i hear is blah blah blah dumb bitch ps2 blah blah i suck blah blah sand in my vagina.

i think its so sweet that you took the time to write all that out. thats so cute.

Would someone just make a flame against elemmire about being a moron instead of flooding this topic...it would make more sense.

Ele, I don't recall anyone saying that Nintendo is the greatest thing under the sun and I certainly never said that. The Nintendo fans are defending the systems because they are tired of hearing people say that Nintendo is crap and makes shitty games. It is the Sony and Microsoft "fanboys"(I hate that term, but if it applies to Nintendo fans, it applies here as well) that are the ones insulting the Nintendo fans, why wouldn't the Nintendo fans defend a console they like?

Nintendo hasn't "failed" me, and neither has Sony. I was interested in the games offered by both, and I remain interested in both. There was never a time when I was dissatisfied with either purchase and I expect the same will be true for the next generation. I want them to have different games on them, because if they had the same games, same genres, same everything, there would be zero reason to buy both of them.

My point was that the fans of playstation and xbox always rag on the nintendo fans for being just that, nintendo fans. They most often don't care about or acknowledge the successes of Nintendo games or consoles, they just insult Nintendo fans, despite being just as big of fans to other companies themselves.

Well.. a lot of the people arguing for Nintendo sure are saying a lot of crap about the other systems being crap compared to Nintendo. They don't acknowledge any of their good traits and continue going through saying they suck. For instance.. go back and read skaw's posts. He says how Sony has crap for game library and its system sucks a lot for breaking down (as other people arguing for Nintendo have been doing too). Granted.. not everyone person arguing for Nintendo does that.. well.. so far.. you are the only one. The rest are people that are arguing against what Nintendo is doing and they have acknowledged that Nintendo has done good things in the past and also say all how they like a lot of the systems (atleast I have been and so have a few others). I really get sick and tired of the people I am calling Nintendo fanboys/fangirls bashing things when people say they don't approve of the way Nintendo is going. Seriously.. topic started off with Cubs obvious disapproval of the new controller.. and then others come in and say "ya.. I don't like it either" some come in and go "I think it'll be quite good" and then people started going into "atleast Nintendo is trying something new unlike Sony and Microsoft who don't do anything new and just copy Nintendo". And so it went...and I am sick of being blamed for this arguement.. I didn't start it jackasses. Panda is a great example of people that piss me off

You may not have started it but you still should shut the fuck up.

Uh, I've never said any of thoses things. :? The only thing coming close to me saying anything about Sonys systems breaking would be bringing up the Sony Curse when it comes to design. First Generation Sony Video Game products have always some big design flaw. It might not've actually done anything to gameplay, but was rather something that could've been easily avoided, and not require a second model to be produced.

Also, to those that have pointed out that the remote thing has been done before.

Sure. But those remotes also weren't tilt/flick sensitive. Thats the big thing about thise one. It's not just a wireless controller in the shape of a TV remote, it does have other features. Don't ignore them. Thats the innovation. No one is clamoring about how it's a remote control. They're going on about the motion sensitivity of the controller. Thats the innovation.

Oh wait. You'd rather knock it for looking like a TV remote, because thats easier than realizing what the people in the promo videos were doing, which are possible interactions with a game using the motion sensitivity.

Like I said. I may be partial to Nintendo, but I do look into the other systems and see what they're doing.

It's entirely feasible Elemmire just comes into threads about Nintendos going ons just to start shit. See example: the GBA FFIV thread. This thread. Any future Nintendo related thread.

Elemmire this is comming from someone that doesnt really despise you, as I'm sure a lot of others in this thread do, but over 80% of your posts either repeat something that you said in another thread, or are totaly off-topic/useless.

Falsey

I never neglected that, Falsey :\ but I don't come in and just say completely rude shit to people that's off topic like Panda. My posts might repeat.. but that's because people just don't seem to really understand a damn thing I'm saying.

And Skaw.. motion sensors are also not new.. taking motion sensors and putting it in a controller isn't what I'd say exactly brand new. Interesting new idea for games.. perhaps.. but nothing amazingly new.. never seen before. Just because it's motion sensors in a remote control doesn't mean it's special from motion sensors in other shit (like VR games that I've played before). I don't really think a TV remote is a good way to go for games, personally. It just doesn't seem very comfortable.

That is the entire point.

No one is saying the technology is new. Just the application. Sony and Xbox are sticking to the same thing, Nintendo is branching off. Rather than being 3 companies doing the same thing. It's now 2 companies doing the same thing, and one doing their own thing.

Really, there was no reason to buy all 3 consoles if one holds your favorite exlusive titles, as titles are generally put out on all 3. Now Nintendo holds a bargaining chip. Rather than just buying one and settling on that because A) your favorite game is simultaneously released anyway or B) your favorite exclusive titles will eventually be released anyway(IE: Splinter Cell.) Nintendo will have, shock and awe here, unique playstyles and entirely different games.

except this new idea is something a lot of us weren't interested in -_- that it looks uncomfortable for gaming :\ that's what Cubs was basically saying from the beginning as far as I gathered.

And just because it doesn't look comfortable, doesn't mean it isn't.

Take a look a the PS3 controller, that thing looks like a thumb knuckle buster. Doesn't necessarily mean it will be.

Why do you post? :?

Hell, the Revolution and PS3 controllers still have a big time gap between now and then to finalize what they want to do. The only one stuck with what they've planned out now is Microsoft, as the 360s are boxed and ready to ship.

why do you? I put my opinion of 1) the new controller and 2) how Nintendo is to me (as in their game variety + systems in general) and I get flamed from all ends of the forum -_-

1) You know nothing of the controller outside of what it looks like, and part of it's functionality. So why even comment on it's comfortability? Were you at the TGS? Were you in the promo videos holding it? Did you ever have horrible palm strain holding a TV remote? If so, you must have some weird muscle condition.

2) Thats fine, but the way you give your comments on Nintendo are derogatory. And you still wonder why Nintendo fans are harping on you?

Theres nothing wrong with giving your opinion, you're just going about it the wrong way. The entirely wrong way.

It has the same setup as the PS2 controller it's just more rounded on the grips by far. Don't let grips confuse you. It's basically a GC style with PS2 layout and to be right on the dot you remember that Microsoft controller for PC back in the day when PC controllers were just getting big? Same grip style as that. I don't see it being a knucle duster it's more normal than the Nintendo one. The Nintendo one is insane but I bet it's that way for a reason. If you'll rememeber the GC controller was odd at first (for most of us and most mags) then all of a sudden the way the games were styled it wasn't odd but surprisingly fitting. Nintendo has odd ways of making htings fit and I have no doubt in my mind that this thing wont be fitting and conned normal a few weeks after release.
