This is why teenagers don't run economies

Because that's not nearly as entertaining or enlightening. I want to see who actually thinks they're "best" enough to drop 1.3 million on 1 endgame strength. About the only person in this thread even close is odon, and even odon could improve his character in better ways. When they nerf blm, he can kiss those free bc-cuts he takes goodbye. He needs to level his cloth.

lol, like he really needs those to level his craft any further.

Oh right, the enm. Sure do it. Then sell the mantle to the kiddos for a quick and huge overinflated profit.

PS: you're not odon. Don't deflect onto the excempt. You're not.

And when you have nothing better to get, for your 71+ job, or your bc/event levels, should you just sit and not obtain it? That was my situation, so kindly shut up. :?

Really, assuming that no one who buys this stuff is prepared for the rest of the game is being the idiot.

Lol talk about over nuking something.
It's simple, forager's mantle and amemet mantles are obtained in two totally different ways, from two totally different sides of controlled economy.
One side controlled by mainly gilsellers / crafters
the other side controlled by those that do what is required to obtain foragers.

You buy what you buy here people.
Personally Amemet Mantle +1 seems more useful to me, but that is mainly because I am a ballista junkey and am also leveling up another job to 75.
I can see the benefit of having both, but the reason foragers is more expensive is, the availability of it is much lower, and so many more people compete for the cost of Amemet mantle +1 than they do for the cost of Forager's.

Ka easy ^_~

How is Amemet +1 more useful in Ballista? Neither one can be used outside of uncapped games.

pergrine, what the fuck do you even craft for? to have normal gear? you aren't planning on going to 100 are you? if you do you are a moron wasting all that gil to hit 100 when you can just stay at 80 and make gil on silk cloths so you can sport NQ gear all around.

what the fuck else are going to do with your gil at lvl 75. the only thing left to do is to round out your gear. pick up the luxuries (or basics like SH in your case) for your job.

once you hit 75 with a job, there isn't much to do but aquire gear, whether it be from sky, dynamis or purchased.

i only read like the first 3 pages, but i wanted to clarify a few things

first of all, i'm not going to delve into the arguement whether Forager's Mantle is worth 2.6m, that's all in the eye of the person who buys it. 2.6m to a WHOLE hell of a lot of people who play this game is pocket change

now, whether forager's is better than amemit+1, this is debatable

it's only 1 STR advantage over Amemit+1, and has a higher level restriction. the thing is, 1 STR in itself won't show up on a parser as being better than an amemit+1, however when you constantly focus on HQ STR gear, those "1" STR units start to add up

for example, a WAR using Amemit+1, 2x Ruby Rings, coral leggings and Minuet Earring has a total of: 13 STR

but if he decides to upgrade to Foragers, 2x Flame, Merman Leggings & Triumph Earring, he's boosted his 13 STR to: 18 STR

that's FIVE STR increase over his previous gear, and i'd wager that a 5 STR increase will definitely show up on a parser

now, about the ranged attack, this is not even debatable for non-ranged attack jobs who can equip a BOMB CORE (WAR, DRK, THF, NIN). other than THF, who normally has a ranged weapon equipped, these other 3 jobs are choosing +12 attack of a pulling weapon, so the ranged attack from Amemit+1 is null and void, and besides

+15 ranged attack for a job that has C- and below rating in ranged, will not show up on a parser (keep in mind, this is ranged ATTACK, not ranged ACCURACY)

me 4tw

typo in my post

these other 3 jobs are choosing +12 attack of a pulling weapon
should be
these other 3 jobs are choosing +12 attack over a pulling weapon

D:

Actually I am leveling my cloth.

I've got all the dance shoe synths for 94-98;

Get me some motherfucking plumes and I'll be 98.

And I've got plenty of gil saved up, I'm not worried about them nerfing blm.

Because once they do, everything is going to be impossible to kill.

Which means no equip for idiots who cryed because my job did more damage.

