Ive been doing alot of thinking lately, mainly bacuase i went to buy rabit hides and they jumped from 2000 to 10000.

Gil sellers ONLY make money because they have all that gil to sell right? It only works because when people buy the gil, they buy the expensive items instead of the cheap ones. I know your probably thinking, yeah, common sense, right?

Well when we buy those items from people most of them are probaly gil sellers, who turn around and sell the gil bought right back to the company.

The fix:

Buy gil, and drop it.

Who would do it? Well, we could start a donation thing, get enough to buy like 100k at a time, and just drop it. Of course there will be trust issues, but it WOULD work. A major drop in circulating gil would increase the worth of every 1 gil. Ill put money in to start it if i can get enough people, prefferably donators, to help.

I vote we just MPK the gilsellers in real life D:

Yes, wasting peoples money for a virtual cause that wont matter a few years down the road seems like a brilliant idea! Excellent work Mr. Holmes.

Goddam, I should go camp Jaggidy for a bit.

Let's say you buy a lot and drop it. Massive deflation occurs, ige raises prices per mill, but people still use them because 1mill gil is now worth way more than it use to thanks to your deflation attempts.

End result: Ige gets more sales, temporary deflation followed by normal inflation rate, people out a bunch of money.

There'll be a time soon where a stack of Fire Crystals will be 30k and people will see it as "normal" ^_^ ~ and people would've been bored of complaining by then =)

ding ding! winner winner (as usual, rones is correcto)

Rones: Don't you think the game needs some MAJOR gil sinks though? There's just too much gil going around out there.

What about if SE were to introduce some really sick pieces of gear? Rare/EX, lvl 75, buyable only from NPC, and costing, like, a ridiculous amount of gil?

One thing i thought of is, buy gil and report the name of the player who sent it to you, SE delets the charicter, IGE loses all the gil and profit

Or how about SE just plain Sue IGE for violationg there terms of service, i don't see why they have haven't done it yet.

Problem with that is you violate the ToS, and therefore you would get the same treatment as the gilseller you set up. SE can't run a sting because it would violate their own ToS, which would kind of make their point moot.

If you want to take gil out of the game.....just buy crap from NPCs. Sure....you cant get everything from NPCs but its a little help......better than nothin.

yeah buying from NPC's helps, and in many cases its cheaper than the AH. if enough people do that it will be better than dropping gil, because you'd both be removing gil, and adding materials to the economy at the same time

Let's see, maybe because gilsellers pay their monthly fee, and for every person that quits the game because of gilsellers there's 10 more that continue to play the game because they can have nice gear without having to spend time farming.

They won't do anything about gil sellers until it's something that would benefit their bottom line.

Great idea, but it has been done so that now it's wired to a mule with no worth whatsoeve, then sent to you so if you turn in the name you're only getting rid of their mule...

id like to buy from NPC. i would LOVE to buy some lumber from the wood working guild, but wouldnt you know it; everytime im at the guild 3 other players appear out of nowhere 4 seconds before guild opens and buy up everything i want before the NPC even talks to me.

Hey maybe we should make a list. There are some notorious tarus out there buyin it all out lol

**Conspiracy theory**

It just may be a lot of the people playing since JP launch, that are jacking up prices.

Before you call me crazy, hear me out...

"They" probably have more gil than they know what to do with right now. All their jobs are 75 and equipped with the best gear. They don't need any of the items on the AH and if they do, they can afford to pay the outrageous prices. I'm pretty sure many are also selling off their excess gil to gilselling companies.

So, what's a bunch of players that have every job leveled to 75 to do now??

Screw with the economy!

Why?

Because they can.

Out of boredom, they are leveling mules and farming/camping/questing all the items that NA players still need ... As well as taking on all the NM's/HNMs with their mains. "Stupid razy amelican prayers" buy the all items at the inflalated costs because they don't want to farm their own. They have "JP ONRY" message boards so it wouldn't be hard for them to plan this all out.

If you still take the time to farm for an income or for crafting, the increases seem all relative because you can sell your items at the higher rates. If your main goal in this game is to get to 75 as quickly as possible, then you're shit out of luck.

It's mainly hurting the new players, most of which are NA. Those playing since NA release are catching up, with the PS2 players not far behind. The EU player base, didn't make much of an impact on the games economy. However, in a few months, there will be another platform possibly with more new players (mostly NA).

I almost forgot mention the expansion pack.. The JP client will get most likely the first run at all the new areas, jobs, mobs and drops. They can put any new items up for bid on the AH, for ridiculous prices, because there is no price history. Of course we'll all snatch 'em up because we've never seen them before.

I do believe (actually... hope) that when the new expansion and 360 release comes around, this will all smooth itself out.

If it is not the JP, then we can at least blame Canada.

wanna take gil out of the game? have SE make a serious casino... you see how much irl casino's make a day, most large casinos in big cities make over 2 mil a day. most casino games have a 40-48% chance of winning so you don't feel like you're losing money all the time while they rake in the cash... simple, easy. big gambling casino.

im glad i didnt just get burned and theres actually ideas floating around. True, buying from npc would be better then just dropping it lol. The only thing im worried about is the new xbox 360 players. They are going to start the game and not have a chance at getting the lvl 1 armor.

Thats not fair to them. SE better have a fix in mind or they are going to loose alot of buisness from xbox.
