To those who fit the description in the topic, you annoy me.

I am sick and tired of coming to this site to see pointless and stupid threads posted daily. I will right now say that this is coming from my own personal opinion, not the Miros as a mod. I don't care about the fact that there is a low level NM that spawned in front of you in an area where people frequently travel in. Chances are they will get it before you finish the post. I also, do not care if you need a Raise 3 in sea, or sky, or down the street. That's why you have a linkshell, that's why you have friends, that's why we have PMs here.

I also do not care much for people who walk in a thread and turn it into their own. Derailment is a shitty thing nowadays. Would love to fix it, but frankly we don't have the power to change the rules since we have to go through Reeve, and well...we all know how much Reeve looooooves to help. I used to view this site as a site for both information and entertainment. The General Discussions forum used to be filled with helpful information, now it's just spammed with "omg what should I name my toon?!" or "r3 {can I have it?}" and it's driving me insane. Entertainment wise...the flameboard used to be good when we had people who could flame and do it well. Now we have banned anyone who is skilled at flaming, or watered down the flameboard enough so no one cares to read much anymore.

So I ask of you...no...everyone. Chill the fuck out. This is a forum that really has no area for improvement, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

If it's gotten to be that it's too difficult to use a scroll bar on your mouse then this world has gotten really fuckin pathetic. Most of what this forum has is maintained a community feeling, a community setting. That's allowed for most of the people in the community, the ones looking to enjoy themselves when talking about or playing a video game, to actually do just that. Enjoy themselves. I promise you that if I wanted to waste my time searching back through your posts I could find you talking in a thread off topic about something that someone out there could care less about. Just keep in mind: Bandwagon-threadcrappers/derailers/spammers/Useless posters are just as bad as the originals.

I think the biggest problem we have is with derailment. Lately, it seems a topic can get two pages before someone throws up a cat picture or people start arguing about the ps3.

The worst part about derailment is that somewhere in the forty crap posts, there a few that are trying to discuss the topic, but they get immediately shadowed by a mountain of crap.

While I think derailment is the biggest problem, I think excessive useless posts are much more annoying.

I'm not really talking about thread-crappers. I'm talking about the people who run in, switch the topic to one of their own pc+1 back and forth posts, and ruin the whole reason for the thread to begin with. Pasquale said it best.

Well shit, when I'm in doubt I blame Khidir or Shyrra. That makes me feel warm inside. Either way, it works the same. If one person starts derailing a thread, that's nothing. It's the bandwagon-derailers that cause the problems. You can ignore one post; but 2,3, 4, 5, etc... It's shitty, but it is what it is. Those people are just as guilty as the first. Not that I'm not a hypocrite on this subject, but that we all are. I'd say an easy 80% of people who post here cause or go along with this shit.

You're right, I don't mind it most of the time, but whenever I attempt to figure out what would be proper mod conduct, or any other information I get the usual "/shrug" from the god of these boards. I see my green name gone soon probably since this is really suppose to be a subtle flame in his direction as well.

I'm not gatekeeper, just mod...and the rules say it's to our discretion what we feel is spam and what's not. Which sucks because it's just a little difficult to figure out what we can truly rule out as spam and what not to without getting bitched at by the community.

I, myself, am tired of trying to read a post about something I'm either a) interested in or b) want to learn and having to sift through Shyrra's sex comments, Meeze's 1337 talk, and Zaltana's damn cats. I used to come on the site to talk to people who were on the server, to learn, and to alos have fun. But my view of having fun is talking and getting along not throwing pictures back and fourth at each other with posts that have to have quotes like "letters" and "words" just that they post can make it long enough to be posted. Now it seems this forum is full of cult members who only care about themselves and crapping anyone else's thread who's not in their circle of friends.

The creation of anarchy does not necessarily include the lack of law, but also the lack of law enforcement. To put laws out there and expect them to be followed on good faith and code of honor now-a-days is just naive. You can't handcuff your police and expect them to handcuff the public; I don't feel you should lose your mod status over it. Question is, why be a part of something that's for show, when the only thing you seem to be allowed to do is move topics or delete them?

Well we were hoping for one of the current mods to be made temp admin...at least I was hoping. Just as another leader type that could help with all this crap. But meh, whatever, like I said this place probably won't be changing anytime soon so enjoy the ride.

If I continued to go on with this conversation, this thread would now be about mod status and power. It's no longer about derailing and shit because I baited you into the derailment. It's that easy; and because you replied to my post it will make others want to continue with this conversation. Not necessarily the topic in the original post. You contribution to my bait is what will cause this thread to derail (though it may not now because of this post). For as long as I can remember a QCDN - I can remember thread crapping. The days of useful threads are very far in the past. There is little in the game left to discover. (Unless someone wants to figure out the secret to AV).

QCDN had its share of knowledgeable topics in ages past (lolOpeningMovie), but now it seems only a few things in game are deserving of such attention. Absolute Virtue, JoL (maybe), and ToAU content. Even now Bluegartr destroys any mention of AV. Lest I derail now into a whole new topic...

Thread crapping is easy to do - thus that is why it happens.

AND if that connection could be misinterpreted by others, create a little conclusion statement -- For sure that would help subsequent posters to realize, "Hey, were not talking about Kansas, we're talking about Tornado II."

Though that can't be said about everyone. There are new players of FFXI who join QCDN, ask a simple question that most of the community already knows the answer to, and then are barraged with a handful of replies from people who look down on them. They're new, give 'em a break.

If someone asks what you (in general) would consider a dumb question, take a second to think that they are now where you were 3+ years ago. If we can skip the belittlement there could be decent topics coming out of the new players.
