Did five runs tonight. Lost 3000exp about. Didn't get a damned thing, but a few monks got what they came for.Firestreak said:This is a "Good luck killing Aspido or Turtle KS99" argument for your black belt item.
Hey well good luck to ya then. Cuz we'd rather not be there anyway.Stouter said:You don't need any blms to do sky, let alone an abundance. Oh no, Genbu is going to take 7 minutes to kill instead of 5, good luck getting your gear now.
How is that different from rng? Rng has Kote/CFG, and every other slot you can buy some damn nice gear for.pakomen said:The difference between us and rangers is: we don't need you. Most of our shit is buyable.
Ah. Then that shows how much I know about rng. So why should either rng or blm even bother with helping sky ls's then?Stouter said:How is that different from rng? Rng has Kote/CFG, and every other slot you can buy some damn nice gear for.

When I saw Divine listed as one of the skills that would gain resistance, two things came to my mind: Banishga III and Holy II. They did mention they'd be adding some spells to whm, and I sincerely hope that their plans involve one of those two spells.Ithenas said:eh? i can think of one occasion where ninjutsu spamming an impossible to guage mob is an actual tactic...but this...? that has to be the most pointless nerf i've ever seen in my time in FFXIPOL said:white magic (divine)
Isn't Flash guaranteed to land on anything anyways, like Dia or Bio? Can it be resisted?Gregedor said:I think guys missed the fact that there is Divine Magic used on many NMs every single time: Flash.
Yes you can farm solo, but some people don't like solo'ing the same mobs for hours on end, and prefer a social atmosphere.pakomen said:1) Money. Blm's don't need money from sky. We can get it from soloing as well as the seals that drop from soloing.
2) How many events outside of sky (think exp parties) are blm's being invited to now days that are actually FOR the benefit of the blms? (I'm sure you'll think of something, but I can't. It's 2:35am and I'm mentally drained)
3) The valid reason. I would like some gear for my bst, and thus I even bother with sky, but it's not something I'm absolutely dying for. Maybe for other jobs it's more of a necessity, but this is assuming that the blm's in your ls have melle jobs in their 70's, which a lot of blm's don't.
Done MG without Blm, thf flee pull then 2 hour at camp while the slaves are picked off one by one with chainspell nuke (with only one rdm present) or creamed by sams and rngs with barrage/ws's/EES. Slaves have little hp, a blink tank and 2-3 melee assigned to slaves can kill them quick. Drk, rdm/drk, and even nin/drk can stun MG's thundagas.Don't really need too many BLM. But they are the most effective for many fights, and needed for fights like MG.

It's someone of an old wives tale that you "need" BLM for sky, but then again, you don't really "need" Ninjas or Paladins to xp. Warriors can tank til 75, it's just not as efficient. Just like doing sky without BLM, less efficient. But it's not like all the sky LS are about to pack their bags and go home.
But think of all the sky LS that are new, or old and someone weakened.
I've noticed sky LS start out weak, burst into big strength then slowly weaken til they get to the point they can no longer operate. A strong LS will be able to cope with the loss of "BLM power" Don't see the same for a lot of the weaker LS.
Obviously this is all an exageration being that Blm are still going to function in small numbers at least.and you don't need many. However you do need some unless your LS is extremely strong I don't see doing sky with NO Blm at all.
Lavi said:I hate when people use this argument and somehow compair an event to experience parties when they are not related. The reward for both is entirely different and only one reward is dependant on efficiency. Exp parties need efficiency to net the most experience possible; however, a sky LS could care less about speed other than to save a little time. The reward won't be any different if you kill Kirin in 45 mins or 45 hours. The drops will still be there at the end regardless. In a party, if you are slow, your rewards are less; in sky the rewards are unaffected no matter how long you take.
I could care less that BLM is nerfed. Even at this time, the damage all those manaburns did is already done and it probably can't get any worse (although I really do enjoy sticking it to idiots who can't do anything but manaburn :biggrin. It'll require some effort and strategy which is what SE has been emphasizing since day one and I am sure that this isn't the end of it either (I bet cannons are going to get a surprise soon too). BLMs will do their best work when coordinating MBs with the melee counterparts and they'll still get to see big numbers. Time and teamwork have always and will always be a big part of this game. If you haven't understood that from the beginning or you somehow think pressing a couple of buttons in unison constitutes teamwork, you are playing the wrong game.
I do however, take no enjoyment from the nerfing of divine magic and not because it directly effects me the most, but because it's the one skill which does the least besides maybe mijin gakure (nerfing 2hr damage... wtf?).
Yeah, because SE wouldn't toss out a new exp mob that gives good exp to a standard style party and takes strategy, only to nerf the crap out of it a month or two later making the mobs that used to check T now check too weak.Lavi said:It'll require some effort and strategy which is what SE has been emphasizing since day one and I am sure that this isn't the end of it either (I bet cannons are going to get a surprise soon too).

You can't expect that kind of linkshell to take him down first try regardless of what jobs they have. Hell, a shell with no vets and no experience at all in sky would be lucky to even find MG without suffering several aggros/deaths.Firestreak said:Can't expect a new linkshell just starting out with no vets and no gear to kill MG without BLM.
