now i have highlighted the things that also affect the servers. so maybe you should take a reading comprehesion course at the local elementary school considering you have just made me repeat myself. :p

Problem with that model, is that there was a problem with the economy before the 300bil got taken out. I thought you realized what was wrong with economy before you read everyones posts about the effect of 300bil taken out of all servers economies.

ok the large stockpile of items that so-called non-gilsellers was not deleted and they took full advantage of the fact that ppl will pay the insane prices to own them. so instead of flooding the market and lowering the price which some of the normal pc could have done they slowly released them into the market and help to jack the price. they took advantage of the supply and demand concept.
but you know this game is not able to run on a supply and demand basis considering that there is not another locality to go and buy the items at a lower price. that is why this game has a fucked up economy. and if you have ever played EVE_online you would know that for an econopmy to work you have to have checks and balances and more than one market for everyone to go to, to get all the items that you need. with the way the game is set up now there is only one place you can go to get almost any item in the game that is AHable. That is what screws the economy in this game. if windy sandy and bastok were competable markets to jeuno then it might be different but as it stands with or wothout gilsellers and gilbuyers the economy would still be in the situation it is in.

First of all, there isn't a big conspiracy between everyone with an SH (using it as an example, but you can put any high end item here if you'd like) to sell them slowly and jack up the price. If this was the case why would everyone dump them right after the 300bil got taken out?

Fact is more people with gil were able to buy SHs before and that drove the price up. That is were gil sellers/buyers come in. SH used to be a novelty item for people. Nowadays they are standard issue items that every NIN and THF has. People who RMT have access to higher end gear than they would if they didn't RMT.

There are tons of people with SHs and other high end gear who can't figure out how to make 1 mil to uncurse N. Body so they take out a loan. Now they RMT a bunch of gil and pay 170 mil for a Kraken. People think they are big ballers, but people that associated with them know they were always walking around broke as fuck.

Some of these people shouldn't even have ever bought an SH. Imagine if all those people hadn't RMT'd? The supply would be similar driving the price down cause there are less people with the gil to buy it.

Add RMT back in, more people with gil, to buy the same supply, prices go back up.

BTW I can't take your bro serious when he says he has 20mil in gear, but won't buy snipers cause he doesn't need the acc. But he will wait till bastok is in control to xp so he can use the acc on his gear.

good points, but the whole novelty of items after, what is it now 3-5 years, has kinda worn off. when that info was let out that they deleted characters form the servers and the 300 bil ppl started to dump their stockpiles to try and get the max amount before the price drop. that is why the sudden drop but now after this whole thing it is now starting to go back up as you said. but more so on items that are crafted instead on items that depend on NMs. take the hauby, that is a crafted item and at its low was 5 mil on hades, it is now back to 10 mil. and ppl can do this cause the jeuno AH has no copmpetition form another AH to drop the price that is what ultimately screws all the servers economies. until this is changed it will always be fucked.
But i have to go drink now.

AH doesn't sell items, players do. That is one area you are flawed. The fact that players determine prices, not an outside source. People dumped in hopes of buying cheaper. They flooded the market and saturated the market. When it bottomed out they started to buy again with less supply driving prices back up.

I think you're missing the point of having an opposing area to sell stuff in. In this game there are 4 nations. 3 of them are player nations and one an npc nation. Yet if you want any gear where do you go to get it? Jeuno. You don't travel to Bastok to get a price on a hauby, or to Sandy to price a pair of leaping boots. You go to Jeuno and what ever it is selling there for that is the price. That is one of the biggest reasons that this economy is fucked up. And why do you assume that you have to real money trade to get a SH or other high end gear? Also how do you know that people are buying the gil to be able to afford these items? Maybe they were saving to get them and then the flux in the market came through and they could get one. If you have a level 50 or higher job it's not that hard to make money. Technically in this game I'm always broke. Because I know that if I want or need something I can always go get the gil for it. And that is with a level 57 WHM only. SE just designed a shitty economy and we are seeing the affects of it now. That is the simple truth of it, and no amounts of RMTs are going to change that fact. Technically if you want to get right down into it SE is the reason that the economy is flooded with so much gil and not RMT. You want to talk about making money, go out and just kill everything you see. Then hit up the first NPC you see and sell it all to them. Then go out and do it again. If you have a high enough job level it doesn't take too long to kill things and NPC it. That is instant gil from out of nowhere. Now get 10 people doing this, 100 people doing this. Whoa wait a second now the economy is getting flooded with gil. Did you play when Rusty caps were big? You would go into Rabao and if you saw an open spot around the pool there it was a slow day. That was an instant 2.9k I think just for one cap. And there were hundreds of people fishing them. And I'll say that maybe less than 1% of them were GS. For the most part it was regular people just using what SE gave them. Now why was that patched? Oh I know.. it was the damn RMTs. Sorry but you can't blame a shitty economy, player greed, and instant gil mints all on RMTs.

