hehe, ya the only story where the love was very indepth to the story was FFVIII (that's not what made it meh, imo :P) but all FF DO have love in the story in one way or another (late response to the whole FFX thing earlier)

All FF's have the same basic story, and almost all FF's have a love story involved. This is the same with nearly every other RPG.

Popular objective in nearly every RPG: Save the world, or country before its destroyed/corrupted.

Popular side story in nearly every RPG: Main character is in love with someone he cant have, either ever, or until the end of the game because he is either struggling to save said damsel, shes playing hard to get, or there are mixed signals from both parties. (or shes dead)

Theres not much else you can give an RPG.
 
You're all fucking stupid. No one on the planet Earth thinks VII has any sort of in-depth love story to it except the handful of retards I'm arguing with in this thread. I've asked idk how many people, almost all my gamer friends irl and some people online even, and I can't find a single person who remembers VII as a lovey-dovey game. They also all agree that X was a major chick-flick. So you dumbfucks can go on thinking that VII was super-sappy but you'll be the only people that think so. That's ok, I hear there's this group of people that all think Digimon are real, maybe you can go join them in the "oblivious" section of the internet.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Tidus and Yuna's love for each other changed how the entire end of the game played out. I wanted to see a fucking Final Aeon damnit, and I never did. I was so looking forward to watching Yuna die at the end of the game and it never came, all because Tidus wanted her for a dick-sleeve so bad that he just couldn't let her do her damn job. Any of the other guardians would have waved her on, but because of the Tidus <3's Yuna story, it all went to hell.

Is anyone actually arguing that FF7 is a "lovey-dovey" game? There are some central themes on love and friendship but there are no outright love sequences (barring the Gold Saucer date sequence in which you can even get the amusing result of Barret/Cloud)... and it isn't really important for understanding the main plot, but it's there.

Also uh, FFX's ending would've been kinda depressing if they'd gone with the Final Aeon route. Yeah that's what the plan was but I'm going to go with Tyrath's sentiment that you probably weren't paying much attention to the game because the whole Final Aeon thing was a scam. But you knew that right?
