Dunno, they finished up that arc rather quickly. It would make sense for them to contract a second season and start pennin' some filler though, considerin' the ratings this show is gettin'.

From reading the episode titles that are coming up, I've figured out that episode 11 will end the second arc, I think.

And I really need to speed read more of the VN.

Ok, I just finished reading Turn of the Golden Witch. I actually have to warn you that this gets seriously screwed up! All the stuff that's happened so far is TAME compared to what is about to happen, so, for goodness sake prepare yourselves!!!
 
Status Update on the Visual Novels:

Umineko no Naku Koro ni: Patch version 4.1 is live and available. This marks the end of the first set of episodes.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru: Episode 5 Progress: 5%. In some months the translations for End of the Golden Witch will be available.

It's Purgatory. You know, the first circle of hell where the souls of the dead are supposedly stuck there for all eternity.

Plus, the servants came back to them because of the four gifts the witch bestows upon those after the 10th Twilight. Hang on I'll get the Epitaph for you.

Epitaph:

My beloved hometown, the bountiful river running through it. You who seek the Golden Land, follow it's path downstream and seek the key. If you follow the river downstream, you will find a village. In the village, look for the shore the two will tell you of. There sleeps the key to the Golden Land.

I've stopped watchin' it at around episode 4. It's so damn good I just wanna see it all in one go. I can handle cliffhangers, but this anime just keeps the questions and suspense up so much I can't handle the waits.
 
By the way, I think I've figured out how they're structering the arcs:

Legend of the Golden Witch - 5 Episodes
Turn of the Golden Witch - 6 Episodes
Banquet of the Golden Witch - 7 Episodes
Alliance of the Golden Witch - 8 Episodes

That makes 26 episodes. However, it's just an estimation. I'm pretty sure they won't add Chiru's End of the Golden Witch arc.

What hasn't been translated as of yet are the character profiles and their causes of death. What this prologue has is the title screen start and up to the end of the opening movie.

There's probably more translated scenes floating out there but it's probably the extremely spoiler heavy stuff like the HOLYSHIT! moment ending.

Anime: I seem to be right. Banquet will be 7 episodes, so that just leaves Alliance to have 8 episodes. Unfortunately, Deen seems to be cutting some corners in the anime...

Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!!!

Have to admit though, despite all the bad things that can be said about this adaptation, at least it wasn't as bad as when they first did Higurashi, so, I guess I gotta give them some credit.

Manga: Banquet and Alliance of the Golden Witch have started their runs in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker comics run.

I love how this mangaka's art compliments the story of Umineko. I totally loved episode 4, and I like how the mangaka has drawn it out so far. Well, monthly releases are go!!!

Edit: Also, full opening song of Umineko chiru - Occultics no Majo, is now out.

Got some sad news. Ryukishi07's friend, BT, had passed away, I originally read it on 4chan of all places, so I asked a friend would know more about this. This is true.

Here's a translation of Ryukishi's Blog entry:

Today, I have some very sad news to report.

On July 10 of this year.
BT passed away due to an illness.

I decided to wait for the character poll, made possible by all of those volunteers, to finish before making this announcement.
After all, it was an event which BT poured all of his heart and soul into.
Now that it has passed smoothly, I feel that it's right time to make this announcement, and I sincerely apologize for not explaining his long absence previously...

He was not only my very best friend, but also my very first reader.
I wrote both Higurashi and Umineko because I wanted to surprise him.

During the several months that passed since that day.
I forgot the joy of writing.

However, I know better than anyone else that if I stop writing because of him, he would be the most sad.
So I must write.
But he will no longer read it.

I think I'll use today as a chance to set my heart back to square one.
No, perhaps it's just the same as always.
I think I'll start writing again for him to read.

BT left behind more than his heart and feelings.
The debug system he frequently remodeled is now an essential part of the way we complete these complicated productions in such a short period of time.
We'll use that system in the upcoming crunch time...no, we'll probably keep on using it forever.

I plan to continue working on these along with him forever.

To all of you who socialized with BT at special events, thank you very much.
He truly treasured all the unique gifts given to him, and he always had them arranged by his side.
Also, he said that he enjoyed socializing with you more than anything else, and he would always participate in doujin events no matter how busy he was.
