The virtue of Absolute Virtue

I didnt say i considered it abuse, i said SE did. Even though we see it as a fair kill doesn't mean SE saw it that way. I understand zergs happen alot on other different NMs but SE doesn't want certain ones zerged. They have they're methods and ways to prevent it and they just did that to AV. We should just be happy that AV wasn't put back to an 18 hour kill, lol.

Wrong. Because SE thinks its perfectly fine to kill Baha2, Vrtra, Kirin, everything else this way.

AV is SE's little pet that they love because its unbeatable. They're dumb and they'll continue to nerf any way found to kill it other then their "secret method" which as far as I'm concerned may not exist at all.

It is a multi-hit nerf on AV >_>

Its not the multi hit that got nerfed. Its Souleater.

Souleater goes through everything. Now we have one random mob in the game that breaks that rule. Awesome

But it's not a multi hit nerf.

Nope you're right, it fell to 87% in seconds and suddenly stopped while the same DRKs were using the same method to hit him. the weapons and the jobs aren't nerfed. His defense corrisponds directly to what he's been hit with repeatedly. Its just like Steam Jacket on the Automaton.

To Tyrath, whether you feel SE is right or wrong with the nerf, it doesn't stop that they did it and probably won't go back until AV has been killed the way they want it. To me it just means to players, figure out another way and i'm sure we can do that.

I'd say more tests need to be done before we determine whether or not it's permanent. But if it is, it'd actually be pretty simple. Space out your kclubDRKs for until his melee resistance falls to acceptable levels.
At least it wouldn't be like that asshole HURT ME MORE Blue Mage in ToAU44.

Its still a nerf to souleater on AV because souleater is not affected by anything.

I don't understand souleater, or atleast the effects of it... i typically just heal a person who uses it when they don't use BW, I assume you consume hp to unleash stronger attacks?

It takes your hp and adds it directly to your damage. No questions asked. Its just added on.

Im trying to understand it and reading wiki as well... I saw this

Souleater is subject to physical damage modifiers, examples being open-mouthed Hpemde(+100% damage), and Slimes(-50% damage); additionally the modifiers for damage type (slashing, blunt, or piercing) based on the weapon used will affect the damage dealt by the ability--e.g., Skeletons take extra damage from Souleater when used with a Club.

this true?

Souleater is actually affected by natural physical damage reduction. Take Slimes/Jellies for example, I mentioned it earlier...

I think that the fact that the playing population has come up with five separate ways to kill AV, none of which SE anticipated, indicates that a lot of thought has been put into how to kill it.

The fact that those same players have gone over the SE video with a fine tooth comb, and to date, not a single tactic seen in the SE video has had any effect on AV whatsoever, says something as well...

Its not about what you can see in the video, its about what you can't see in the video... I've made this hint before and as I stated earlier, I want to prove it when I can and show it to public no matter how the outcome is.

Tonights AV: Inconclusive

I sat outside of the Main Alliance while with 4 others while the kill team for JoL got destroyed by AV rather fast. The battle seemed semi planned but not put together well. As for my theory, it remains untested and can not be determined, AV used no 2hrs while killing my small team.

Dear AV haters:

Don't see anyone hatin on AV, although kudos for using the same image that you put in a flame @ the same time lol.

In a majority of the cases where DRK zergs are used, they either have been defeated using an alternative method and easily accessible by the average player or can be done without having DRK or /DRK as a mandatory job. Had players killed AV using the "legitimate" method that only SE knows and then tried zerging after it was common knowledge, I think they wouldn't have nerfed it.

I have to agree. It's the reason why, "Hey, but we can zerg Bahamut/KV/Kirin/DL/insert NM here," is a moot point. There's no possible way for a top notch melee to imitate 6~12k damage in 30 seconds. I also have to agree about allowing us to zerg it after "legitimately" killing it. They're just assholes like that.

I'm really disappointed by this "fix". I sincerely doubt ANYONE will figure out how to defeat AV unless they tone down it's ridiculous offense. Seriously, one small mistake and it begins to spam Aeroga IV or Comet/Meteor? Give me a fucking break, how do they expect people to recover from that kind of damage, especially when it's very difficult to resist it.

Options SE should consider:

1. Tell us how to fucking kill it.
or
2. Tone down it's offensive capabilities. (TP and WS, Magic, and rate of 2 hour use.)
or
3. Reverse the Souleater patch and allow contemporary melee and magic to deal 100% damage. (Speculation says AV has a natural physical and magical damage reduction of 50%)

It was a futile hope of mine that AV would become fully susceptible to melee and magic damage. This would give non-Souleater linkshells a chance at dealing 65k (75k?) in 30 seconds or less.

All in all, here ya go SE, this big one's for you. :this is4u:

However, it by no means compares to the Medusa Javelin AV's been fucking us in the ass with for the past three years.

You have too much faith in SE.
