I got some pics with Sphene :)
She was such a sweetie, I remember alot of stuff. She was such an awesome, kind, genuine person.
I didn't know that she got me a scorpion harness with my bf for my b-day. I had mentioned that I wanted one for soloing or just DDing around in it a loong time ago and I was trying to farm the gil for it.
Anywho, they took me to the Kokba Hostel and threw me a b-day party that I still remember.

I remember seeing that bigass Steelfleece Baldrich in Konschtat(?) Highlands and fearing for my life on the way back from the dunes.
Some guy was killing it and I cheered him on so many times, hoping he won't die.

Joking around how Bastok sucked so bad because it was always last in the conquest updates, Sandy was kind of a knocked off version of France, and my friends would tell me how Windy was one big litterbox for the mithra....not true!

The horrible parties in the dunes...oh yea. No one voking the mob off the whm and the party ending up wiping 10 times.
Getting slept on a chocobo when trying to get thru the jungles. Damn Dream Flower move lol.
Trying to farm gil for spells and failing horribly. A really nice pt leader gave me the dispel scroll I needed, I never felt so grateful nor ashamed in my life. After that, I tried to get the spells, gear that I needed beforehand of leveling.

I remember the MPK days. People trailing skellies, scorpions from the basement of the Shitadel, disrupting the exp parties by the zone.
Made my first GM call that day lol.

LMAO! I did exactly the same thing when I first started the game. I didn't have anyone else to really teach me or anything, so after I went outside to fight mobs, I attacked, and I thought you had to keep clicking attack, and I kept running side to side so that the mob wouldn't hit me.

Then I finally had some random bystander tell me that I don't need to run around, I can just stand still and fight. Those were the good old days.

Also, I can never forget the first time a Yagudo aggro'd me from behind while I was fighting a bee, and at this time I didn't know anything about agressive mobs, so I was really pissed off by this and wondering why I got attacked.
 
Also, I remember me and Lecreuset farming for my Warrior's test. We kept using reraise gorget over and over again until we got that fuckin' test, lol. Was quite funny tbh

It was 2 years ago or so,I was still partly-noob at BLM75,my 6th year in FFXI.

Windy born and rarely played around Bastok,one day,my disaster happened.
I was lvling my SCH with my(real)new friends in South Gusterberg,I found THF 75player is hunting Lizards.
I really didn't know the reason.So,I thought he was cook,gathering lizard's eggs.(This is just because I once couldn't get lizard's eggs,went to davoi and hunt every lizards I saw.)

/t tell THF If you need eggs,we got lots of it. THF(silence)

What? ToAU hasn't been out for 5 years now. :S Maybe 3, almost 4 years. I haven't even started FFXI a full 5 years yet, and ToAU hasn't come out until almost two years after I began playing. I believe it came out at the end of '06.

Dude hell yes, LoO and VoS were so fun haha. Another example of inexplicable fun times in ffxi...valley of sorrows was so bland and repetitive but still holds good memories for me.

Hmm, I don't think it was at the end of 2006. I believe it was closer to the beginning, but I could be wrong. It was 2006 regardless.
 
My earliest memory in this game:
I had just wrapped up my senior year of college and picked up this game with a couple of buddies. I used to solo around the pond in east ron. I met this dude Cmdrfly and he put together a WAR WAR WAR WAR WAR party. None of us with subs and went to kill stuff in La Theine. We wiped on the first orc. I then was scared to death of that zone and leveled as high as I possibly could killing stuff in east ron. Lvl 16 i think? Getting like 300 exp an hour at the end....

I remember when DRK/NIN with axes was the thing to do and doing a weapons merit party with 3 DRK/NIN with axes, NIN RDM BRD. After that party is when i decided that was the stupidest trend ever.
 
I remember being scared to go near the Crag of Holla, cuz I noticed that Orcs seemed to get more numerous as you approached it. I spent a few days utterly convinced it was a HUGE Orcish stronghold.:biggrin:
 
Lets see..

I started the game on a Dell Laptop with about 40gb HDD space, and couldnt move from the entrance to windurst. I kept yelling at the book and the game because the instructions showed me how to use the arrow keys to move, and ingame it would just move the camera.
I even asked people going by, and someone sat next to me trying to encourage me.. probably took an hour to find how to set it to compact keyboard ><

1st job whm, melee'd things til about level 14 solo. It was a rough trip. I used to divide east sarutabaruta into zones bordered by the rivers and fear going past them.

Threw out about 2 stacks of beastseals

was in AWE the first time I saw a summoner, decided it must be the best job in the game. It was a pretty exclusive club then.
 
Ahh the good ol days. My best memories are the parties back on my BLM on my original character....when BLMs were sitll invited to Mana Burst.... on those Hobgoblin Fishermen in Bibiki bay :D

Sphene was a very dear friend of mine. Thanks for bringing up her memory... it put a smile on my face.
 
Sphene... I miss her... but yeah, thank you for bringing up her name... that poor girl.... she was a real swwtheart, amazing friend.
