How are we going to kill aspid if this is on scale with RNG nerf?D:
Nuke only when he's in his shell, let his resistance to magic drop when he's out?

The only Blood pact thats magical damage endgame is Nether Blast. The rest are physical and not elemental.

thats why i said "magical blood pacts are used in endgame so gtfo"

You said it as if "Lots of Magical Blood Pacts Are used endgame" rather than just one.

When are the people who are getting nerfed for obvious imbalance going to accept that it's THEIR actions that cause the nerf. Sure, someone might have complained, I doubt it but it might have happened, but SE obviously took a look at what was going on BEFORE they decided to make this change. It's not like SE couldn't notice that huge groups of blm's are taking down EVERYTHING in record time and with little effort. Hell, they even applied the change to other types to stop the zerging of other jobs to replace blm. Now we'll see who the real blm's are, not just the idiot bandwagoners who only leveled it because they got off on big numbers, just like with rng.

This doesn't destroy your job, it just stops the process of blm zerging. Now you'll actually have to think about how to kill a mob rather than just throw more blm at it, boo hoo.

Baja, there is nothing u can say that is going to persuade me this is a good thing. Weakening jobs (or abililties) is not a good thing, whether its blm, mnk or w/e. So Blm can take SOME things down quickly. There are some things that they cant. Hell i think someone described it in that other 'debate' on the flameboard as risk vs reward. The survivability of a blm if somethin goes wrong is next to nil. They did what they were supposed to do, and now they will have a more difficult time. The strats wont change, it will just take longer to kill things. Instead of nuke, rest, nuke its going to be nuke, rest, wait for resistance to be lowered, nuke.

SE ruined drg.. ruined rng.. now they are ruining the whole point of magic. And for the record, I think its terrible what they are doing to nin spells and chi blast too.

So RNGs have to think, so DRG can no longer spam the hell out of penta-thrust (really not that big of a nerf, it hit MNK more then anything), and BLM have to think, thus, they are ruined? ...Have you ever been to school? You have to think there sometimes, too.

give me an example of how this will change the mechanic or strategy of the blm job. How is the thinking going to change? Im being serious. how is my strategy of hittin my aero macros going to change at kirin? Thunder and blizard in ks30? They didnt do this to make blm think. They made it this way b/c there was a perception that blm had it easy on some things.

Edit: rng were nerfed. explain to me how its thinking when they are forced to stand a certain distance from the mob to do any kind of damage. In reality shouldnt it be the closer they stand the more damage they do?

Well arrows shot from a bow gain velocity as they speed twoard the target so the impact is much greater than just pulling it back in front of their face.

Especially if your arrows arch. Its their game play or leave it /shrug

with no additional propulsional force acting on an arrow after it has been shot, air resistance will slow it down. soon gravity will overcome it's horizontal movement vector and the arrow falls to the ground.
as for arching arrows, the arrow will gain the acceleration of gravity, but still be limited to air resistance and the weight (or lack thereof) of the projectile. it may travel further, but won't necessarily hit harder.

The strategy would shift in that you no longer stack blm's on anything. Now, you'll actually have to involve other jobs in kills. While yes, the blm's overall job hasn't changed in that they still nuke, but now they'd have to coordinate more with other jobs to maximize their nukes efficiency. For the linkshells who do not blm zerg, this change will not be as significant, just like the rng nerf wasn't as significant for the linkshells who didn't throw rng's at a mob. Some groups just couldn't flat-out kill anything because all they had were rng's, while others were less effected because they didn't rely on only one job for damage, which is what SE intended.

They didn't change the game because there's a perception blm have it easy on anything. They changed it because of the stupid idea that if you want anything done, you HAVE to have a ton of blm's to kill a mob. SE didn't want half the jobs ignored in endgame which is what's going on with the blm-only tactics now.

Once they've left the bow they stop gaining velocity, but they do stabilize for a more signifigant impact. However if we want to make this realistic, players would die without food, homepoint after KO wouldn't be an option, and magic wouldn't exist.

Sort of. Arrows have thier highest speed at the point of release, and slow down as they arch up. On the way back down they speed up again, but never reach the speed they had at point of release.

Also, Guns and Crossbows are more effective the closer you are.

so if you throw 18 blm at kirin, they would win? And as for DM, the melee will still have to set up parties the same way, meaning if certain jobs will still be ignored. There is no point to the nerf other then to appease those who think they will be invited now (which still wont happen b/c some melee are still more desirable then others and those are the ones that will be picked).

Certain melee dont get ignored in DM... DM uses if i remember the strategy exactly 2 pld 2 nin 1 blinktank to support 1 of the nin and a thf. Thats the only requirement as far as melee in DM and ninja can probably replace thf and the second blinker as can a war/nin. also about 1-2 rdm are used. So that makes 8 people out of 18 that are necessary and if you include a whm thats 9 spaces for any melee job to fight in DM. Since you say no BLM will ever go into DM instead of manaburn thats 9 spaces for any melee job.
Outside of lolthf2hour all of them have useful 2 hours that will win the fight.

Um, for the gil sellers that have only BLMs, they have to now throw melees at it. However, its not a bad thing, because it will allow more SC's and more MB's needed. But, its not a big deal for most of us. BLM is NOT being gimped right now, its being slightly edited to make it so gil sellers have to grow a brain and some testicles.

Also, how are people going to do under observation now with the magic resistance? o.O

learn how to turn around when it readies TP newb. It's not that hard, the only mob where it's actually difficult is Coeurls. Blaster and Chaotic Eye go off like no ones business in speed.

Actually, thank god this fucking happened. If they just fixed Relic Weapons and not retool the whole TP system and we were to get full TP returns on Asuran fists today, the job would be even more bandwagoned than it is.

And on Chi Blast. I doubt they'd break it down in to categories if it affected one resistance as a whole. The wording would be "All magical damage, including..." rather than what they said. The effect on Chi Blast won't be noticable, because honestly, how many monks are the big shells using in an endgame fight. I'm thinking 4-5, tops. If they're all on, and not going as a job better suited for the fight. Staggering blasts will make no difference in damage.

Yeah, I always do under observation with meleeing as the main source of damage, so no magic doesn't bother me.

I noticed they left blu magic untouched, seems like they don't have enough data with us using them or i misread^^;

It's because everyone knows BLU doesn't use magical damage spells, only physical.

Magical Blue magic is listed, but most of the BLU spells used are physical and wouldn't be effected.
