One is merely for convenience, the other I feel would be a great tool for party forming and deciding on accepting/giving invites.

#1 - A bazaar /search option that would let you check all open bazaars in your zone for any specific item you're looking for. It wouldn't compare prices or anything like that - just let you know that it's there, and leave the window shopping to you. There's dozens of bazaars on each level of Jeuno (Not to mention the other main towns) and I don't want to wade through 20+ /checks to find what I'm looking for.

#2 - There's only so much you can describe about yourself in 3 lines of search comment. IMO, when you put your flag up, you're able to be /checked by anyone, anywhere through a menu choice when selected in the 'seek party' menu. When I form my own parties, I like to know if the potential member is up-to-date, or trying to get by with Lizard gear in the Nest. On the flip side, being invited to a party should open the existing members up for checking by the invitee - thus preventing someone from joining a death-trap party before it starts. It'd give people more of a reason to update their gear, spells, and such before going out to level and give pt leaders more tools to weed out the gimps and select the best possible choice.

I dunno, maybe just wild late-night thoughts from me.

Those are some good ideas. The Bazaar one is nice, but I like the /check option even more.

One I've come up with is a job ability. It would let you switch from your current main job to your current sub job. So if I'm 26NIN/13WAR, I can use it and be 53WAR/26NIN. I was thinking around 15 minutes or so for a recharge time.

i like the idea of searching multiple bazaars at once. actually we could expand on that idea and form a gathering place for people to get together. maybe even pool all there items in one spot and post a price they want. then have a delivery service to send the money to your house after the item sold. we could call it an auction house. really all they need to do is have quests or something to expand your AH slots to acomodate people that want to sell more stuff. like the gobbie bag quests and such. it is a bit hard being stuck at 7 items in the AH at a time.

as for your second idea. it would deffinately be more informative. and most people would like it. but i think that it would inadvertantly cause party making to he much harder. people would become even pickier than they are now. makeshift parties are sometimes the only way to get things done. and if your trying to get a 5th or 6th person to join they might be to hesitant to join a party that is atypical. and it could end up being a party that can get the job done.

its all just my opinion of course. i do like the idea of being able to change jobs more often. i get tired of running around so much...

Good ideas, Cubs!
I like both and I think they'd make a big difference.

you forgot something... This game need PKing no doubt

Good ideas, I really feel that they do need to improve the PVP and maybe add chocobo racing.

Err...to an extent...

I really wouldn't like it if you try to level a low level job and some lvl75 guy runs up to you and smacks you with his sword so you die and delevel...

There IS pking, but i've never been in it, it is called Ballista, and sometimes they hold "No restriction" matches.

One option that I really want to see in FFXI, would be voice party chat. I've seen other MMORPGs that have this function. Yeah, it would take the mystery out of some people, but coordinating things would be a lot faster. But to make this option available, I can foresee that this would be a broadband only game, and there's a significant user base out there with 56K modems. Sigh, I can only dream.

pking?

I have the same problem OniTatsujin has, any game I've played that allows unregulated PvP, you get some high level KID going around killing low level people because he thinks its funny.

Cant you PK with lvl range exemptions? I've heard other games allow PKing within X lvls...

The first game I ever played online was starcraft followed by counterstrike. Now if you were an ass or if you cheated/hacked your IP was written and the entire community would know who u are and eventually ur black listed ass would quit.

This is the first game i've played that has a community in and out of the game (are these called mmorpg? never understood that meaning) so i'm not sure what PKing is like on other games. ballista is fun.. i enjoy it but let me give u a few examples where if PKing was allowed i'd take advantage. During my career on ffxi I've had a HNM/NM stolen from me 6 times (money wise we're talking 20mil+ if the money item dropped), the latest one being King behemoth... KB pops around 3 times a month, and when we saw it, we went for it...taking an hour to gather the right ppl to take it on... We worked on KB for 2 hours and at around 25% HP another HNM shell comes in and steals it (it goes yellow because ur running away from meteor), of course we were lucky enough to get it back and finish it off (btw.. that same shell who stole our KB also stole another Shell's KB thats right welcome to the world of HNM bullshit drama, where rivalerys end long time friendships and force you to choose sides).

