Awww, that sucks. I know I checked the game this morning before I left for work (which was basically right after maintenance ended). I had logged out at an inn and was able to log in fine to check stuff (ok, I did some hunter logs and a quest >.> obsessive) before I logged back out. Was there another maintenance or something?

I have no idea. It just seems everyone I have seen complaining has their toon in an inn. Maybe it only affected certain data groups after they aligned them.

Grats for finishing the story. Without spoilers, how did you enjoy it? I just looked up the relic reborn quest for our relic weapons and it looks like we have to primal grind on hard mode, which I'm all for.
I have to say, after Ifrit the story really bogs down until the second primal. The first half keeps you around Black Shroud, but then after getting to Costa del Sol the game obnoxiously ships you all around the world for something like four levels. It picks up again after all that, and there's a tremendous payoff in the run up to the last two dungeons.
Overall, I'd give the story a solid B+.

I started the relic weapon quest yesterday before maintenance. I already have the base weapon needed (bought it after I hit 50 because it looked like something nice to have), but I think I'll try and convert and set the quicktongue III I need by myself. Since you want Alchemist at 50 anyway if you want to go anywhere in crafting, it'll be killing two birds with one stone.

I logged in for a bit this morning, did some stuff on LNC and logged off in an inn. Tried to log back in before I left for class to change my free company board, but oops! 3102. Good thing I'm at school all day.

I don't know where people get all these awful tank experiences. If anything, any bad tanks I have usually fix themselves up once you let them know what they're doing wrong, or even just apologize. I'm a pretty tolerant healer, though.

Shit, the worst players (with the worst attitude) I've encountered so far have been BLMs, of all people.

These were taken on my first try running the last story dungeon. We were on the second-to-last boss of the dungeon, and had forty minutes left (anyone whose finished it knows why that's not as big a deal as he's making it out to be). Dude was such an awful person to run with, I really hope he never got his win.

If the WAR has Flash he's already better than, like, 80% of the WARs out there, and chances are if he's got Flash he's going to make that little extra push for Convalescence. I personally don't notice Convalescence when I'm on WHM because I'm already The Best Healer. Divine Seal, Shroud of Saints, I do it all.

Just hit 50, and I'm figuring before I do Hard mode primals I'm gonna buckle down and get ACN and THM to 30. Wanderer's Palace is fun, though. Did it the Normal Way, and while it's nice I can see why people prefer sac pulling to bosses. Just need to grab Swiftcast for that.

NERD RAGE ACTIVATE!!!!!!! lol that was funny

My personal next goal after getting to 50 is to get my other classes to 30 so I can get all the jobs done :P I think only after that might I do the gathering/crafting stuff. I really don't care for that stuff in any game. Sitting still is not something I wanna do.

Crafting is way too addictive in this game... and then you start developing cross-class skills, and you realize you have a problem.

are any of the crafting skills even useful for the battle ones? O.o

No, but the crafting skills are useful for other crafting classes.

Right now I've got a pretty deep CP well using Tricks of the Trade/Stead Hand + Hasty Touch/ Manipulation. Provided I don't get a long string of failures, I can easily push 50%+ quality with all NQ materials. All HQ materials is pretty much a guaranteed HQ for me, and it'll probably stay that way until I get to 50** crafts.

I actually have to commend you for your chocobo's name haha. That's pretty great and I wish I had thought of it first. I named mine after my Wyvern in FFXI since Dragoon doesn't get one in this game.

I need to work on getting some other cross class skills as well. For now I just have the level 15 Leatherworker and Weaver skills which have both been incredibly useful so far. Crafting is almost like gambling to me though, which is what makes it so addictive imo haha. Started leveling armorer a few weeks back and ended up just powering straight through to level 50. Making money in MMOs with the right kind of crafting system is always so much fun for me. Often times more fun than the actual combat classes lol. I just started Miner a day ago since they seem to make a pretty penny off of me, and I plan on using the mats farmed from it to level Goldsmith and Blacksmith to probably 50. I probably won't touch my lancer for a while now since I started this, and I figure since everyone is so busy rushing to 50 on their DoW and DoM classes I can cash in on the initial rush of players starting an mmo. Because of this it seems the amount of suppliers for crafted gear is smaller than it will be in the future. May as well profit as much as I can now!

Sort of off-topic does anyone here have fishing to 50 ish yet? If so about how much gil does fishing pull in at the higher levels? After you get to a certain level will it sort of keep itself afloat like other classes' selling their crafted gear but by selling fish instead? I think there's a smaller amount of fishers out there compared to the other two gathering classes, so I think the market would be easier to manipulate. Is this assumption correct?

I actually spent a good hour trying to think of a silly name for my chocobo :P

And ya, sure wish Dragoons got a pet dragon. Maybe in an expansion. Can be a "way to mend the rift between dragon and eorzians" or whatever. Get an egg, raise a dragon to try and mend the breach.

pretty sure that yoshi has stated that drg will never be getting a wyvern pet in XIV, he wants drg to be a standalone DD and not have to depend on a pet. Tho it would be really cool so see an attack or something that implemented a wyvern in someway. Maybe just one attack on a cooldown or something with an animation of a XI'ish looking wyvern swooping down and hitting your target and flying off again. That'd be awesome.

I named my chocobo Boko!

That makes me sad :( I really liked the way DRG was in FFXI. It still did good damage and the pet made things interesting. Oh well.

nice :) I need to figure out where I wanna get the materia to infuse into the weapon I had for my Gae Bolg, but AH is kinda costly and I'm cheap :P

But at least yesterday I got Ifrit's Harpoon or whatever it's called. FC and I spent about 10 hours grinding out hard mode ifrit and we got everyone (except one person :( ) their weapon. And then some really (8 SCH, 4 BLM, 4 DRG, 2 PLD, 2 MNK, 2 WAR, 1 SMN, and 1 BRD). Was fun

The Warrior has to have GLD at 15. So he's going to have flash and Convalescence anyway.

Slowly trying to get subclasses up for Monk. But I then get caught up in trying to improve my weapon from primal or relic. Got stuff killed before maintenance, and on hydra.

Lucky, I downed ifrit 30+ times before i saw a single harpoon drop >.<. Luckily i was the only drg in the party when it finally did. Now just need to continue farming tomes for my relic, man I'm really starting to hate CM >=(
