Whatcha think of this list? :P I think they seem pretty right and fair. Though the order I'm not sure of but meh whatever. I did indeed enjoy some of the games on the list, but they weren't what they were hyped up to be.

Personally I'd have put FFXII on that list too somewhere but meh, whatever. Oh ya, also prolly FFX-2, not terrible games (both of em) but disappointing compared to what I was expecting, oh well.

I'd have to say I don't agree with all of them. There were definitely quite a few that deserved to be on that list, but I for one was never disappointed in Doom 3. I don't feel it should be on the list, I love it's spooky ass atmosphere (unless you mod it not to be as dark, or give every gun a light). I remember playing Doom 3 when it first came out and there were times I was seriously scared of what might come around the next corner in that game. Of course.. playing it in a dark room didn't help that, but it did make the gameplay experience that much more memorable.

I can't even remember all 10 games that were on the list now, but yeah Doom 3 struck me as not deserving of being there. I mean really, it lived up to the Doom franchise. When you think about it, Doom was never really an over the top FPS. You were a space marine fighting hellish demons, and this time there was actually story involved and done in a creative way. At least I thought so.

Well, I'm sure their are tons of games that could go on there, but I agree mostly. Hell, I thought Doom 3 was gonna be one. I remember salivating to play that game, only to be disappointed greatly after the first 3-4 hours. GT nailed to. Once the graphics were off, it was just very generic, and the multiplayer wasn't that great. I kept getting in foreign servers and the lag was unbelievable. Star Wars Galaxies was dead on, couldn't argue their. While I was a little bored with FFXI, I tried out Galaxies back in 2004. I thought it was ok, but I was upset with how it turned out. From what I hear, the developers made it even worse.

I agree with most, save for Doom 3 and Fable, since even though it didnt fulfill what Peter Molyneux at first touted, it still came out to be a damn good game. Same with Doom 3, it lived up to the Doom name in all respects.

I agree with most, you have to remember that they aren't just saying it was a bad game, but the game didn't live up to the hype it was getting pre-release. I can feel a couple more of those coming up soon truthfully.

I second the Doom 3 notion (wasn't a big fan of Fable so that one can stay.. it was WAY too hyped for what the end product turned out to be). Doom 3 was just as pretty as everyone said it was gonna be, albeit not the greatest game, it did set some standards as far as lighting effects and things like that are concerned. I think something like Jade Empire or Tekken 6 deserves to be on that list more than Doom does.

thats the point of the list though. It wasnt a bad game, it just didnt live up to the hype, so thats why it was disappointing.

Doom fans enjoyed the third instalment I think it just didnt hit the mainstream crowd that was eager to try the big name games, as I recall Doom 3 had a high learning curve. I was disapointed with PD Zero, the N64 one gave me much enjoyment despite the framerate problems, it didnt translate well to next-gen systems unfortunately.

Spore should for sure be on that list.

Also i bought my Xbox360 Perfect Dark Zero. I was as disappointed as i was playing Fusion Frenzy 2.

Fusion Frenzy was badass though!

FFXII, story bit, gameplay bit, overly simplistic
Spore, hyped before people even had a concept of what it was
Haze, so much potential for fun, so much fail
Halo3/ODST, single player sucked, multiplayer didn't change anything, too much hype in media for little delivery
MW2, same game, slightly nicer looking, crappy single player
Force Unleashed, hype about the greatest star wars game of all time, and simply isn't
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, true sequel to Everquest and while a great game was made, it was pushed out early and failed due to bugs and over-spec'd for computers at the time
Dungeons and Dragons Online, great concept, great world, terrible execution
RE5, Co-op was awesome, but single player shit on itself
GTAIV, hype hype hype but Vice City was more fun in a dozen ways

Doom3 was garbage, I'm glad it made the list. :| No, it did NOT live up to the Doom franchise lol.
