Anyone watch this show on HBO? It revolves around vampires in a modern sense. It's quite a good show. With the recent invent of "True Blood", a synthetic blood that can sustain vampires, they have revealed themselves to the world. Many vampires liked the idea but many did not, and cling to their old ways of feeding on humans. Based in Louisiana, they are the subject of intense suspicion by the local community, and still by the world at large. There is intense media coverage, supporters of religion deadset against basic rights for vampires.

I watched the first season the past few days, and I've got to say it is definetly worth the time.

I watched it as it came out, from premier to end. Its a great show ><; I can't wait for the second season to start, which I think was supposed to be this summer sometime. June, maybe?

I've also read the books as well. The latest installment comes in May. Charlene Harris is great >_> Her quirky characters are original and extremely interesting, though the writing 1st person style isn't my absolute favorite, it's very unique when you get used to it.

The show's changed quite a bit around, character-wise but I'm very happy with the way it's coming out anyways. HBO can only do so much in a certain amount of time, lol.

My absolute favorite character was Bill, at first. But due to recent events and with reading the book >_> it quickly turned into Eric.

Yeah, the first season was great, looking forward to season 2.

Season 2 recently started, and started off very well I might add. Lots of sex and blood, which is exactly what I want from a vampire show on HBO. More of you people need to get watching this show!

My sister made me watch it with her when I was in Switzerland, lol.

She has thrown vast quantities of money at the iTunes store.

Nice to see a fellow fan, or at least i presume you're a fan. I used to think this show didn't have as many twists as Lost does, but it's sure trying to compete this season

I lol'd.

I love True Blood. This season has been really good so far. I'm excited to see where they're going with Mary Ann.

Season 2 has been great so far. The first episode kinda worried me a bit because it was a bit slow but shit really kicked into gear on the second and third episodes. It's posting really amazing ratings for an HBO show and the DVD sales of season one went through the roof. Really amazed at just how popular it's gotten. I guess it's the whole vampire craze going on these days. This show's worth watching though.

Its so far off canon I really dont know whats going to happen at all with some things. I am excited however and was extremely pleased that they kept Dr. Ludwig as close to character as possible. Lafayette, I love Lafayette in the show. Wasn't around long in the book :/ I just can't wait for each and every show XD

I saw one episode and liked it, because it had this dude that got horny because he drank some blood. I couldn't keep my daughter (9yrs) watching it in less than a minute. So this is a must watch for me now.

ps - I tought Pakin was a Vampire but she seems like a mind reader or something.

To be honest, I started watching the show to see her get fucked

Anna Paquin's mouth is strange and distracting, and not in a good way.

It's been in my Netflix queue awhile, but I finally got around to bumping it to the top. I'll watch a few and see how it goes. Sounds interesting.

Would reading the books ruin the show or is the show taking its own route?

I haven't read the books, but from what I understand from people who have is they are pretty different from the HBO series.

Books > Show but the show isn't bad at all. Anna Paquin should have gotten her teeth fixed after The Piano, she's still attractive though and a good actress. I just hope that patheti-sad new show mirroring Twilight doesn't steal from the base of people watching True Blood.

They're making Twilight into a TV series? Huh?

"The Vampire Diaries" or something gay like that. It has a leading female and male that bear a strikingly similar attitude to the tools in the movie. It's not "Twilight the TV Show" but anyone who doesn't see the correlation needs their eyes checked lol.
