The Purpose of Sea Torques

Idk I don't even mess with gorgets or chiv chains (lol) on my war when using Great Axe anymore. If I'm using raging rush, then I would want the acc bonus from fort. torque, and if I'm using Steel cyclone, I'd want the acc AND the 5 VIT from the torque. Same if I was using Rampage I would use temp. torque full time.

there are all these scientific calculations but. Here's an easier way to look at it. Eva skill > Eva. So if I have an evasion earring and an ethereal, 3 skill > 5 eva. Since having the higher skill gives you a better chance to meet or exceed a monster's skill. Imo adding reg acc etc is only marginal compared to adding direct skill. But this depends on if you do single or multi hit WS's etc, I hear sometimes gorgets can be better but I haven't seen it on war.

I wouldn't necessarily relate it to evasion. A single weapon skill adds 1 attack and 1 accuracy at low levels until a certain point it adds 1 attack and 0.9 accuracy, I believe it's post 200 skill. In this case, sea torques give only 6.3 accuracy versus the 5 from Chivalrous or 10 from PCC. Obviously, the Chivalrous loses out for the greater majority since it has less accuracy and the strength is not as usefull when TPing. However, in the case of PCC, it wins in accuracy, but it does lack the 7 added attack. Now it's just a matter of whether 3-4 accuracy wins out against 7 attack which is a give and take for many. In my opinion, I prefer accuracy more than anything else while others enjoy their accuracy and would prefer the attack.

Also depends on your food and the rest of your gear. For example, if you end up somewhat *over* 95% accuracy (but are capped to that), you can easily spare the 3-4 accuracy because you're not actually losing anything.

Furthermore, you want both accuracy and attack: it's ineffective to hit super reliably for pitiful damage (except when getting WS points to break latents), and it's ineffective to have big hard smacks that never connect. The important thing to ask is what sort of tradeoff ratio you get in this slot compared to other slots. Say you had a choice between sea torque but wearing more acc in slot X to make up for sea torque's lowered acc, or PCC and wearing more att in slot X to make up for PCC's lack of att. Which one gives the higher total of acc and att?

Unless one piece of gear is flatly better in all its relevant stats than another in the same slot, you generally don't want to consider them in a vacuum.