Yesterday is another example. I'm lvling with my smn static.. we have 5 fenrirs out doing worms and this little shit taru named napalm starts to say "you guys are fags, your smns are causing lag" everyone in my group has seen it before infact we see bullshit like this everyday, so we keep exping and keep our mouths shut to lessen the daily online drama... and then the idiot says in shout "I hope you guys die IRL, seriously [japanese] [slow] MND" that little fucker bitched for the entire time we PT'd, and he was same lvl as me... if PKing was allowed I'd bust out astral flow and howling moon and put his ass down, if he got raised i'd put his ass down again.

I'm at a point in this game where i dont even respond to tells unless i know the person because 99% of the time its some person asking for help, getting declined and BITCHING about it. Will PKing solve it all? probably not but i honestly feel it would put some kind of restraint to idiots who just sit there and bot/steal NMs/bitch/bitch/bitch some more/and bitch again

sorry for the rant.. but its stupid shit like the stuff i stated above that has truely has ruined my expierence with this game lately... but then again my expierence with mmorpgs is very limited so what do i know~

There are a few LS's out there (or there were at least) that have voice chat capabilities. You had to download something from thier LS website but it did work.

I had a DSL connection btw.

Anyone else hear of this stuff or used it before?

there are several voice chat programs out there that work very well.

ventrilo is one that i used when i was heavy into counterstrike. there are a couple others. the only problem with them is you have to have a server to host it for you, wich can be a problem sometimes.

really if you wan tto do voice chat. the easiest is yahoo voice chat. they do all the server work for you and you dont have to do anything. i just set in on hands free mode and talk away while i play. one drawback would be you would ocasionaly get the anoying youngster in there or someone that can be a real jerk. it can ruin your time if it happens. so pick carefully who you let in your voice chat. wether it be ventrilo or yahoo or any of the others.

My idea for PK'ing was to have a flag up like the Seek Party flag. If you have this flag up, you can be invited to fight someone else. Either that or you're an open target for everyone else with the flag up. I like the inviting more. That way you can organize either a one-on-one duel with someone (inviting will make it so nobody else will come and try to kill you), or have a big brawl with a lot of people (like Ballista, but without the nations or game part of it).

Dual's would be fun actually, but like some dual's would be kinda of a no brainer

WHM vs. RNG {Hmmm.}

But yeah, that flag thing seems good, but wouldn't help J kill the stupid people, heh

Another way to enable you to PK J, is to HACK, hahahahahahah, good luck there!

RNG should get a bonus reward because of the sheer stupidity of any WHM accepting that =P

I like the /search all bazaar idea, would certainly make things quicker to buy what you are looking for... you could look up an item you want, see if it's available, then check prices and buy.. wait is'nt that the AH? Why not allow people to but ore then 7 items for sale instead, or at least allowed them to put 7 items in each AH accross Vana'diel. That way, there would be less mules just laying around in Jeuno and slowing down the game.

As far as the party thing... not so sure it's a good idea. Could be for higher level, but at lower level 15-25, you need that experience. I remember the first party I put together, horrible. But I learned from that I know I am pretty good at it. Also, first party I got in, did not know what to do and why people we're thanking me (tanking) If you allow people to group only with experience people, I think new players will have too much of a hard time getting in partys, which I am sure it's not what any of us want.

Anyway, just my opinion! But this game certainly could use some improvments, even if it's pretty cool as it is!

How about this for a new idea... you get to have your own Moggle House. You could buy it for a large sum of money and install it wherever you choose, decorate it with stuff and others could come by and say hi! That would be nice.... I am walking around in Qufim and then I say to myself "I'll go check if sneakypants is home!"

Personnaly, I like that, I think it's the best idea ever posted on the internet! lol What do you guys think?

(If that makes his way into the game, I am starting my own cable company... Vana'diel TV)

I was there in Qufim that day J. Napalm is an annoying little fuck. Though your 5 Fenrirs were killing my latency, it's all good though... I managed. You have every right to XP anyway you can, and it was kind of badass to see 5 Fenrirs giving it to those worms.

Thanks Mohoso and Buell. I'll check these out tonight.

I love the /sea bazzar idea. I really wish I had that now...

As for voice chat, my BF and I use Teamspeak for grouping. It really helps, as we can talk about strategy and what not as we fight without taking down time to organize things.

However, in a group with more than the two of us, it usually is our way to bitch about the other party members without them knowing. ^^ It is a nice stress releif though.