Consumer sovereignty? The laws of supply and demand? Government regulations and deregulations? Rogue traders? Monopolies?

Game economics are a reflection of real life economics.

If a consumer, or in our case, a group of cute looking pixels, is prepared to pay an exhorbitant amount to purchase an item, then thats what the market price will regulate at.
If a crafter doesnt farm their supplies and buys at an inflated price they are going to, in turn, inflate their price to cover costs and make profit.

The supplier-farmer is also going to attempt to get the best price they can for their product, so they, in turn, may be a consumer.

RMT, which you could define as rogue trading, may have been responsible for pushing the prices up, because it gave some players access to funds faster than they might normally have obtained it, along with the ability to pay more for their purchases.

Ultimately though the AH is a deregulated market, which operates on the laws of Supply and Demand. That responsibilty lays with the players...your either going to pay X amount of gil for something or your aren't.

Real world economies have been stuffing each other for years..so why would it be any different here?

So.... who wants to sell me a Nobles Tunic for 3mill ?

Look at low lvl gear and normal items, there isn't a variance in price from nation to nation to jeuno.

I'm not assuming people use RMT, the fact there are tons of RMT on our server. Please believe at 75, people are too stupid to make gil. They depend on god/hnm drops for gil, just sit in an LS and hear people bitch about when they are getting paid.

You got a lot of how the gil comes in, stuff I've already gone over. But you aren't remembering who was running the bots, and you don't seem to get who was in davoi, beadeaux, and Castle O so long. Do you know? Killing beastmen over and over again, getting drops, some that are worthless and npc'd, some they could sell and get nice chunks of old gil for. Regular players don't do this. I've shown up to camp an NM every once and a while, never a legit player, always an RMT.

Rusty caps were a big exploit, and there were some legit players there. But you can ask the legit players who were NPCn stuff, and one has posted here before there weren't as many legit players there as you think. I remember a couple years MPKn new gil seller fish bots in Buburimbu. They were getting them through their levels to become efficient bots. They would have 5-6 new bots every week out there leveling up. The patch was put in place for fish bots in general, majority of them unseen to you.

No matter how greedy a player is, if there isn't enough people with gil to buy it at the price you want, you aren't going to sell it.

This thread has actually become quite good since Meeze and I derailed it a bit. I think we need to close this topic and post a new thread though... not really a flameboards thing anymore

If people associate with known RMTs that I believe help fuck up the economy of a game I play, I will consider them pieces of shits in my eyes.

Fuck Breezer and voodoolounge.

Fuck Xadoc and OH

Fuck Grease and his salad tosser Deuce.

Fuck Gaebo and whatever the new name of GBY is.

Fuck everyone in all of those LSs and fuck whoever else associates with RMT. If you have RMT friends and found this offensive, Blist me and never party or do missions with me.

I never had a problem leaving alliances no matter how much I had going for me when there are people I don't like, I don't get why others don't do the same.

If you read this and hate me, be a man and tell me here, don't post in a thread 6 months later like some of you pussies have.

As far as the "get a life" thing...you're following ME around scrub. BTW you vanished from the snowboarding thread, figured out I was right?
Lol I agrree with u on everything except on the Deuce thing, he a friend of mine i dont know anything he had done to get here lol.

Well geeez Meeze....I can talk to my friends in TheVoodooLounge but I'm sure the majority of them don't want to fuck you...except maybe Westyle and I worry about him >.>

I assumed that VoodooLounge was the sellers LS they made, more than just Breezer are in it. That being said, everyone i see with that pearl is either a high lvl seller or a struggling noob. Bloodpool is a blm thats in it who's cool, i just assumed the sellers picked him up since it can be hard for noobs to get into decent LSs, esp the ones that help them. And, uh, never party with Texstaz unless you want him going afk and curing less than a blm/smn, he sucks and ditches pts when he's rdy to go.

meeze and deuce are having a big fight cause meeze thinks Deuce's good fried Grease buys gil. Thus the inclusion.

More to the point, want a big gilbuyer? Aldiel. think what you want, i know the truth, I PL'd him on Ps2 release day in ronfaure and a 2 weeks later he had a mule in pimped gear higher than i was, i asked him how, he told me he bought gil. he reasoned and explained it out to me.

Not my fault puller grabed shit when i said i was afk maybe he should have noticed the AFK and as for anything else that entire party sucked ass anyways why to much down time people leaving left and right dam man it happens that was just a bad party get the fuck over it

Your assumption is wrong..... ForgottenShadows = RedSky = evil RMT types. WHeter or not Breezer or the flys sell any gil, they do not opperate like the Redsky (bettylilly, Cows, large, etc)

The site was started and is owned by Longdukdong, last time i checked my wife doesn't have an RMT job.

You see Jussy.... rumors and assumptions are just that.
