Thoughts on Deflation

I'm saying the result is the same. You farm to buy a scorpion harness. 3 months ago, with the prices of your farmed results, you could have farmed 10 mils in 3 months (numbers aren't important, just the idea) and buy the scorpion harness.

Now today the SH is 3 mils but your farmed results are also cheaper. So in the same 3 months, you can farm that 3 mils and buy the scorpion harness. You spent the exact same time to get the same item with no gil left after purchase. Therefore, the result is the same, 3 months of work = a scorpion harness.

Never forget that money is just a universal item that represents value of work and items. It's nothing more. XXX money represents Y hours worked which equal to being able to buy Z amount of items. If you have 10 millions today you are rich. If you have 10 millions in a world where a carrot costs 5 millions, you are poor.

Its not the same since for one reason, not all prices are dropping at the same rate. The items i sell for money have been divided by 3, the items i want to buy have lost like 10% only . Im thinking of HQ staves for example, LV74 rings etc. Iused to fish to make gils, now look at the prices of fishes, all been divided by 3 or more. This sucks. Go in battalia down and tell me if the prices have gone down by 3... Only players that have been playing for years can afford those items... I stoped buying expensive stuff for more than 1 month now, like many players i think, because im sure it would take to much time to get that money back.

it seems ok to me.i just recently got back on ff11 and i left back in feb.anyways i just bought me a dreizack polearm for 250k and when i left they were 7 million.i was shocked to see it go all the way down to 250k.however im wanting to think its because of some other reason just havent figured it out yet.
