THE OFFICIAL 2008 FOOTBALL SEASON SMACK TALKIN THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to give the nod to the Giants as the best team in football right now. They're 4-0 and the defending champs. Eli is looking solid, looks like he's found his way.

I agree totally, and I'm not a giant's fan at all. It's not just the team either, but it's the way the entire franchise is run. It doesn't seem like that long ago that you had Tiki chirping away, Eli was a 'letdown', and Coughlin was constantly on the hotseat. It's a good thing that the front office had patience. They ended up really building a team. I mean what other franchise can suspend their top WR and have the 5th/6th guy on the depth chart step in and be a monster. What team can have a future HOFer retire like Strahan, then have a probowl monster like Osi go down and still have a dominant D-line?

I wish the lions were that well run :/

ignore brydan. he hasn't been able to be this happy about his team in years. the Saints are not a bad team. bad teams don't have QB's that lead the NFL in passing yardage. bad teams don't have RB's that run back consecutive punts. bad teams dont shut down the arguably #1 RB in the NFL time and time again.

i can point out the key reasons we lost yesterday. Martin Gramatica, refs that ignore face mask penalties, Martin Gramatica, mistakes we made, Martin Gramatica, oh and Martin Gramatica. (im willing to bet money we'd be 4-1 if it wernt for him missing key feild goals.)

Saints lose Tracy Porter for the year to a broken wrist. He was our starting Rookie CB.

What? Wait WHAT????

NFL Box score from the Vikings-'Aints.

Your offense scored?! I see Henderson scoring in the 1st quarter. Then I see Gramatica and Bush punt returns. 'Aints offense DIDN'T score, thank you very much. The "punchless" Vikings on the other hand had two, count em double the Saints offensive touchdowns.

You guys should be 4-1? What are you smoking? That means, among other shoulda, coulda, wouldas, you think you should've beat the Redskins. LAWL!

Don't even blame the officials either. We smacked your offense in every category. 'Aint's lost because they turned the ball over 3 times. As Bill Parcells once said, your record tells you who you are.

Yes, I'm a total homer and hater. But Zaltana's right. The Skins have been good (see: playoffs 2 out of 3 years past) but not GREAT. This year they are GREAT. I am looking forward to a home playoff game. In the same breath, I'll also hang myself if Jason Campbell gets hurt.

Now will someone please find Kotsu?

How is Henderson scoring a TD from a Bree's pass not the offense not scoring??? I don't get it! What is your definition of the offense scoring?? LOL Our first series was the only series we had where we didnt turn the ball over, or have a penalty, and they marched and scored very quickly.

Did you watch the game Brydan? They scored on our turnovers. Bree's got sacked and lost the ball, they got it on our 3 yard line. Second score was 5 minutes in the 4th qt, there only true TD of the game, which was setup by a penalty by us. Yes there offense put it in the endzone, but they only scored off our turnovers. Whenever they got the ball on there on, they went 3 and out everytime.

Also I agree, good teams win close games! We don't and we choke down the stretch. The ref blown calls could have been enough for us to win, but like a bad team, we didn't make it count in the end. Grammatica is part of the TEAM and he sucks ass, and as long as he's with us, well, we'll suck. As long as we keep having false starts, we'll suck!

Talent wise, yes we are good, but so are the bengals and that doesn't translate to wins. We'll see if the penalties can be corrected. I still have faith.

WOOT!!!!! THEY BENCHED AUTOMATICA'S ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Twice the fate of the game rested on his feet and twice he has failed. that is why i say we would be 4-1 if it were not for him. the saints could have still made every mistake they did (and the ref could have still turned blind eyes to face mask pulling) and we still would have won those games. i would have benched him after the Denver game personally. i just hope the relief kicker doesn't make the same mistakes.

Anglis, how does this sound? Bill Cowher Coach of the Saints 2009. THAT WILL GIVE THEM SOME FUCKING DISCIPLINE

Double Post:

Saints put up with haslett for too long so i dont think theyd fire Payton, however if they had a coaching change and snagged cowher, this is a favorite for the championship next year.

Lack of discipline is 100% Coaching Fault this team is looking worse then the eagles as far as underachieving goes

I'd take Sean Payton as Offensive Coordinator and Cowher as head coach any day!

And yes Zalt! The guy they're bringing in is Tyler Melhalf, a guy they actually drafted, but cut after preseason. He was perfect on field goals, but wasn't very good on kick off.

so the total opposite of the jackass we just benched. i can live with that.

That's all well and good but two weeks from now, after Carolina has beaten the Bucs and Saints, the Panthers are going to be sitting fat and happy alone, atop the NFC South.

im not gonna lie, that is a game i'm worried about. the panthers are not joking around this year and it looks like the favor is tilted toward them. But anglis can back me up on this one, the moment you count the Saints down and out is the moment they surprise you the most.

I think if we handle the Raiders, it's on!

After that, Colston (might play against the Raiders) and Shockey will be back for the Panthers. Losing Porter for the year hurts big time, but I think we'll be ok with our weapons on offense.

We lose to the Raiders. Season over.

thanx to the stupid cable company here i cant watch the game, but im monitoring the highlights on NFL.com. the smile has never left my face. :)

*edit*

Raiders get sent home packing again, Saints let Deuce stretch his legs, and to brydan: i'm sorry for your loss.......to a formally win-less team. hahahaha

Well at least he should be happy that Dallas fell lol, they're still 2nd place in the divison.

Saints are last place still. I can't believe Atlanta won. I was hoping the curse of the NFC South would end this year. So far, it seems last to first could happen again!

yeah we are last in our division. but only by one game. the NFC south is insane this year. all teams are within reach of each other. makes for good damn good football. and dont even mention that damn Atlanta game. how the hell the bears let them get that FG in. weren't there like 2 seconds left when the falcons fell behind at the end?

Well our defense is slowly getting better, and we shut down the Vikings and Raiders rushing game which both were top 4 I believe in rushing offense, so we should match up well Carolina and the Falcons.

Today, we finally stopped the streak of 21 straight games of a turn over. Looked what happened when we didn't turn the ball over, and we didn't have any critical game penalties.