With other stuff, yes the STR already adds up...but someone could also just use all of the said +1 stuffs and stick with Amemet +1.. :?

I really don't see why this arguement is still going on. It's the egeneral whining of someone else's gear, not even gimped gear, which really warrants no complaining at all....if anything you should be happy that they're taking it over Amemet +1, because that'll make them
a. Not buy an Amemet +1, or
b. Sell their old Amemet +1
Which would actually support the decline in AH cost of it, which, since you think it's so much better, would this all not be a good thing? ><

Not sure if this has been mentioned as I don't have time to read through 10+ pages. Samurai's last 3 weapon skills, Tachi: Yukikaze, Tachi: Gekko, Tachi: Kasha have at 75% STR modifier for the damage. This Forager's mantle is the end game piece for me. I wouldn't rush out and sell an amemit +1 for it but after I get all the god gear, sky stuff, etc I would be looking to upgrade other pieces to have the best gear.

One thing about the back equip slot that no one's really touched on is that it is something you will ALWAYS have equipped. It isn't something you macro in for your weapon skills. It isn't something you use in specific situations. It is something that will be a factor on every single attack you do from the moment you put it on. Once you reach the level for Forager's Mantle, I can't think of any compelling reason not to get it. There is no other mantle that you will put on for any specific reason other than this one. There's no situation where you could use the AM+1 and not use this one. This is it, just suck it up and buy it.

Hay it higher teh level i pay mor3!

not really the frist item come from a 2 75enm which mean person camping would need get people, and luck because you cant repeat enm withen a certain amount of time, if i rember correctly.
on a side not, ive seen a vid of a blm/rdm soloing "brothers".

the other is a crafted item where the only big item need in syth is off a mob in Kuftal Tunnel with same name of item. which is currently heavyly camped by a group of gilsellers. (which are pretty nice people btw raise me a couple times when I was lvling in there and when got killed by guivene once.) The other big item is the mold which is dug up ive never tryed the digging game so.. not sure how hard it is to get that item.

if you really want to flame something how is it that a reg item for like 10k while the +1 sell for a mil.

the NQ used to be like 200-400k anf the HQ was 700-800k

But due to more and more people levelling crafts the supply of NQ's got way higher then the demand and the price has been driven down. It happens with all crafts.

This is why current high level crafters refer to the crafting ship as sailed because there is already so much competition at high levels that making money is becomming really difficult.. and anyone thats not already high level will find they have wasted all their money by the time they get there.

Also its because of the flood of players flocking to certain crafts because they're low cost to level, and hold high yeild items(cloth, leather) where as other crafts are left very much untouched(goldsmithing) because it's not such an easy route, even though the returns end up being much higher in the long run.

I dunno about that... someone levelling Leather can get to 100 and start making a lot of money for a lot longer then someone that started levelling Goldsmithing at the same time.

Eventually the Goldsmither will catch up in Net profits but after how long? A year after hitting 100? Probably more...

Goldsmithing is more a status thing for a lot of people. Their profit items are the rare hardly sells HQ items just like other crafts... except Goldsmithing costs a shitload more to level.

Peregrine where ya hiding?

Peregrines list on reasons not to buy Foragers

1.
Dont buy a Foragers, because it somehow nerfs you,
so you are unable to buy any equip for capped events.
It also turns all your previously bought "capped-event"
gear to dust.

2.
You are an idiot for having other interests then me in this
game. You must want to lvl a craft or do capped events.

3.
+2 = +3
(Must have been the really advanced math class.)

4.
Things dont add up.
If you get the HQ str rings, the foragers and say a minuet earing,
you still have the same str as if you get NQ rings, the amemet+1
and coral earings. EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS SO ON THE GEAR YOU
DONT GET THE BONUS.

5.
It's stupid to see things in a long term perspective. I dont want you to
use "it all adds up" point, because i dont know how to counter it,
and i prefer to be shortsighted.

6.
I want one. But cant afford it, so its a stupid piece of equip.

You are a genious Peregrine.
Truly you are.
