It'd be like saying everyone thinks someones a misogynist because they called a woman a bitch or a whore.

I never understood the concept behind being offended by a word. Sure, things people say can be hurtful, but unless the person has any sentimental value to me, what anyone has to say is irrelevant. If a word causes so much grief, that you have to act irrationally over it, and take such offense over it to cause a scene, you need to seek help. Professional help.

Up until I was 12 all my mom ever bought was bagged milk from Kwik Trip. It was cheaper than jugs I guess. Haven't seen a Kwik Trip or bagged milk since I moved to Colorado though.

I'm not saying he's a biggot, I probably would have called the dumb bitch a n!gger too. I'm saying everyone else thinks he's a biggot, but is too afraid to say so, for this reason:

Btw Cheebs, do you notice how I edited my post when I realized there was more than one post I wanted to reply to? Yeah.....learn to use that edit button :P

Bite me, I know how to edit my post to multi-quote.. I choose not too because I'm stubborn and damnit I just didn't want to be bothered!

I can understand how people change their opinions slightly. To have not agreed (whenever it was) that there may be just one situation where they wouldn't necessary appose to using the word.. sounds like a change of heart or just plain stubbornness!

everyone else on the fucking forum was jumpin on my ass about how much of a damn racist I was.
...
...
basically calling yourselves hypocrites.

P.S. There are black people in Canada? Damn, and I was all set to move there. Guess I might as well unpack ;(

Speaking of hypocrites.

And I think you misunderstand those who say "it's ok to use the N-bomb". It's context. Sure there are some people who use the word jokingly, and that hasn't changed at all. Those of us who would use the word now, in this instance, would do so in this instance.

I discussed this with my girlfriend for a bit. The way I see it, if someone just about kills you and then proceeds to spew racial slurs at you, it's all fair game. I'd toss out the N-bomb because A. The bitch opened it up to that kind of talk, and B. I know the word has history and cuts more deeply than calling a white guy a cracker, honkey, etc. And it's for that very reason, that in this particular situation, where you've got an incredibly dumb bitch that almost killed you, didn't apologize in the slightest, but then tried her best to offend and insult you, well...There's at least 1 way to speak a language that will get under her skin. That's the only reason I would use that word. Just as a form of retaliation in a very extreme situation. Someone really has to act like one to be called one, and this bitch deserves all of it, imo.

My girlfriend disagrees with me and suggests that it is NEVER appropriate. While I can appreciate her point of view, and she knows exactly who I am, if this happened to me and she was right there with me, the N-bomb is coming out. I don't much care who takes a liking to it or not at that point. I'm calling like I see it and sleeping easy that night, same as always.

Okay i might take some heat for this but i thought i should share my views on the N word. Here in miami, alot of people use the world "N!gga", blacks, whites, hispanics, etc. Those of the younger community that is, and some of the older too, people use it as often as one would say "Dude" or "Bro". Ill admit i even say it a few times too to my friends, some black and they say it back. No one really gets offended, however i wouldnt go to another city/state/country, or a different community and use the word just as equally, because its not the same everywhere and i respect other peoples views on the word so i wouldnt go blurting it out.

Also, i dont use the word because i think im black or anything like that, it sort of just comes out because people, blacks included use it so oftenly around here. I mean, you dont think beforehand why you say "Dude" or "Bro" it just comes out, its kinda the same with the word around here too.

Anyway thats my 2cents on it.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents.. lol

So, racisim is dead? How can we say that when everyday people are labeled by their race?
A white man robbed a grocery store, or a black man jacked a car, a Mexican did this. Or what ever, you get where I'm going with this. Why cant we just say that guy, or that girl, why does their race have to play a part in it?

Because, we are superficial people and we label people as such.

I don't know, just something to toss around I guess.

Oh yeah... and wtf is bagged milk? I have never heard of such a thing.. lol

I wouldn't say everyone thinks he's a bigot for what he said. It'd be like saying everyone thinks someones a misogynist because they called a woman a bitch or a whore. What you say when you're pissed off or provoked doesn't reflect your general attitude.

I don't know about that. I think that some people are alot more honest when they're pissed off. They say things they would normally censor themselves from. You're right in saying that it doesn't reflect their normal attitude, but I think it reflects their true attitude.

People always have a filter between their brain and their mouth. People don't always say what they really think, i.e.: "That new outfit looks terrible." "Her ass is HUGE." "His dick is tiny!". However, when you're angry, you're less likely to use this filter because you simply don't care if you're going to offend the person or not.

Speaking of hypocrites.

Your lack of a sense of humor fucking astounds me sometimes.

Your lack of "making a funny" astounds me on a regular basis.

Because there comes a time when, if looking for a person, you can't just say "a man robbed this store today at 7:30pm, he was wearing a tee-shirt and jeans. If you see him, notify the cops", because you'll be calling the cops on half the town in response.

Cases like you just described aren't racism, they're necessary descriptions.

I think this is well said. Written or whatever..

It's not however the case.. and it wouldn't be the case with all situations.

I continue to discuss this with my bf as everyone contributes their thoughts and feelings on this matter. He's impressed with most of the comments btw, but still thinks you're all a bunch of interwebzornerds lol! I kid.

What happened that day was in pure retaliation and utter shock at that c**ts nerve to racially insult 'him' and refuse all accountability of what occurred. She asked for it, and like I said earlier had I been there she would have been picking her teeth up from the floor of her car.

I don't think I've said this yet but I would have just as easily said the same things to her. Again I'm quicker to get physical but considering the location etc.. she would have heard the exact same insult come from my mouth.

By her opening her mouth she welcomed all equally degrading and disgusting choice words.

Racism is a deep seeded hate in someone. Bigotry is a lil harder to see in someone if not engaged in conversations that cover a related topic or touches on a race disliked.

I know a couple older men in my family still have a bit of bigotry in them, but they've always maintained a civil and discretionary 'front' when dealing with people not of their favored race.. it still bugs me knowing that however, but they're old school.

All in all, he may not have been PC or 'right' in his choice retaliation, but he's human.. he's got emotions like every other human and is perfectly entitled to anger when threatened in such a way.

I just hope there were no kids around to witness that.

Ok children, give it up already! Or I'll turn this thread around and.. yea do things!

The white man too is a minority just not in the US.
