The "Perfect" Album?

Wow, either alot of you are very open-minded and accepting when it comes to music, or you don't take the word 'perfect' very seriously.

I have about 11,000 sounds on my iPod, and i only get things i enjoy. I hate all rap(minus Timbaland) and cant stand country. I only DL things i like.

To Excalibur:

Huh? Who's Exodus (group)?

The 'proper' (first name then surname) way to write the artist's name would be Hikaru Utada, and the album is called Exodus. Although admittedly, Deep River would probably be considered better, I still think Exodus deserves mention as well.

Hmmm...
in no order

The Who - Who's Next
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Jay-Z - The Black Album
NOFX - Pump up the Valium
Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bullocks Here's the Sex Pistols
Godsmack - Godsmack
Nirvana - Bleach
Face to Face - Big Choice
Sum41 - Chuck
Rancid - Let's Go

All that comes to mind right now.

The one and only 'perfect' album would be Snoop Dogg, doggystyle.

Paul Oakenfeld dropped perfection over and over with his music, although I don't listen to it much anymore.

Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
I totally disagree here. imo, there are so many filler tracks on that album; I guess it's subjective though. I really only like SP's "softer songs" like 1979, Tonight Tonight, Today, etc.

Linkin park- Hybrid theory (my december was not on HT, only on the japanese bonus tracks and as a b-side to one step closer)
A perfect Circle- Mer de nomes
Thursday- Full collapse
Deftones-White pony
Bush- Sixteen stone
LP- Meteorea
Adema- Adema
To/Die/For- ANY album (IV, Jaded, Little Deaths,Epilogue,All eternity,Wounds wide open)
Sick Puppies- Dressed up as life
Spineshank- Synthetic

there are very few albums i like every song on, but these are some i can remember, but linkin park and To/Die/For have been my primary bands for years. If you have not heard of To/Die/For check out www.todieforlove.com. They are a band from finland and their music is very deep and very awesome. I wouldnt have their logo tatood on my back for nothin as the biggest tattoo i will ever have.. I recommend their album all eternity to new comers.

if its an album i can say there isnt one song on it i do not like, then its perfect. Those are few and far between for me, but that would be the definition of a perfect album...

The Clash - London Calling and The Clash
Daft Punk - Discovery
Massive Attack - Collected
Modest Mouse - Moon and Antarctica
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation

I think the whole album flows pretty well together with all the back and forth between the harder and softer songs. It showed a lot of different sides of Corgan and while Bullet With Butterfly Wings, 1979, etc may have been the hits of the album, there's a handful of songs that imo are much better and more well written. I was always a fan of Thru the Eyes of Ruby and Fuck You (An Ode to No One). The latter is wicked fun to let loose with on the guitar.

Yeah, thrash metal. I thought Utada was one of their albums or something. Don't listen to them, they're terrible.

I can't quite say what my definition of perfect would be, other than it's alot more than that. I guess for starters it would have to be perfect instrumentally, vocally, and lyrically. The lyrics would have to be profound, they'd have to mean something. Also, every track(save for maybe one or two) on the album would have to blow my mind in all three of those categories. I guess that's what perfect to me is.

I can't believe I forgot APC <3

Everything by Autechre and Aphex Twin, including all there other alias'.

I didn't like Exodus, she could've done much better for a debut here in America. Some songs are ok, but they don't really have much of a meaning like her Japanese songs.

But i have to say:

Her Deep River and Ultra Blue albums <3

Radiohead - OK Computer definately... I'll play through some of my music collection and see if I can find any other really awesome albums.

The Beatles- Abbey Road
Coldplay - A rush of blood to the head (bring on the 40 y/o virgin jokes)
Rage Against the Machine - Rage against the machine
Outkast - Aquemini
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik

Honorable mention : Beastie Boys - Ill Communication and Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californiacation.

New addition
Automatic Loveletter - Recover EP
Taking Back Sunday - Notes From the Past
Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News
Motion City Soundtrack - Even If It Kills Me

HARRAAAAA

Although I generally shun these types of threads, I am strangely compelled to contribute some of my recent favorites:
GENGHISdmmbig.jpg

Genghis Tron - Dead Mountain Mouth

Furious grind and goofy techno in a knifefight.

isisoceanic.png

ISIS - Oceanic

Beautiful, meditative, and sometimes crushing.

165837-72.jpg

Marnie Stern - In Advance of the Broken Arm

This lady knows her fucking fretboard.

15199.lightbulb-sun.gif

Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun

Just listen to 'Russia on Ice' once before you die. That's all I ask.

Personally, I'd have to list several Pink Floyd albums, as others have. In addition, I'd offer:
Beastie Boys: Paul's Boutique
Stevie Ray Vaughan: The Sky is Crying
New York Philharmonic: Tchaikovsky's Greatest Hits, Vol 1 (masterful recording)
Amy Winehouse: Back to Black
(Various Artists): Buena Vista Social Club
Cheech and Chong: Greatest Hit (Sister Mary Elephant, anyone?)

Each are great in their own way, not ranked in any particular order. :)

few albums I can actually listen to in their entirety; this constitutes the "perfect album" for me.

Collective Soul - Collective Soul
Muse - Absolution
Juno Reactor - Shango
Nightwish - Once
The Cure - Disintegration
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Tool - AEnima
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
Mannheim Steamroller - Fresh Aire III
AFI - Black Sails in the Sunset

more to come...?

NoFX- Punk In Drublic
Radiohead- OK computer
Green day - Kerplunk
Ozzy Osbourne- The ozman Cometh(this one is cheating, its a compilation)
Sublime- Sublime
Elvis Costello- This years model, And Armed Forces
The Strokes- Is this it

Among my more favorite albums listed in no particular order. I can not skip a track on any of these and be perfectly happy to sit and listen.
