"Those People"

How about... in a social Linkshell when you've got several players over level 70, but there is always that one player who is OMG75 and contantly has to remind people about how much thier toon kicks soo much ass.

"<RandomLSMate> WOW, I just got owned by <t>!"

"<StuckupLSMate> Yeah, I've kicked <t>'s ass soo many times, he's really a wimp to me. I never get owned like that, because I rule."

Nothing like making your "friends" feel like crap and inferior just to try and boost your own ego. I especially lol at these people when they always have an excuse to not help out in an event. "Nah, I think I'm gonna go merit some more instead." XD

You know, most people who leave a job say they did so on account of one person. I've heard of that happening in FFXI too. I've got to say, best thing to do is try to ignore the person or talk to the ls leadership about it.

And yeah, there's nothing worse than when you're excited about something and someone tells you how it's not that great. Especially when their reasons are that you've deviated from the "Normal" or "Best" way of doing things/gear setup/party config./etc.

We had something along these lines. It's funny because we aren't a big shell and at one time had maybe a total of just under 20 members.

We had one member who liked to belittle other members that couldn't defend themselves but got irritated if one of us who is used to smack talking came in to defend the others. Finally we kicked him because 99% of us just plain and simple didn't like the guy.

We asked him to remove the shell that we just didn't want him in it. He wouldn't, so at that time we just broke his pearl. The 1% single member that did like the guy gave him a pearl back because they wanted him in the shell. This of course irritated everyone else and we broke the pearl again.

Finally after she (yep, I agree with that previous post about it being certain females that pull this crap) threatened to keep giving that person a pearl everytime we broke it, we just took her sack away. She hasn't logged back since and probably has a new shell. I find that AWESOME.

Was this Westyle and mayble ?

as for the op only thing have disagree with is the part about the 29 rdm easy to solo. considering you said he not have advance job yet and dont have access to nin solo be somewhat hard unless they got the whole bind sleep nuke sleep thing down. Also considering agian that it his frist job mean his skills would not be caped and his gear would not be that great so chances are sleep would resist some.

I have to disagree with you there actually. Being a red mage myself, and actually seeing soloability (although slow, still possible) at that level, I feel that if he couldn't get 1000 exp on his own, he was just being lazy. Red Mage is my first job, no jobs above it, and no skills raised in other jobs to make it easier. I haven't done real major gil-making, especially since my equipment has barely been updated since about level 20, buying mostly just scrolls. I could understand needing a whole level from 29 to 30, but 1000 exp isn't very hard to get at that level soloing EP. The only reason I could see that he "couldn't" solo, is if he were 1) lazy, not wanting to slowly get exp on his own, compared to not getting any at all and wasting time. 2) a very bad red mage, whose main skills (like enfeebling magic) aren't being skilled up in parties (my enfeebling magic is always at or near the cap, it's not hard to cap in a party). or 3) just stupid and not knowing what he should solo or how to avoid links or aggro. I can take a few eps linking at level 30 rdm/whm, getting about 20-30 exp each, and survive. Of course, he may not know his skills too well, since he can't get through aggro areas on his own, so he doesn't know how to use Sneak/Invis too well I guess... so that's a good possibility.

I dunno, I just really have to disagree that rdm can't solo at 29 for something as small at 1000exp, unless they just aren't trying. A decent sword, decent armor, cheap +atk food, and juices are more than enough to solo then. Maybe not soloing Even Matches or Decent Challenges, but Easy Prey is very doable, a few of them at a time even.

Agreed, a RDM can solo their way from 1 to 75. Extremely, EXTREMELY slow, but also extremely doable.

Oh, and on-topic. Yes, I've met people like that. And stupid as I am, I actually helped them <.<; I regret it afterwards, but what can you do? I won't name any names, but there's WAY too many of them out there >.<
