Tokyo's Wonder Fest escalator malfunction

[Hitokiri]

This video was taken with a camera phone at the Tokyo Wonder Fest. Way too many people were on the escalator and it stopped working, people came tumbling down on top of each other. 10 people were injured.

I like how it looks like the escalator is working, but no, it's just an asialanche devouring people.

haha the escalators at the Baltimore Convention Center ALWAYS break down during Otakon. But what looks like happened in this case, is that the steps actually started going backwards?

[Bluefrost]

Are escalators supposed to hold that much weight? Look how many people are on the damn thing.

That's exactly what happened. The motor probably burned out or something trying to haul all that, and without any force going up, everything went down.

OMG I almost cried laughing at that word.

[Chasym]

"That kid....That kid is back on the Escalator again!!!"
