Alright, I'm KINDA getting tired of people saying all the bad things SE does, and not much about the good things, so I've decided to make a game that shows both, the good and the bad of SE.

When the thread seems dead, I'll make a post that includes all the Good, and Bad from everyone's post. Lets get started!!

NOTE: To make sure everyone gets their turn lets make it so that each person can only list 1 good, and 1 bad for now =P. If the thread kinda dies down( like 1-2 pages back), then anyone can post as many good/bad as they want.

Cloc's Good:

Added the new SAM, NIN, and DRG jobs with The Rise of Zilart Expansion.

Cloc's Bad: Added Level 6 Besiged :nono:

Personally, here are mine.

Good: Lots of awesome storyline. Some really fun jobs, and some kick ass enemies. More than just a few hours of playtime before you start getting strong as a character. Plus, <3 Castle Zvahl and Zi'Tah music.

Bad: You have to spend countless hours, some of them extremely frustrating or mind-numbingly boring for that one sweet, sweet cutscene. SE has been known to be a little too fond of the nerf-bat at times, and obviously has it's favorite jobs. And I *still* don't know what the hell the point of PUP was.

Lol i think that was more than 1 one of each lol >.> but meh. Thanks for teh reply

Most of the changes have been good, the only actual bad things I can think of at the moment are the extent of the rng nerf(not the fact that they were nerfed, but how much they were nerfed) and their inability to make gear superior to the zilart stuff(cursed/god/relic is still the best of the best). They keep trying small fixes to problems, but are mainly stopped with implementation problems or the playerbase. Generally the people who think SE can do nothing right are idiots, they ignore all of the good things and focus on the few bad choices made, or skew normal decisions into catastrophes.

Good: Assaults

Bad: Lack of any useful items from the IS Ranks.

Good: Sidegrades for the folks who can't do xxx fight.

Bad: No upgrades for the folks who did xxx fight 3 years ago. Best weapon in the game is on a relatively easy to kill mob, yet the best ring is on a mob that was nearly impossible to kill until very recently.

Good: Ability to play multiple jobs from the same character & have subjobs, creating a variety of combinations.

Bad: We still seem to find the same jobs with the same subs... think PLD/WAR for a severe example.

Good: Making a game once you start can never quit

Bad: you can never quit

Bad: The Auction House
It eats up more space on our server than anything else.
You don't know who the item comes from till you win the bid. This allows gilsellers to sell their wares.

Good: The rest of the game.

Conclusion: Great game, but the economy is fucked. People that complain about the level grind either have shitty equipment, buy gil, or have gotten an extremly lucky drop on a big money item. This game is money grind for me. All I do anymore is mine.

Good: Good storylines etc.

Bad: Too addicting to quit.

Good: Being forced to socially interact with others to get things accomplished helps you make friends you probably wouldn't have, had the game been solo-friendly. I can safely say that had FFXI been solo oriented, I wouldn't have made many, if any friends, and I wouldn't be playing now. I'm only playing still, because of my friends.

Bad: Being forced to socially interact with others to get things accomplished makes getting anything accomplished much more frustrating than it could've been, especially when alliances or multiple alliances are involved. When I think about how far I could've been, had I not needed to rely on others, it saddens me.

Good: The CoP c/s's as you near the end of CoP.
Bad: Lack of areas with solo play...

Personaly I think this game is best storyline, endgame content, and general game play at times. Although it lacks customabilty, and the economy will alwys alot gill sellers to manipulate the game and ruin it for alot of ppl. Over all I think the challenges that this game offers id say its one of the top 2 games if not number one.

You're missing the whole point of what I said, it's that after two years the best gear is still mainly the same; despite a complete expansion and a partial one, along with a ton of updates. Make the new fights progressively more difficult, in that you need to have some people with at least some sky gear to be able to kill newer monsters for the better gear; so there is some kind of gear progression. Another option would be to make gear that is equivalent to zilart gear, so that you don't have to spend years in sky to get everyone Byakko Haidate; but you can focus on other things if you want.

Barbarossa's Zerehs are a step in the right direction, adding an alternative to a highly sought after piece of gear, which is in a very limited supply. It's a sidegrade, not an upgrade like there needs to be in the game, but at least it's something.

I agree there should be better gear then the stuff they have been giving us, Evey gear they have release has been horrible and not worth the time to camp. On the other hand they have been adding good items here and there. Like fire bomblet and some the assault gear. Also have to look at they have not release all the areas yet. When they release the "underworld" Lets hope they will add similar nms to that found in sky.

also to add there still the coliseum, the arena, the chocobo races maybe there saving there best gear for prizes there?

I agree with Bajaratt. There's a constant progression of equipment in this game, from level 1 RSE to AF, to Relic/Sky. Why stop there? For 75 levels we've been accustomed to always seeking out the next challenge to get our next gear, and getting that gear always requires that you have competent gear for your level. I think they're holding off on higher equipment till they increase the level cap, even though they said they have no plans to.
