to buy, or not to buy

so im seriously mulling over the idea of going and buying an xbox tomorrow

i wanna get halo 3 and lost oddessy

should i buy it? and if so which model should i buy?

I would get Lost Odyssey over Halo 3. Personal opinion. The Xbox even with its 16% crap out rate is an ideal machine with many great titles hitting the shelves this year still. To me its the best bang for your buck and I'm still in love with its controller after all this time having it. Of the three systems I play on it the most, its online menu's and whatnot are second to none. This is one console you wont regret, unless with the gen 5 you buy somehow manage a red rings of death issue off the bat lol. But thats what we have warranty's for right? Best of luck with whatever you decide on.

Oh and one more thing, the elite model is meh. Just go with the middle model with the hard drive and you will be fine.

Get it! Here is my opnion on the models. My first one was the Pro. After a year the dvd drive in it crapped out. It was replaced with an arcade version, it it just felt cheap. Truthfully, i would go with the Elite. 120gb of space is perfect, plus the Elite has the better chip system and HDMI.


Go with Lost Odyssey.

I'd go with Lost Odyssey. The new 360's should have a larger than 10 gb (or whatever it was to start) HD, and you don't really need the 120GB that the Elite has (had it for nearly a year, still have 85 gigs left of space, lots of demos I've liked that I've kept lol).

If you really want a FPS with lots of people online to play with, get CoD4. Halo 3 has kinda died off a bit.

The Pro is what $350 now? The Elite is now $450. With that you get 100 more gigs. Trust me, the 20 gigs go away pretty quickly. You get HDMI, you get a system that runs more silent, and has a way less failure rate.

Yeah, make sure if you buy a 360 that you get one with a recent build date. Doesn't guarantee you'll get a 5th build model console but it betters your odds. The 5th build (most recent model) seems to have worked out all of the problems. Most people are finding their Elite model 360's are not of the most recent hardware update build (New DD to make them quite but no Falcon Mobo and cooling system). The only perk to the Elite is the big ass HD (now that all recent models have HDMI) but seriously, it's no where near worth the extra cash. Really it's $100 for 100 more gigs of HD space (which you'll likely never need) and a very low probability, compared, of a Falcon build.

The only way you'd be needin' the extra space is if you A: leave downloaded movies and T.V. shows on your system after they expire and are worthless or B: are either to lazy or a packrat and leave demos on your system after you've had enough of them or played the real game.

if you have to have someone sell you on the system then you dont really want too buy it.

I'd definitely roll with CoD4 as a first choice for FPS. I'd also go with R6V2 if you can get a second, off the bat. We know R6V2 is gonna win hard, because the first one did, but AoT looks so fickle.

Eh, i'm really excited for it since i went on my vegas trip and got to check out the demo for it. I've always been a huge co-op guy (the only reason that H3 made it as long as it did with me) so this game is right up my alley. Plus as long as i have at least one other person on that has it, which will pretty much be the case, i'll be able to enjoy it.
