Amemet Mantle 1.5million
Forager's Mantle 2.6million
Peregrine getting owned for 10 pages priceless.

On a side note how is a list of people buying the best possible equipment they can get lazy? You are truly a fucking moron and I think you are putting yourself into Colbwa and Vang territory with this thread.

lol@ all the forager whores in this thread. Daggum didn't think there were that many idiots.

I'm still waiting on an explaination on why I(or anyone else) is an idiot for wanting the best gear they can get.

Because by dropping so much gil on such a pathetic boost, you're not being the best you can be. Like I said, at 71 if the best you can be is 1 more strength, you're either not thinking, only thinking of your worth in terms of some lame endgame Jeuno-stroll equipment set...or worse, that you're just too dumb, lazy, or unoriginal to think of something better to spend 1.3 million gil on. So you scavenge the AH, because it's all written there for you.

My guess is just too dumb, lazy, or unoriginal to think of something better to spend 1.3 million gil on. Should call you all AH gimps...you use the AH list as a crutch for thought. I'm sure if the AH told you to do some BC's and ENMs you'd probably run out and do it. AH gimps define themselves as the best by what's on the AH when most things that count aren't even on it.

What if you were getting as much +Str as you could find to boost your WS's and had everything else save for the +1 the foragers mantle gives and you had a few million sitting around doing nothing. Let's also say that they had all the other gear they ever needed, but that one item eluded them?

Yeah I think it's safe to say it's an all right purchase.
Pwned.

Indeed. Like I said: Drop 2 mil on a cape(this was back when I got it) and sell Amemet +1 to regain 3/4 of what I spent, vs. Drop 4 mil on a ring, and sell the NQ back for a whopping <100K.

Yeah.. thats definantly smarter.

Until you provide a reason for not settling for mediocrity Peregrine, I label this a jealousy thread. We can justify/have the gil to buy the mantle, where as you don't. We're better than you, neener.

That's not an answer. You're assuming that I'm obviously gimping on some other equipment, with nothing to back it up. You're also assuming that I have enough money to afford any improvement in my gear, which is most likely to be a +1 purchase. You're also assuming that I actually care about some craft, or that I don't have enough money to level that craft should I care. So basically you're calling everyone idiots based on a bunch of assumptions that you have no way of proving.

My Question was about why are people idiots for wanting to have the best stuff? Let's just forget about your assumptions, assume that I have +1/+2 of everything, full god gear, level 100 goldsmithing(for sake of argument) and max subs. How would I be an idiot for wanting to upgrade my back piece to the best one in the game from my amemet +1?

You also never answered the question about would I still be an idiot if I just did the ENM and got the mantle for free?

Why buy a Lexus when a Neon drives you from point A to point B? Why buy a house when a condo fits all your stuff just fine? Why buy tenderloin at the butcher when ground beef tastes almost as good for 1/3rd the price? Why wear Levi's when you can just get Sears Toughskins?

Personally, the only melee jobs I don't see that'd benefit from using this over Amemet +1 is RNG, and maybe THF. (depends if they spam enfeeb bolts or stuff like that)..and to a lesser extent, any job that uses bloody bolts solo...

Everyone...you've made your point to Pere, several times. Don't think trying to get it across another half dozen times will effect anything.

Pere, it's their gil. If you're not ever gonna bother with the mantle, why do you care? Everyone more or less has the right to do what they want with their stuff, wether you see it as a waste or not.

Also...cause it was said a shameful amount of times...not having the extra STR from Forager won't make you gimp, nor will having that extra STR from it make you l33t or whatthehell ever. If you think it will, your standards are really, really narrow (not to mention flat-out too high). If that kindof crap sets your lines between gimp and not-gimp, I don't even wanna imagine what you think of a WAR without some combo of Maneater/Juggernaut/Woodville's..

...That's all I got.

People aren't idiots for wanting to have the best. They're idiots when they think they're so "best" that they drop 1.3 million gil on 1 str at level 71 when they probably wear leather pants to a mammet fight they tag along to...if they even do more than make purchases on mommy's debit card, or mindlessly farm Passhow for months.

So let's assume this is all made up and you miraculously have all these things? 100 goldsmither? All craft subs? Nice relic weapon start? Equipment macros so complex they'd make your head spin? And then you want a forager's mantle? Numbnuts, you could buy a commander's cape and probably hit more criticals with more weaponskills than 1 strength would ever do for you. Strength affects weaponskills? How about criticals double weaponskills.

I don't live in a fantasy world where you all are soooo well off that you have nothing better to spend 1.3 million gil on than one strength that will not amount to ANYTHING. I live in the real world where you all are just too lazy to think of something better to spend the money on.

You're right Pere, you don't live in a fantasy world. But you do play in one.

So maybe someone spends all their gil on a Foragers for the extra +1 STR. How does this affect you, may I ask? And why should you even care? Personally, I don't see why someone's financial decisions using fake money in a fake economy should be anyone's concern. It's not like we have fake welfare that my fake Jeuno taxes are paying for because people can't handle their gil in what you deem to be the "proper" way.

It doesn't concern me. Forager's mantle has as much to do with me as astral rings do now. I just think it's funny that so many people think they're rich enough to be blowing so much gil on...basically nothing. Maybe if you parsed it out over your career you'd do 2k more damage. I won't. I'll do more because I land acid bolts. I'll pick up a corse cape for my soloing set or something. I have better things to spend my money on.

Ok, so your whole position, and I'm being generous there, is continued to be based on assumptions. You're saying if someone buys this thing, which amounts to a very small benefit(which was never debated), that they obviously gimp on gear when they have to buy new gear for lower levels. I'd rather get a Forager's mantle than a commander's cape, because the +attack would help more overall than the +3 dex. Also, given that I usually use multi-hit weaponskills, I'd likely never notice a critical on a single hit.

You also say that people suck at the economy because they obviously have better stuff to spend their money on, another assumption. Since you obviously know all about my financial status, what do you think I should spend that 1.3 million on?

I asked simple questions and I get direct insults, but that's your MO for posting on the boards. And can someone answer my question posted pages about about doing the ENM? This seems to have continued to escape notice, despite my repeating it.

You think it's funny, fine. Why not just laugh about it and keep this crap to yourself, instead of calling everyone idiots.?
