I recently started over on Quez with a RL friend.. we both played on Diabolos from 2004 to 2007. We're enjoying ourselves and the tweaks for new players has made the low level grind much more bearable. (nexus cloak! xp boost!!) I took up fishing (again) and my buddy has taken on gardening to help us cover the cost of gear and adventuring.
Having already done the grinding / seeking / waiting / dying on a server I loved makes starting over a little difficult.. especially when I had great friends, LS and plenty of financial backing to support whatever I wanted to get into. So I've painted this little picture to say how much I appreciate when a stranger lends a hand to help with anything and everything.
I was caring for my chocobo last night in Windy when I received a /t {Hello!} from a player named Ladybelle. I was currently on bst37/whm17 (I am a galka and slacking on lvling whm) I figured it would be a joke about my gimped sub or possibly my choice of character name.. Ladybelle simply asked {position}? I stated that I was at the auction house posting some items before logging out. Ladybelle pops up shortly after and offers to trade me and puts their Kirin's Osode in the box and clicks accept. Needless to say I accepted the trade and thanked them very much. Ladybelle said they quit a year ago and was unable to give it away because everyone in their LS already had one. Lucky me!
I understand this is no longer the most sought after piece of gear that it once was.. it is still a huge boost for a low level to have on hand and something to look forward to using when I finally ding 75. Ladybelle simply asked that I do not sell it.. easy enough as I plan to wear this on my bst and possibly on nin / sam / brd if I decide to go those routes.
So.. I just wanted to say thanks again to Ladybelle. I'm not sure if they were a pure Quez player, merged from Midgard, or even use QCDN. Regardless, I'd like others to know what a nice gesture it was for them to give away an Osode. Whether its 10 million price tag when I was playing prior to the 1-2 million price tag it has now.. it still put a smile on my face.
