I'm just curious right now (only 63 rdm, only on ZM 6 (in 1 fight) so nothng close to Sea.. but that can be done in a few weeks time with proper help.. just need the 14 levels but .... once I get sky those will fly.. need the inspiration
I am curious.. are there any Ultima LS's out there? I was playing with modelviewer and saw Narasimha's and almost died. It's what I want in a bard..... on RdM?! Now.. I hear its off drops from Ultima Weapon so this is no joke.. (nor is Bloody Scalemail and people have it)
Just curious, do they exist?
Hmm. You're a bit confused. I think Stouter stated it nicely but I'll add to his post. I am a part of a well-established limbus group already.
The item you are thinking about is the Nashira Manteel. This item is the "mage version" of Limbus armor that you can obtain only by killing Proto-Ultima. IF and when he dies, he has a chance to drop 5 pieces of his body. Please note that this is the Limbus version of the Ultima you fight in CoP. You cannot get the body parts just by doing the CoP missions alone. You need Ultima's Heart in order to get the the Nashira Manteel.
In order to be able to participate in these fights, you will need to have access to Sea. This is chapter 8-1 of the CoP expansion I believe. After you have access to Sea, you need to join a group or linkshell that dedicates time to Limbus runs. Right now, the groups are closely-knitted groups of friends or acquaintances. So jumping right into one may be a little difficult.
Now when you're in Limbus, you have an option of two paths, Temenos & Apollyon. Apollyon's last boss is Proto-Omega (which drops the melee version of the Nashira). Temenos' last boss is Proto-Ultima, which is the boss you will want to fight for your Nashira pieces. Since we are focusing on Temenos, I'll just comment on that.
In order to fight Proto-Ultima, at the very minimum, you will have to run Temenos' 6 times AND WIN. Why 6 times? Well because in order to open the "sequel" path, you have to win. There are 3 initial paths (North, East, West). Each victory will give you a chip (rare/ex, the SAME person has to have these). This chip is used to open the next path. Once the chip is used, it is gone. So it is very important that you do not fail, else you'll have to repeat the previous Temenos. I know it all sounds confusing, so I'll try to diagram it for you.
Temenos North (If Won) -> Ivory Chip -> Temenos Central Floor 3
Temenos East (If Won) -> Emerald Chip -> Temenos Central Floor 1
Temenos West (If Won) -> Scarlet Chip -> Temenos Central Floor 2
Now, if you completed all Central Floors of Temenos, you should obtain 3 new chips. These chips are used to go to Temenos Center, which will allow you to fight Proto-Ultima.
Now remember, I said you have to go a MINIMUM of SIX times. That considers the fact that you never lose each of the corresponding Temenos Limbus'. It becomes increasingly more frustrating, especially if you lose at one of the Central Floors, because you have to go back and start over for that path. It ESPECIALLY hurts if you lose to Proto-Ultima. You have to go back and do ALL of Temenos ALL OVER AGAIN.
With that aside, there are other factors you have to consider.
1. Limbus (in general) is fun and short but requires you to do your best. If you fail, frustration will ensue because you can't go to Limbus everyday. You have a lockout (just like Dynamis). You can only attend Limbus every 3 days.
2. Unless you make your own Limbus linkshell, you will be the very last to obtain the Nashira item you want (unless that LS has some other lotting mechanism in place). People have put months of effort to Limbus and isn't going to allow any newcomer to just come and lot on the body pieces. By using my guide above, fighting Proto-Ultima will take at the very least, 4 weeks to do (given you win every one).
3. The members may have different goals. Some may just want the AF+1 items. Others may just want beastcoins. Some may want to do Proto-Omega's items. With all that in consideration, it will take a lot longer than 4 weeks to accomplish your goal. My limbus shell has been going since October and only 2 of us have the Limbus armor (from Apollyon, which is... in my opinion... an easier path than Temenos). You have to do something that will please everyone or you'll get dissension in your ranks, which causes drama. And we all know drama too well in this game.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions if you're confused (I'm sure you are).
