to all those who've left and returned to ffxi

Comments? I can't say honestly as the only time I came back was after 4 months. The reason I came back was to give the game another shot. I quit at level 18 as an elvaan warrior. I just wasn't having fun. Taru BLM proved to be quite the opposite. The only thing I can say to you that you may find helpful is that you should change your sig so it doesn't say **Retired FFXI player**

Anyway, I still haven't forgotten that you're the guy that helped me and that other dude with the yagudo branch of G3. You still have my thanks, gratitude, and apologies (for being too slow and for having you end up dieing twice). Maybe if I see you in game we can duo BLM for a while....I'm not on much but perhaps the chance will come up.

Oh, and as for the time you told me your snow ring(s) own tamas ring - I'm afraid I still must disagree. Tamas Ring has no match for BLM IMO. That's unless you're level 74 - in which case a spare snow ring would be nice. Maybe you were high at the time? =p

I know if I go back to FF11, nothing will be the same because I'll never have the same drive as I did when I first started. The economy is crumbling, many people are quitting, and RMT are rampant as ever. It's not the same as it was a year ago.

Many people who say they'd return after a long period of break end up quitting again very soon. I've been FFXI sober for 6 months. After you take a sociology class and realize how corrupt the MMORPG society is, you might be too.

Good luck to everyone who's trying to quit.

It was a long while back - I'd say a month or two before you stopped on BLM? My memory and perception of time are horrible though, so maybe earlier. I just remember you having beefy BLM grear and I commented on it - then asked why you were wearing two snow rings considering their price at the time (it was not long after the Christmas super-inflation). I brought up the fact that you could go for a tamas ring, but you responded with the comment mentioned above.

Judging by your lack of response to my other comments I'll assume you don't want to duo :p. I need to find a new partner for duoing now that radiator seems to have vanished....maybe you rhinegold? I'd like to build a buffer and then get some merits

I think if I come back, i'm going to treat it like any other game I have, play it when I feel like it, and dont commit to it.

I'm back, I'm helping people a lot more than I used to. The game seems different now. Its like I have more control over what I do in game, and thus more fun

I took about a 3 month break before coming back. As for me right now the only thing I find interesting in this game is to craft and possibly get sam and rdm to 75 next. Now the question here is if I can really commit to getting those 2 jobs to 75, but end-game is meh right now. I just need to be challenged more with end-game possibilities, but in spite of all of this I don't even know how long it will take me before I get bored AGAIN and just decide to quit lol.

I was somewhat gone for three or four months. I'd play once or twice a month, but I never really had time to do anything. Now that I have my computer running, and I have the internet at my new place, I'm back playing Final Fantasy XI.

I was having some of the usual troubles. Needing money when I didn't want to work for it, getting bored with... everything, etc. But now that I'm back, I'm more motivated. Taking breaks from the game is a good thing to do when you're just run down from FFXI. I went through a couple DVD's of data I have of video I took from playing FFXI, and it made me miss it a lot. Since I've returned, I've been a bit more motivated to do more. It's hard not having all of my friends with me that used to play, but I'm still having some fun.

I quit a couple times and came back. First time I quit was because two of my greatest friends were having trouble irl and prolly won't be back on FFXI ever. I was depressed and had NO motivation at all to do anything so I quit.

Then when ToA came out I reactivated my account and had a blast. I got my WHM to level 75 and I was like YAY finally after 2 years I have a level 75 job! I had a lot of fun running around, leveling club and exploring. Then my friend wanted to try out endgame stuff so I went along with him to join an endgame linkshell. The people in the linkshell were REALLY cool. I liked 'em. Only problem was, I didn't like endgame. >< Maybe it's just because the job I used, idk. It was very tedious, repetitive, and boring. I wanted out.

Around the end of October I quit AGAIN because an online game I been wanting to play for a while came out. It's called Phantasy Star Universe (PSU). It's not an MMORPG but I guess you can say it's more like an action/rpg similar to Diablo style, only more futuristic and cartoony. The game doesn't offer very much atm since updates are released SLOWLY and people were hitting level cap within a week. >< I found myself spending so much time doing nothing that it made me miss FFXI. So here I am again, reactivated my FFXI lol. I only have one close friend on the game but that's how it's been for me the passed year. I am kind of lonely on the game (and linkshelless atm) but I find things to do that make it enjoyable. Every time I reactivate my account I try out different jobs, different methods of making money, level a totally new craft, play a job I hated before etc.

Sorry I rambled. XD:oops:

Fortunately I never had a choice or I'd still be addicted xD

Have you ever played FFXI, on weed?
Have you ever seen the back of a 20 dollar bill...on weed?

I'm starting to get bored with FFXI, but I want to get sea and try a couple more things before I flat out decide to quit or not. There's always more to do in the game, which is both good and bad.

Aye....I quit also for PSU, but after doing all the missions early on and not having the drive to grind as I did in PSO I stopped atleast until more updates come out. So...I payed for this month of FF11...Got on after almost a 2 month break...

So first day back...I said hi to all my friends and after that was like, "Ok...I seriously don't want to do a damn thing." and logged off. Got on again tonight and started to lvl in a party but the phone pole outside my house got hit by a car so no phone for awhile and lost my net. Decided.....ya....don't wanna get back on. I started playing PSU the other day now that they have a bunch of new stuff and was like dude...this is fun as hell...sooo.. I'm prolly going to be quitting again after this month.
I missed all the my close friends in game...but it's just not enough to keep me back...and I've had brd at 74 for like 3 months now...lol
