Thf/RNG merits

I was looking for opinions on what I should use for combat merits for my thf and ranger. I currently have 5 dagger, and nothing else. I would like to merit Archery and Marksmanship, but not sure which is the better one to raise. Granted Marksmanship would benefit my thf also, but I don't have much of a problem landing bolts with thf.

Any ideas would be great

That would answer the question for me if I was planning to split combat skills between jobs.

Personally, I wouldn't though. Make a choice and decide one path. You can still play any job well if it it's A rated weapon isn't merited. Putting it all into one of the jobs makes more sense to me, and will allow you to use attack food more often. A few merits here, and a few merits there, spread out doesn't appeal. Just my angle on it. Like a R.K. Belt. ;;

merit what your job is best at. with 230 markmanship its decent when farming or killing DC stuffs, but a waste of ammo on exp mobs. so a thf would fully merit dagger, a ranger would fully merit bow (i think) . Yes choose one fo the two.

the damage bump on rng will be more noticeable (than thief) either way. however unless you use ebow as rng marks is probably more useful/pratical between the two.
if you do use ebow over obow/hellfire, the damage/accy gain from meriting bow skill would be better.

Exactly. because in all honesty, if you're going to merit, RNG is probably the better choice to do it on.

Besides, you can always do 8 archery and 4 dagger.

Sell your RNG gear, invest it in THF, and do the merits I did.

Thanks for the help everyone. Thf is #1, so I'll probably just do strictly thief.

Thanks again. Good to hear from you Necro!

hello Mister drk and war. thf doesnt work like war and drk you know. Their ws are DEX based who cares about lolSTR. Seriously 62 base STR 80 base DEX.... and in WS 77 STR and 120 DEX.. you really think 5 more STR will make you a lot better as thf? 82 STR if you merit.. any job will call that shite if you ask me.

It's called Dot mdk. Also during a solo ws without sneak attack or trick attached str is a bigger factor than dex on dancing edge ect.

Because Strength is a factor in every kind of physical attack. Why merit Dex for just WS when you can merit Str for WS and melee attacks?

This topic is full of funny. And no, don't merit DEX. Ever. For cereal.
