To my fellow taru melee:

So 2 solutions, you boost Int the most you can and As a taru you "should" have the strongest spells ever". Or you boost str and dex and you should be better in Melee attack and less in spells. My point of view is to boost what your job need the more. If you are a blm you boost int, if you are whm mind, monk str, so blue should be int.
My point of view on this is that blue mage was made for melee as much as it was for magic. I'm not basing this on much other than the fact that We get "A-" in sword skill and we have an exceptional defense level. So, since taru are pretty much made for magic, I choose to boost all of my melee stats, so that I deal equal amounts of damage from both melee and magic (currently magic still wins ><;). Thanks for the advise though, it gave some more ideas on how I can handle the job ^^

it depends on what kind of blu you want to be as well where you'll mostly put your money into which type of gear ie magical gear or dd gear

http://www.neko-sentai.com/images/BlumageNFO.htm a bit hard to read but those are the modifiers it even tells you what kind of dd it is!
Holy crap my head is spinning. I just read all that, I'd have to have a photographic memory to remember all the modifiers on that. I'll definatly try and keep it handy though. Thanks. On another note: since the charts on this web page (the one you gave me) seem to be very difficult to read, I think I'm going to take the source code of that site and add some HTML so that it can be more readable. If I decide to do that I'll post a link on here to filefront (I really have no idea where else I can put a file), as well as notify the author of that webpage if I can find some contact information.

On a completely unrelated note: Kire is that an emu in your avatar? Those things crack me up. I got to pet one once, but then it's mate started making really...upsetting noises after about 15 minutes so I backed off ; ;

yeah, but dont forget that the gear they have to wear to make up that STR, makes them miss out on other important gear that the elvaan could be wearing.

for ex, like you said taru has str+6 on hands... but they miss out on n.kote (acc+10) or o.kote (attack+20)

YOU LEAVE OUT MELEE GLOVES!

yeah but how much +str does taru have over elvan?
enough to hit = or more

75 mnk elvan has 75 STR
75 mnk taru has 64 STR
the taru has +6 hands (RSE2 hands) and feet are what +5? thats 75 STR

also skill is a big factor as well like ceram he has good skill and a taru but i know alot of elvan noob mnks xD

Keep in mind that most mele jobs can wear things like hecatomb or alky bracelets (mnk can wear alky) which give a ton more STR for ws (which is where STR is really important) than the RSE2 and can be worn by any race. Tarutarus ARE at a disadvantage for STR and RSE2 does NOT really make up for it. That said Tarutaru meles can still be very effective, and we look really cool.

As for blu help, I'm not a blu but I would recomend lots of equip sets to maximize yourself for your different spells and attacks

Kinda off topic, but i think it was Tyrath(?) that changed his .dat files around to make himself in to a taru with homam stuff on. Taru in heavy armor > all imo.

Backflip its all about the backflip

I prefer the helicopter.

really at lvl 75 the difference between a tarutaru monk and another race monk is not that big.
Sure an elvaan full merit > Taru full merit.
But the difference is not that much important. I can say I don't feel like beeing weak when I play with other races in merit partys.

Also we don't speak about some advantages pre 75 to be tarutaru monk
good Dex, I think good eva. Monk taru get little less hate wich help on XP party (at least before lvl 65-70)

Every job has advantages depending on races

Shome when your done putting it into html format may we have a copy? >.>

when i have time i'll show you a link to monster weaknesses in relation to spells

but this one its very simple to read and remember

taru and mithra are similar, but taru and elvaan are a huge difference. elvaan over taru is another 10 base STR, so i have to disagree.

again, false, imo.

taru get less hate because they do less damage compared to other races as monk, point blank.
