I've been having issues at the log in screen as well. The game will freeze at the "Accesing Server Lobby" screen. Sometimes I get thru, other times not.

I've also been getting a bug where an NPC will dissappear after I talk to them. Specifically the Chocobo Taru in Windy. After I feed my chocobo, the NPC dissappears and there is just a floating name that I can't click on.
 
im not sure, but i highly doubt it. I never have signet on
 
signet test was a no go - it does not seem to be the culprit.

Fire and I are having the same problem. Neither of us have been able to get into the game since the update
 
there is indeed some network related error, last night i also had problems logging in POL it was unable to retrieve friend list or messages or cannot log in at all.
 
So much for the BS response "It is not our problem, try to login at a later time". I've been trying since yesterday morning, more than 24 hrs have gone by and I STILL can't login.

You call a GM, and their "oh so friendly and intelligent helping customer support" just give you their moronic responses asking you to either email SE, or just say its not their problem and there's nothing they can do to help you. No matter where you go, whether its the site or a GM in the game they just tell you to go elsewhere because no one wants to take responsibility and deal with the problem.

I'm seriously just about ready to find their customer support number, and bring hell to the supervisor or manager because this is ridiculous. If it is happening to various people, happening to SOME of their characters and not all, that indicates it is not a problem on our end. Its something to do with the update, and they better get it fixed soon. Ugh...... -_-
 
TO be honest, if it WAS their servers, then EVERYONE would be having problems. Thats all there is to it. So what Im thinking is that there also might be a compatibility issue somewhere around there, with the systems people are playing on, and what the update installed onto those systems. Or maybe its just a connection issue between certain ISP's and SE. SE's servers arent to blame if everyone isnt affected.

In your next posts, please post your ISP, what system youre playing on (exactly, i.e. Im playin on a Dell Inspiron E1505,) and if you do/dont use windower (<-- probably pointless, but it might have a bug). Also list the type of router you use.

My mains stuck in bastok, and i cant log into it without getting R0 upon entry, most annoying. Second day of this bullshit

AMD Athlon (TM) XP 2200+

Using Brandson's UI Mod (version .10c - most recent)
Using Windower with no plugins (version 3.24 - most recent)
 
ISP: Time Warner
System: PS2
Unable to use search function or AH, brother was unable to zone into dynamis on his main which is on the same account.

We went to our backup ISP, a dial-up account (Internet America), and had no issues.

Additionally while doing the KSNM30 ODS one of our members wasn't able to zone into the shrine, same problem everyone is reporting (r0 etc etc). However, we saw him zone in and moving around, however we could not communicate with him at all, all tells sent to him recieved a communication error. Very freaky issue we have here!
 
it really does sound like the information being sent from SE isnt getting into his systems. Because SE is receiving all the info sent from the player (the moving, typing, etc..) Ports does sound like the issue, but thats already been proved false

It's happening to random PS2 players too so unless they're dropping the compatibility it's not related only to configuration problems with PC hardware. (And considering I've played on this same machine for 2 years with no such issue I'm not inclined to believe something all of a sudden conflicts)

There's a large thread on blue gartr already with people listing ISPs and connection types. It's all random, cable, dsl, dial-up, windower, no windower, even the zones that fail for people are random.

While their diagnostics might tell them everything is fine with their server connections, I'm guessing there is some bit of code that got changed in the update causing it to drop people after zone changes.

i can get on all my mules perfectly fine. i was stuck in ru ann gardens, but somehow got out. now im stuck in saru...

and there is no way this is my connection... im surfing the internet and streaming videos as we speak... SE has fucked up majorly.
 
well, when i unhook my network, i can get on, meaning if i hook straight up from the modem to the PS2. So, it has something to do with my ip address coming from my router. i have a Linksys wireless router, but everything is hard wired but my Wii... i also have full internet connectivity.

im just going to hang tight until there is some fix, because this is BS...
 
if someone could help me, give me a suggestion on to how to change the mac address of my modem and changing my IP i would appriciate it
 
I also have Linksys router, maybe the problems lyes there. :/

I'm having exact same issue, also on PS2 but my ISP is Comcast.
Can't go into dynamis, can't use search, can't buy from ah but I can sell oddly enough or can't even see whose in my LS.

I think the download was so big some of the files came over corrupt ><
 
Today I was able to move my character off the Sandy ship by asking my friend (who's in NYC and a different ISP) to log me in and warp Davion to Whitegate.

Once I got home and logged in today I was able to move finally.
