My brother, Twinblake, and I have decided to take an extended break from FFXI. While not sure if its permanent or not, we feel it is for the best.
FFXI has always been fun to me. I've made many good friends in the linkshell and I like to think made a positive impact on the community. I've have many great times in game, and really enjoyed my stay on Quetz. Both my brother and I strived to make the best of our jobs, and I had a lot of fun getting my character to the point it is now. However... the time comes when the game is no longer fun to me. Everything about FFXI seems like "work." A game shouldn't feel this way, and it has now seized to be fun.
I might come back, but at this point, I really don't know. FFXIV draws near and there are plenty of things happening in the near future for me (moving away to a college, away from my family, etc) that I need to focus more on.
It'll be a new experience for me, and I can't allow anything, especially a game, to hold me back. I hope to be a part of FFXIV, and I really hope SE allows you to pick servers. Quetz has always been a great environment!
While I do not want to name everyone that is special to me, I would like to thank a couple individuals and linkshells were really special to me:
KnightsOfAsgard - The Einherjar linkshell I made back in 2008. We started of strong and have been a solid linkshell since the beginning. This linkshell, and everyone in it, is the reason that kept me going in FFXI. Unfortunately, it is going to disband due to me leaving, but I wish the best to everyone in the linkshell. I met so many great people in the shell, and I'm quite proud of all it accomplished! The person I'd like to thank the most with KoA was in the beginnings, with Moriarti. Although we didn't end in the best of terms, Moriarti greatly helped in the early recruitment phase of the linkshell and jump started the linkshell into the great shell that it was. I would basically have to list my whole entire roster to include how awesome everyone is in the linkshell.
**Got to thank all of my dedicated members who brought mules for the shell. Namely, Alfinia (sorry you never got vfork ;
and Keeblerx. As well as Bruhaha and Kleio!
ShakenBake- A linkshell I joined with Jamal. This linkshell really improved my skillset and gear as a player, and provided a great environment and many good people to share it with. The shell eventually met its decline in late 2009. With Shakenbake, I would have to think Jamal for creating such an awesome linkshell!
WeHeartCaulk/Lamebus - Originally started out as Lamebus lead by Rappa, the shell was a solid limbus linkshell that really did a great job. We low-manned zones, both Omega and Ultima, and a had a fun time doing it. The shell then dissolved and reformed as WeHeartCaulk (interesting name, I know
) which was ran by Bootz, Carste, and Nerevarine. I would have to thank Rappa and Orinna for starting the linkshell, and I really want to thank Carste for keeping it going. Carste has been a great friend to me in FFXI, and I am lucky to have met him. Not only was he one of the best players I've met, he also, along with good friend Serigala, helped my obtain my X's Knife. Carste was also the reason I had a Love Torque. <3 ya, Carste!
DynamisHeretics/United - DynamisHeretics was the my second and last Dynamis linkshell. I met so many talented players and it actually made Dynamis bearable! My first dynamis linkshell bored me very much, but DH really showed me how awesome Dyamis could be. I relic quite quickly, as well as some nice 100cc on the side! Really couldn't beat the shell in terms of efficiency, and there were many great people I met too! I then joined United later after Shakenbake dissolved, but that shell soon fell short of activity due to other reasons. I meet so many amazing people in DH. Foosk, Morwen, Ashkill, Darkbass, Nolofinwe, Kairiboo, and many more. Thank you DH!
SpiritOfTheWolf - A great social I joined in the last part of the game. I never got the pleasure of doing much with the linkshell, however, and I regret that. But I do know the shell is filled with amazing players and I hate that I joined so late into my playing career. I wish the best to this linkshell! Zeralya, you are doing a great job with the shell, as well as Onedarkflame! Best of luck!

Though I'm sure I can speak for anyone when I say without you guys in the game, the game will get a lot more dull. Ya'll were always shining brightly.
