That would have just cancelled out the gil you spent....depending on if the price went down or stayed the same....
 
Ninja edit: Early morning respsone.

It still would have been about the same amount or more (if you didnt have access to or someone with Recall-Meriph.

I think the only time you would have shaved off is 5 minutes.

I've actually quested all the new spells since the update. Although the Recall spells were easy (even Recall-Jugnr) it does require time and patience.

I can understand someone buying Retrace though. It took me almost the entire day to do this one because of the unreal amount of running around that is required. But to me it's better than paying 80-95k on AH. Even if my blm is only 44 I'll prob hold onto this or maybe sell it for gil, idk.

You go to Windy past talk to a taru, go to Giddus present talk to a Yag, go back to windy past talk to two taru's, then go to Castle Ortza and grab a easy ??? while they are all looking the other way.

By utilizing campaign teleport use/Maw's you can really cut down the travel time too. Probably a few hours tops if that.

Retrace has no rank requirement. Only the Recall quests do.

Took me a half-hour, tops.

Home-Point Port Windurst Crystal, set job as BLM. Start out in Windy Waters , flag quest and get CS's. Warp, OP warp Sarutabaruta, get item from Yagudo, Escape, Maw -> Windurst Waters , CS#2, teleport via CA to Meri Mountains, walk to Castle O. Essentially finished, lol.

Iv'e never data mined, but don't think it does just tell you that <item A exist> <mob B exist in C zone> <NPC says D dialog> Hench why meeze was guessing that the quest for ninja scroll started in Bastok, because he saw the line t"hough heard someone sneak by me." Also how parade gorget stayed secret for so long.
 
Just thought I'd add that if someone has thier DRK the appropriate level but doesn't have the ToAU expansion, they wouldn't be able to get thier new Absorb spells(TP and ACC), and might turn to the AH for them, although personally, I'd ask a friend that had the expansion to hit up the NPC for me.

...It's been 2 years if they don't have ToAU expansion they aren't getting parties.
 
If they don't have ToAU by now gtfo.
