So, I wake up today with a bit of a start, and the first thing that comes to mind is...

WTF!?

I had the strangest dream of my entire life today, and I suppose it isn't for the faint of heart, or those with vivid imaginations.

So in this dream I had....I'm on a battlefield. It seemed to be the side of a hill sorta, a short flat area, and to my left was a not so steep decline (which seemingly went nowhere in my dream). Surrounding this area was a bit of a forest.

I seem to be dressed in some odd clothes, not really armor, but kinda like rags and old clothing. Think homeless guy almost. Anyway, me and a band of fighters (apparantly) are running around. The action seems to be intense (this was a bit of a lucid dream) as there are screams and shouts heard in the background. I look around and it seems people dressed similarly to me are fighting (without weapons mind you, so I can only assume it was with fisticuffs) these tall people in red coats...almost identical to the ones the British would have worn in the Revolutionary War.

The really messed up part was, these things had the heads of Goblin Smithy's. Ya know, like in Yuhtunga Jungle? ANyway, some of them were on foot, some were on top of horses for some reason. Anyhow, next thing I know I'm running with some other guy with some sort of stick. This stick seems to be emanating red and blue smoke, thick enough to be fogging up the area. It was my understanding in the dream that we were clouding up the area so the guys in the red coats couldn't see where their horses were, and so they could not escape.

So, these red coat guys (who I remember were like 7 feet tall) start retreating into the woods, I see a few of them still on the battlefield but they are standing still, like...statues almost. I could only assume they had been defeated or something. Anyhow, as I'm running towards the forest, I stumble upon another strange object.

The object itself is hard to explain. It was shaped sorta like an uppercase "Y" only the forked part of it were shorter, and the vertical part was longer. The forked parts were cylindrical with holes in the end, and the vertical handle-like part had a hole in the bottome as well. Kinda reminded me of a machine part of some kind, to what machine I would have no idea.

Anyhow, I pick up this object, and immediately I'm using it as a weapon. I'm trudging through the forest, all of the action seemingly ahead of me. I can still hear shouts up ahead, so I'm running. Now here's where it gets really messed up.

As I'm running through the forest the redcoat guys are sitting down, again I assume they are defeated. So, I'm using my strange weapon thingy and knocking their heads off. Kinda like tee-ball. But it wasn't gross like you would expect. I would swing, their heads would fly into a nearby tree or something, and explode, quite literally, like a watermelon. Seeds and all.

As I'm running I see more heads (which again, looked like the heads of goblin smithy's) and I do the same as I did to the others.

Then I woke up.

It was the strangest f'n dream I've ever had lol, and no, I wasn't on any drugs. I figured I'd share this with ya'll since it was so odd, and I just couldn't keep it to myself :D

Lecan dreams about a Revolutionary War with Goblin-head British people? And their heads are made out of watermelons! Can I have one from your dream? Watermelons are good. :D

We all have crazy dream and it's really funny ^_^

Dreams...

Hmmm. Have you been leveling through Yuhtunga or Yhoator Jungle recently?

You, like many others going through those areas, seem to have a rather strong hatred for Goblin Smithys.
To be smashing their heads off and watching it explode, your unconscious mind has a screaming rage against the Smithys.
Dreams are usually a representation of what you truely think about something, past all of the barriers that the conscious mind creates. This is why I think you really don't like those poor Smithys. (lol)

I can't explain the rest of the dream really, that would be related to maybe something that you studied recently, something that you read or an interest of yours, maybe.
If you're learning about history, of course you're going to learn about battles and wars. So maybe it's connected to one of those.

Another idea would be to find someone with a dream book and see what it means. That would be interesting actually.

*Flips through the pages of "The Big Book of FFXI Related Dreams"*
"Ah, Goblin Smithy heads...
I've been leveling too much in Crawler's Nest...?
I long for Yuhtunga Jungle...?
Keep paying SE for more gaming time...?"

Either which way, that was probably a fun dream to be in. I wouldn't be too worried about any subconscious thoughts that you may have. You're not crazy, you just probably play too many video games like the rest of us.
Then again...who, in their right minds, wouldn't enjoy taking off a few Smithy heads?

Actually that's why it's so wierd lol. I've been leveling in Garlaige Citadel recently off the Evacuee's, and since I"m not in school I haven't studied much of anything as far as wars go. I have no f'n clue where the revolutionary war bit came from, and I'm not quite sure why they have the heads of goblin smithy's.

However, I must agree, teeing off using goblin smithy heads was quite entertaining.

As far as dreams go, really noone knows much about what causes dreams, what their purpose is (many believe them to be logging memories in your brain, but if that was the case my memory is a few months behind >.>), or even what attributes to what you dreamed. Though outside influences while dreaming do have an effect on the dreamworld. Something as little as a fan running while you sleep could have you dreaming of a fan in your dream, or the wind blowing, or a hurricane. You never know, but still, it's interesting to think about ^_^b

I envy those of you who remember your dreams well enough to write them out ; ; Either I dont remember my dream, or I forget about it after 10 minutes or so even if I wake up with that "Whoa, crazy dream" feeling.

well, the trick to remembering a dream is not going back to sleep. If you wake up in the middle of a dream (not at the end) you generally will remember the dream. However, if you go back to sleep it's like....erased from your memory or something. So basically, if you wanna write about your f'd up dreams, don't go back to sleep after waking up from one, just stay up and try to focus on the details.
