Underleveled SJ's

Now I really am giving up on the flameboard.

In this month we've had the revival of:

Grammar flame.

Melee RDM flame.

And now: Gimp Subjob Flame.

These topics were like the first topics on the original webpage flameboard, I remember a HUGE redmage melee thread, anyone else remember that? Necro to the extreme...

THE HORSES ARE DEAD. THEY WERE DEAD TWO YEARS AGO. STOP BEATING THEM.

And we've all done it, so its really even more stupid. I was the best war ever! Lvl 9 monk subjob at 30 and I used scythe and spear! Why? I didnt want to lvl monk, or war, i wanted to lvl drg and drk. Of course this was way before somepage, mysterytour, allakzam so maybe I have moderate excuse. But in the days when the brady guide was all there was, we had some amazing shit.

A couple of the first NA to reach lvl cap did it with gimp subjobs, Dibson's (BLM/WHM) sub was lvl 11 only because the JP wanted cure2 out of him until he was way past 60. (2nd NA to reach cap iirc, which was 70 at the time, not 75.)

I remember a rdm/thf who wasnt very good but was 60 before me. I remember rangers and red mages with lvl 10 nin sub, just for dual weild. I remember all sorts of very intersting combos, and its funny how some of those people would never admit to it now. Anyways that's enough out of me.

Hey there's no need to call names like that. Having a level'd subjob is important but at certain lvl's it isnt all that; maybe when it's time for Qufim it's more important.
Back in my day....

You didn't get to play in qufim unless you had a non-gimp SJ

I have to admit when I was lvling war to sub to nin I went through the dunes /bst ( I told myself it was so I could solo between party invites), then 20-24 /nin (no utsu) I really didnt want to lvl mnk for the few levels before I got utsu :p

But the trend that gets me now is the nekkid ppl Oo

Ive been lvling NIN for fun, but I still take it seriously. Ive actually been working towards a SH so Ill have it at 57.

But lately when I get people for parties (or get called into parties as a replacement) Half of them only have like 3-4 pieces of equipment on them, and the mages don't bother to getting all the spells. "lolitisntmymain" doesnt fly with mr in the mid-fifties. Nothing like getting hit with by spider web as a taru nin and hearing "erase? Nah, too expensive" Dude had on a seer's robe, seers slacks, and the AF helm, and... Thats it >.> no rings, earrings, ranged, hands, feet, etc... I had a Sam before that with only Body armor and a great katana. Guess I should have been glad He had a weapon >.<

PPL. If you're playing for fun, please put "Igotznogearorspellsplayingforfuntybaibbq" in your search comment.

Thank you for your time.

And you guys put up with him because...? Why didn't you kick him?

people should all ways have good gear and sj at least 37 if not why lv? sj gear is not alot as u can sell on ah and maybe make a profit

Omfg... and people's gear on lowbie characters. I can tolerate someone being a lil shy on their subjob 'cus well... we all used to be guilty of it. And sometimes you just really don't like playing the subjob, i.e. Black Mages who hate playing white mage.. white mages who hate playing black mages. etc.

I honestly don't care if someone has the best equips. On lowbie characters I don't even think it is always nessessary for each equipment slot to be full.

But, I got into a party a while back with a Ninja at the Garliage Citadel bat camp. Yah, this was in the 30's.. the extent of the Ninja's gear was a cooking apron and some gimpy weapon. I'd asked the set up of the party before joining and it seemed a bit meh.. but promising since it's low level. Come to find out the Nin had subbed THF but brought a PL to compinsate her gimpness. The PL sucked, as I think the nin was playing both characters. Since she was the leader I couldn't exactly boot her, but upon her and her pl leaving... the exp got a lot better. Her arguement... "This is my subjob... so I don't care, teehee.. teehee.." If you're a WHM and you come to the party in only a wand and a swimsuit.. ok.. I could prolly tolerate that. But, a ninja?! You're ultimately the backbone of the party.... At least make yourself into a DD ninja if you don't want to tank.. cus then your "PL" could take hate.

I still cannot forget that party.. lol... blew me away..

All I know is that as a Tarutaru I want every-single HP I can wring from a fully-leveled sub. Having a leveled sub-job means more HP/MP and that alone makes it a must-have....A party is only as good as it's weakest member. The Cliche' fest is now over....Paddington has left the building.
