US standing in the world is about to get better

I'm with you Khajit. Though, I don't support Hamas' violent actions in any way, either. Violence should always be a very last resort and should only ever be used for self defense. If there are fingers to be pointing at "who started it" like a little child, both recent times the ceasefire was broken was because of Israel. Gaza is like the ultimate ghetto and Israel won't let anyone enter or leave. They control and suppress the water, food, and medical supplies. They tear down houses and steal property. As we've seen from the recent conflict, they don't really care who is in the way of their fire. Israel is an extremely powerful and modernized nation and should lead by example instead of the horrible things they are doing. When anyone fights with them, it's a one-sided fight.

A military force capable of beating the entire region in a fight at ONCE, was afraid that a small country would attack it. not only that but by beleiveing that you're assuming that egypt was retarded enough to actually willingly attack a superior force that could blow them off the map without breaking a sweat.

first off, even though i assume you already know this, egypt, syria, and jordan were amassing troops near israel's boarders. you forgot to mention they had expelled UN peacekeepers and blocked israel from the red sea. and another interesting tidbit conveniently left out is, the president of egypt had called for the destruction of israel. next time i find myself completely surrounded by muslims i certainly hope you are not in charge of my protection.

also egypt wasnt really a small country, it was the most powerful army in the arab nation. and they had already attacked less than 20 years ago so yes, i assume egypt was retarded enough to attack.

of course it hasn't happened yet, one day after the UN approved the plan the arabs began attacking. then after more than a year of fighting they signed a ceasefire that gave them a small fraction of the land they would have got if they just agreed to the plan.

quit assuming that what these people do has to make sense. they are hell bent on destruction. and they dont care if they are completely destroyed so long as their enemy is too.

It's not. If you ever want to quickly fuck someone up to an unrecognizable condition; call the Moussad (sp). They're basically Israel's Seals/Marines/FBI/CIA. I know a guy (one of our audio/video dealers) that was IN the Moussad in Israel before he retired and he immigrated over here.

However you can't exactly treat Israel as a bully in all of this. The Palestinians are way more willing, than people want to believe, to come across the border to abduct a few women and children or some young soldiers (Israeli army recruits you on your 18th birthday I think, male or female) and "hold them for ransom" when after negotiations are finished Israeli's find bodies of said hostages, thanks Hammas! Palestinians kill 3-4 people at a time, Israeli's kill 300-400 at a time. A lot of this conflict is prepetuated by guerilla tactics by Hammas fighters on weaker people, while a retaliation (not like I agree with the retaliation, exactly, but its what happens) by a much more efficient and organized Israel looks like unmitigated violence.

By the by, while we're into "giving to Israel" thing, the US government isn't Israel's biggest contributor; its Hollywood. Think about it.

I'm not on either side. The British were involved in all this, then we got involved and up to our necks (hey, its the American way /rolls eyes) and backed the fuck up. I think we just need to let them all sort it out.

The sad thing is, it'll probably never happen. They've been fighting for a long time over the same things, and they will be fighting about it long after we and our children's children are long gone. Call it pessimism, but with both sides thinking they are solidly within their rights, I don't see either compromising for any lasting peace.

Hollywood beats out the billions of dollars the government supplies to Israel every year? I know there are a lot of rich people in Hollywood but I have a hard time believing that. I do know that even though we supply Israel with all of this money, we supply the Arab nations with even more.

What the hell are you talking about? We spend more money on defense than the rest of the world combined. No one would ever try to directly invade this country. Most of the countries in the middle east are 3rd world countries with no serious military at all. I think you need to turn off Fox News and open a book once in a while.

No, it was actually a comment aimed towards the production companies with gigantic ties to Israel, agencies as well. I wasn't making a joke about someones religion, I'm not sure where you would have seen that at all.
