The new rules of qcdn

The refrence is to the Eulore fiasco a couple months ago, where sculli envoked a rule out of nowhere that had suposedly been around forever, but no one had ever seen it used. The fact that it was used to defend a permabanned member didnt help much either.
It had been used before, just not in reference to quotes. Sculli had made a bunch of people change their sigs before, just quotes was a new twist to an old rule.

Also, what does "non-work safe" mean? Does that mean images that would be inappropriate to have your boss see over your shoulder at a corporate cubicle? That's certainly been one of my biggest concerns on this forum, considering some users' avatars barely sidestep the "porn" definition by a centimeter length of clothing (or Cheetos, as the case may be).

This has been a concern of mine as well. I don't surf FFXI sites when I'm at home. I use that time to play the game. It's when I'm sitting at work for 12 hours straight with nothing better to do than stare at a printer duplexing 2000 pages that I suddenly get the urge to visit QCDN.

I've had my supervisor question me about the cheetos picture. Thankfully he was cool about it after I explained that I wasn't browsing some bizarre porn site.
^^

Unfortunately, I have a lot of supervisors and some are more strict than he is. I appreciate this rule for that reason.

Thanks!

off topic but whoa what happen to sculli?
whos this new guy? btw i tried some research for myself and well......none avail to tell me why we have a new admin . FYI first time i've been here in months.

Dragon Ryder,... there are a few posts in general about it but Sculli's been extremely busy and decided to hand over the reigns. Some like it, some dont, the sky fell and now where are building a utopian empire where froot loops are no longer enslaved to bathtubs.

I've had a similar problem at work as well, and while my job allows me small occasions to browse the forum, I'd probably be in hot water if my cubicle was positioned in a way that a manager could easily see what I was viewing. For that reason, I've had the opportunity to build lightning fast reflexes in switching Firefox tabs.

But I think the idea for the images rule has a broader use than just work, too. Some parents of teenagers who play this game as well as other posters that simply find these images disturbing will feel more at ease with this forum because of it. I know this will be a huge disappointment to some boys, but I think it's a smart move.

I have to say im liking the way the boards are going to where its more better judgement and the rules are molded by everyone and i can't wait to see whats around the corner for QCDN as a whole

And neither are the cheese puffs (sorry Westyle). :nyam:

But seriously... I think those are pretty straightforward, reasonable rules. Good stuffs I think we can all live by.

I don't like this new 'no pron' rule.

If Carerra goes, I'm out this joint. Be strong mitch!

One thing about the rules, what about alt's/sockpuppets? While they simply be banned if created for flaming/spam, or will they be exposed and all accounts punished? Since we got the Burning Circle currently and the possibility of the Flameboard returning, what's your opinion on that?

Actually that would be a good thing to address, although I can't imagine why anyone would think it'd be allowed in the first place.

I know it probably would not be allowed, just curious on the form of punishment, since I can see it becoming something that some people will draw sides on, with either a simple sockpuppet deletion or as severe as a multiple account ban.

Personally I would hope for a mulitple account ban.
