Really though...asshat sounds like, for lack of better wording....just a more M-rated way of calling someone a butthead. In a sense it's kindof funny, because from what I'm told, a long time ago this was actually a good word, for when girls sit on guys' faces...and I've said too much~

For the record; What Mishaela said. I don't find it funny at all. Over here in the UK, we call people who refuse to spell anything correctly or abbreviate everything just to look :cool:, a Chav. They are very common over here and regarded by society as trash that have no education, like to stand about the streets and parks underage drinking cheap alcohol and making havoc everywhere.

I am sure that most of you aren't like this, so why not show how better you are and speak properly. It doesn't hurt. You'll never catch me saying any of that crap. Its just lame hacker/gamer/nerd talk. Leave that talk to the acne filled geeks that play counterstrike or quake, hardly ever take showers and have no girlfriend or life.

If you're too lazy to type and are forced to abbreviate, why not cut everything down then. IBIWMSWYD!

No flame needed. I actually think that is a great post. But as well as there being good, bad, smart, dumb, ugly, beautiful people; there are also intolerant people. Learn to deal with it!^^

I do deal with it, this is not my flame is it? I'm responding to yours, theres a differnce and if you can't tell that... well... can't help you out there. lol

As far as slapping my mother in the face, that would NOT be intolerance on her part. That would be DISRESPECTFUL on my part, and I would never do that anyway. You apparently do not know the meaning of the word respect, or you wouldn't say something as stupid as that.

Now as for lol & lmao, I still use these quite aften but for a reason.
Typing lol represents me casually laughing and is more time conserving then typing *laughs* or *Is amused* and etc.
I use lmao when someone either does something hilarious and or say something really stupid that spawns off other comments the keep me laughing on my side of the monitor long after the initial comment or action. lmao 0r *laughs alot* which seems more sensible to you?

Tolerating something from someone you love is differnt than tolerating a whole bunch of people and calling them the scum of the earth. Isn't it?
 
If you ask me, this whole thread came from Kea's overwhelming need to have control around her. "Imho" from experience, she needs to have everything around her just right, or else she takes personal offense. Reading this forum was entertaining "lol" in that it's more of the same from her.

Also the cultural barrier is huge here. If a North American player went to a Japanese forum and began arguing with them, over something as trivial as abbreviations...

I cannot stand those that use "u" instead of "you," those that do not capitalize "I," and those that to not use punctuation!

Now, to me, those three things, as simple as they sound, are the three things cause me to judge your intelligence.

No. This thread started with bordom. Please check it. It has nothing to do with control. I have no control of how people decide to speak - that up to them. Nor do I have any control over anyone, I don't need to - I have my own things I need to attend to. I am just simply saying that I don't like those words or abbreviations.

HAHA! Was that generalised or directed at me? I don't use "u" and things like that, they annoy me aswell. Less of the swearing though - you're a nice person.
